The New York Mets will not hire former manager Jim Riggleman as their next bench coach after he interviewed earlier this week. Former Oakland Athletics manager Bob Geren is expected to be hired for the position. However, the team plans to speak with former bench coach Dave Jauss before going with Geren.

New York Mets bench coach Dave Jauss has been told he will continue to have a job in the organization although not necessarily at the major league level, according to Andy Martino of the New York Daily News.
