Cardinals | Jon Jay headed to DL

Tue, 15 May 2012 08:48:21 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals OF Jon Jay (shoulder) is headed to the 15-day disabled list with continued soreness in his right shoulder.

Fantasy Tip: Jay burst onto the mixed league scene this year with a .343 batting average in the early going. However, it sounds like the shoulder he injured banging into the outfield wall a couple weeks ago is a lingering issue. The team is likely to recall Shane Robinson to replace Jay. He has value in NL-only formats, but could make his presence known in mixed leagues if his plus speed turns into stolen bases.
