The Los Angeles Dodgers assigned Ps Mike Antonini, Stephen Fife, Josh Wall and Chris Withrow and OFs Alex Castellanos, Alfredo Silverio and Scott Van Slyke to minor league camp Thursday, March 15. The team also cut P Shane Lindsay and 1B Russ Mitchell.

Los Angeles Dodgers OF Juan Rivera shared time at first base with 1B James Loney during drills Tuesday, Feb. 28. INFs Jerry Hairston Jr. and Russ Mitchell (wrist) took repetitions at third base with INF Juan Uribe still attending to a legal matter. Mitchell said his wrist is completely healed this year.

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Don Mattingly plans to give SS Dee Gordon plenty of playing time throughout the final month of the season. "We're going to continue to see what he can do," Mattingly said. C Russ Mitchell, who was recalled Thursday, Sept. 1, will play some third base with 3B Casey Blake (neck) sidelined for the rest of the season. Mitchell is considered a super-utility player, and the team wants to see him play center field and catcher in winter ball.

The Los Angeles Dodgers activated 3B Casey Blake (elbow) from the 15-day disabled list Friday, May 27. Blake is starting at third and batting second Friday. 1B Russ Mitchell was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move. Blake went 2-for-14 with two walks in four rehab games.
