Updating a previous item, Atlanta Braves OF Jose Constanza (shoulder) stayed in his Dominican Winter League game Monday, Jan. 30, after apparently injuring his shoulder.

Atlanta Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said he'll decide on using OF Jose Constanza or Jason Heyward based on matchups and hunches. "(You) try to match up and try to play them both," Gonzalez said. "I think Jason, you see some games where you see that swing improve and you don't want to sit him out for three or four games in a row." Heyward started Tuesday, Aug. 30, for the third time in four games, but Gonzalez said Constanza would start Wednesday, Aug. 31.

Atlanta Braves OF Jason Heyward is back in the lineup Thursday, Aug. 18, with OF Jose Constanza taking a day off. "Yeah, and get Jason in there," manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "You don't want Jason sitting for three, four, five days at a time. Get him in there. He's got a little bit of history against Lincecum (Heyward was 2-for-7 with three walks against him before Thursday)." Heyward has spent the last couple of weeks working on his mechanics in the cage.
