Sun, 12 Feb 2012 19:49:02 -0800 Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim general manager Jerry Dipoto is comfortable with the collection of pitchers assembled for the team's bullpen heading into spring training. "With the guys we have coming back - (RP Jordan Walden) and (RP Scott Downs) and (RP LaTroy Hawkins) and (RP Rich Thompson) and (RP Hisanori Takahashi) and (RP Bobby Cassevah) - and adding guys like RP Michael Kohn and RP Kevin Jepsen into the mix, the comfort level right now is pretty high," DiPoto said.
Fri, 05 Aug 2011 09:00:21 -0700 Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RP Hisanori Takahashi is the leading candidate to take RP Joel Pineiro's spot in the rotation after he was moved to the bullpen Thursday, Aug. 4. Ps Trevor Bell and Garrett Richards are also candidates to come up from the minors.
Fri, 22 Jul 2011 22:09:11 -0700 Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RP Hisanori Takahashi worked 1 1/3 perfect innings with two strikeouts Friday, July 22, against the Baltimore Orioles for his first save of the season. Wed, 06 Apr 2011 12:18:06 -0700 Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RP Hisanori Takahashi has yet to find his command this season, according to Lyle Spencer of MLB.com. "I don't think he's locked in yet to what he can do," said manager Mike Scioscia. "He's got to get ahead (in counts) and give himself a chance to put guys away. It's a balance you have to have, as far as making pitches in different zones. He has the ability to paint and make pitches, and right now he's not exactly where he needs to be."
Thu, 31 Mar 2011 15:39:37 -0700 Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RP Kevin Jepsen will serve as the team's primary setup man to RP Fernando Rodney with RP Scott Downs (toe) on the shelf, according to MLB.com's Lyle Spencer. RP Jordan Walden is another option, with RP Hisanori Takahashi the lefty specialist.
Fri, 25 Mar 2011 14:08:06 -0700 Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RP Fernando Rodney has had mixed results this spring, giving up 12 hits while walking five and striking out eight in 7 1/3 innings this spring for a 3.68 ERA, according to MLB.com's Lyle Spencer. "When my changeup feels good," Rodney said, "it makes my fastball better. When everything's right, fastball and changeup, I'm feeling good, getting guys out. When I don't have my good changeup, it makes it harder." RPs Hisanori Takahashi, Michael Kohn and Jordan Walden have all been more effective, but Rodney is expected to enter the season as the team's closer.
Mon, 21 Mar 2011 11:19:27 -0700 Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim P Matt Palmer could enter the rotation if SP Joel Pineiro (shoulder) is forced to start the season on the disabled list, according to ESPNLosAngeles.com's Mark Saxon. RP Hisanori Takahashi could also be a candidate, but it's unlikely to leave the bullpen.

Downs is 1-0 and has allowed just two hits and no runs in three innings while striking out one. Takahashi has given up three hits while walking one and striking out two in three innings. "These guys are throwing well, looking good," manager Mike Scioscia said. "We're excited about the balance and depth they can give us in our bullpen."
