Arizona Diamondbacks chief executive officer Derrick Hall said manager Kirk Gibson will remain with the team Monday, Oct. 21. "I had a conversation with him first thing this morning," Hall said. "My first inclination was to say I would not grant permission (for the Tigers to interview Gibson) because we want him to stay here. But I asked him, 'If that's what you desire, to go interview, that's different.' But he said he wants to stay here. That's all we needed to hear. He's not going anywhere."

Arizona Diamondbacks INF Eric Hinske has been suspended for five games for leaving the dugout and his aggressive actions during the incidents in his team's game on Tuesday, June 11, against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Manager Kirk Gibson has been suspended for one game for the intentional actions of SP Ian Kennedy in that contest after a warning had been issued. Gibson is scheduled to serve his suspension on Friday, June 14.
Also, C Miguel Montero and OF Gerardo Parra were fined undisclosed amounts. All player discipline is subject to appeal.
The Diamondbacks will not be allowed to have players who are on the DL to sit in their dugout for their games throughout this coming weekend. Those players may return to their benches on Monday, June 17.
Fantasy Tip: Phew. Thankfully, for fantasy owners, Montero and Parra escaped without suspensions. The rest of this is inconsequential for fantasy purposes, essentially. The Dodgers had players who are on the DL leave the dugout, not the Snakes, but so be it.

He gave up five runs (two earned) on three hits and four walks in 2 2/3 innings on Saturday, March 16, against the San Diego Padres. Manager Kirk Gibson said Skaggs has "certainly pressed from the day he came in here" and that still might be thinking too much on the mound. "He's young and has a lot to learn," Gibson said. "If he goes through this, it'll be good for him in the end. He'll learn how to deal with it. But right now, he's just struggling. He's struggling. We'll get him turned around."
