Reds | Billy Hamilton moving to the two-hole |
Thu, 05 May 2016 16:35:11 -0700
Cincinnati Reds OF Billy Hamilton is batting second for the second time this season Thursday, May 5, and will most likely remain in that spot for the foreseeable future, according to manager Bryan Price. The move was made in part to allow Hamilton to use his speed to be more disruptive while also placing 3B Eugenio Suarez in more of a run-producing role at the sixth spot in the order.
Fantasy Tip: Price made it clear Hamilton would have to continue hitting - he was batting .296 over his last nine games entering Thursday - in order to make the change stick, but it is a good deal for all parties involved from a fantasy perspective. Hamilton should have at least one more at-bat per game to steal bases, while Suarez - already leading the team in RBI entering Thursday - will get regular opportunities to drive in Joey Votto, Brandon Phillips and Jay Bruce.

Reds | Billy Hamilton to get leadoff chance |
Wed, 24 Feb 2016 23:40:21 -0800
Cincinnati Reds OF Billy Hamilton will get another chance as the leadoff hitter in 2016, as manager Bryan Price believes in Hamilton's talents.
Fantasy Tip: The fact Hamilton steals 60 to 70 bases a year alone keeps him afloat in most fantasy leagues. The problem is he can't hit, or at least can't hit well. He should be available in the middle rounds of NL and mixed drafts, but his stock could go up with a hot-hitting spring.

Reds | Ryan Ludwick returns |
Mon, 21 Apr 2014 01:07:43 -0700
Updating a previous item, Cincinnati Reds OF Ryan Ludwick (toe) returned to the lineup Sunday, April 20, after missing Saturday's game after fouling a ball off his big toe Friday. Ludwick went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. It was thought Ludwick would miss a few games. "It was pretty painful for 24 hours," Reds manager Bryan Price said. "He could have pinch hit (Saturday). They did a lot of therapy on it. It's better – good enough to play. He's done everything he needs to do, run, cut."

Reds | Jonathan Broxton would return as closer |
Wed, 02 Apr 2014 13:17:47 -0700
Cincinnati Reds RP Jonathan Broxton (forearm) could return from the disabled list next week, and manager Bryan Price will use Broxton as the team's closer until RP Aroldis Chapman (head) returns.
Fantasy Tip: Chapman will be out for a while, and Broxton is widely available in standard leagues and even deep mixed formats. If you have an available DL spot, it wouldn't be a bad idea to grab Brox now and keep him stashed until he returns.

Sat, 22 Mar 2014 23:44:11 -0700
The Cincinnati Reds may have use for Arizona Diamondbacks RP J.J. Putz, given that CL Aroldis Chapman (face) will be out up to eight weeks after taking a line drive off his head. Putz has closing experience and worked with current Reds manager Bryan Price when both were with the Seattle Mariners.
