Cowboys | Dez Bryant will be limited

Sun, 28 Aug 2016 08:44:37 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (concussion) will be limited to individual drills during practice Sunday, Aug. 28, because he has not been fully cleared by the medical staff.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant has a few weeks to recover from the concussion, so he should have a decent chance to be ready for Week 1. Bryant's value will take a hit because of Tony Romo's injury but should still be a weekly starting option in all fantasy leagues as a No. 1 or No. 2 receiver.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant doesn't travel with team

Wed, 24 Aug 2016 16:48:45 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (concussion) didn't make the trip to Seattle for the team's next preseason game Thursday, August 25.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant has already been ruled out for the game, but fortunately, this concussion doesn't figure to threaten his status for the season opener in just a few weeks. As long as he's able to stay healthy, unlike a year ago, Bryant has the potential to pace all wide receivers in fantasy. He's still worth being drafted in the earliest rounds.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant out with concussion

Tue, 23 Aug 2016 06:47:24 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (concussion) suffered a concussion in practice Monday, Aug. 22, and he has been ruled out for the third preseason game Thursday, Aug. 25.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant has two weeks to recover before the start of the season, and that might be questionable with all of the phases of the protocol he has to clear. This could cause him to slip to a low-end WR1.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant having best camp yet

Thu, 18 Aug 2016 09:50:27 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant responded to a question at practice Wednesday, Aug. 17, by saying this has been his best training camp of his seven-year career. Bryant pointed to being healthy and in great shape, as well as crediting the strong play of Cowboys CBs Morris Claiborne and Brandon Carr.

Fantasy Tip: The healthy status is what everyone should be focused on with Bryant. He's a physical beast when he is on his game and warrants WR1 placement near the turn of the first and second rounds of fantasy drafts.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant is surprise active

Sat, 13 Aug 2016 20:31:40 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant wasn't expected to play in the preseason opener against the Los Angeles Rams Saturday, Aug. 13, but he played most of the first quarter and posted two grabs for 28 yards, including an 18-yard touchdown from rookie QB Dak Prescott.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant helped the rookie with a nice grab in the front left corner of the end zone in the first quarter and appears to be in mid-season form. He returns as a bona fide WR1 who will be off the board by the early part of Round 2 in all fantasy formats.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant sloppy in first practice

Sun, 31 Jul 2016 17:14:27 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant dropped multiple passes in individual drills during his first practice Saturday, July 30.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant should shake off the rust by the time Week 1 rolls around. His value is heavily tied to the fragile collarbone of Tony Romo, but Bryant should still be drafted in the first couple of rounds as a WR1.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant's struggles more mental

Thu, 07 Jul 2016 16:50:45 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot) said his hardships last season were more mental than physical. Bryant said he was off his game from a mental standpoint, and the waiting while he was injured was also difficult.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant should be good to go for training camp, physically and mentally. As long as he doesn't suffer any setbacks, he's worth a late first-round or early second-round pick in any fantasy format, especially with Tony Romo on the mend.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant will be ready for camp

Wed, 15 Jun 2016 17:19:48 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot) said he will be ready for the start of training camp. Bryant said he plans to work out with QB Tony Romo in the near future.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant has been limited during offseason workouts but appears to be on track for the start of training camp. He is one of the top receivers in the NFL when he is healthy and should be selected in one of the first few rounds of all drafts.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant limited in camp

Tue, 14 Jun 2016 08:54:05 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot) will not be a full participant in minicamp this week, and he'll mostly work on the side.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant should be ready for the season, but it's tough to take him as one of the first receivers off the board until he proves he's 100% from his broken foot. Bryant could fall to the midrange of the WR1 pack, where he'll present a nice value if he's healthy.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant on the field Tuesday

Wed, 08 Jun 2016 17:08:36 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot) was able to participate in some individual drills during practice Tuesday, June 7.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant has been limited for most of the offseason since he is returning from his foot injury. He should be ready for training camp and will be one of the first receivers off the board in all fantasy drafts.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant can participate in drills

Wed, 01 Jun 2016 16:51:46 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot) had an X-ray on his foot Wednesday, June 1. He is now able to progress to football drills. He has not been fully cleared, but he can increase cutting.

Fantasy Tip: Slowly but surely Bryant will progress through the offseason, ideally. Dallas will likely take it easy with their star receiver, who has dealt with his fair share of injuries throughout his career. Still, Bryant is worth consideration as a mid-range WR1, as stated earlier.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant does some work

Wed, 01 Jun 2016 12:33:55 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot) participated in pre-practice activities before leaving for rehabilitation work Wednesday, June 1.

Fantasy Tip: It could be a long offseason for Bryant, who will likely be forced to take it slow with the foot and ankle surgeries he had in January. Assuming he makes a full recovery in time for the regular season, he'll be worth a look as a mid-range WR1.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant to have X-rays

Wed, 25 May 2016 12:18:20 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot) will have more X-rays on his injured right foot soon, and he hopes to participate more as the offseason progresses. Bryant admitted that he needs to be patient during his recovery, but said he feels great. He did participate in the early part of organized team activities Wednesday, May 25, before his rehabilitation.

Fantasy Tip: It would behoove the Cowboys, and Bryant, to take it easy with him this offseason. Bryant is no stranger to the injury bug. If he comes into the 2016 healthy then he's worth selecting as a midrange WR1.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant out for OTAs

Wed, 18 May 2016 06:16:45 -0700

Updating previous reports, Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot) will not take part in organized team activities next week, but he hasn't suffered any setbacks. He has done well with the conditioning and individual work so far. He is running full speed and is on pace to be ready for training camp in July.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant required a second surgery on his broken foot, which is pretty common. If he has a good camp, he shouldn't pose much risk as a high-end WR1 in fantasy.

Cowboys | Stephen Jones challenges Dez Bryant

Wed, 11 May 2016 19:04:54 -0700

Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot, ankle) is still not quite 100 percent recovered from right foot and ankle surgeries in January, and he was limited to nine games in 2015. Executive vice president Stephen Jones issued a challenge Wednesday, May 11.

"I think one of the tough things about last year for Dez, he plays with such energy, that with the contract dispute, if you will, he wasn't around, which is business, and consequently he probably wasn't in the best shape going into the season and then you start to add the injuries when players aren't in shape and they continued on through training camp and then on into the season and we ended up not having him much last year, so if he can get his rehab done and get himself in top condition, then I think we'll see the same Dez that we saw two years ago," Jones said.

Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners hope that Dez can rebound to those lofty levels, too. It would also help if the running game could get going to take pressure off the passing game, and if Tony Romo could stay healthy, too. Dez worked with a mish-mash of has-beens and never-will-bes under center when Romo was out, so that didn't help add to his effectiveness, either.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant making good progress

Mon, 09 May 2016 10:19:50 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot) is making good progress in his recovery from foot surgery and has not suffered any setbacks, according to head coach Jason Garrett. Garrett said he hopes Bryant will be able to participate in some of the offseason workouts but would not say if Bryant will be able to participate in the June minicamp.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant likely will be limited during the offseason but should be ready for the start of training camp. Bryant is one of the best receivers in the NFL when he is healthy and should be selected in one of the first few rounds of fantasy drafts.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant's recovery on track

Sun, 08 May 2016 18:25:24 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot) played catch on the side during rookie minicamp Saturday, May 7, and head coach Jason Garrett said he continues to do well with his rehab.

Fantasy Tip: The news on Bryant's recovery continues to be good, and at this point, there is no reason he shouldn't be viewed as a top-five fantasy receiver.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant recovering well

Wed, 23 Mar 2016 16:56:47 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot) is doing well in his rehabilitation process for foot surgery he had this offseason, according to head coach Jason Garrett. Garrett said Bryant is around the building, has had a lot of productive days and is on schedule for the offseason program.

Fantasy Tip: When Bryant is healthy, he's arguably the most valuable wide receiver in the NFL and in fantasy football. If Bryant and Romo can both stay healthy for a full season, which is far from a sure thing, then Bryant could find himself as a top-five fantasy wide receiver at the end of the season.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant has good report

Tue, 23 Feb 2016 11:50:04 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot) visited with a doctor and had a "great report" on his surgically repaired right foot. The Cowboys are expecting Bryant to be able to take part in the offseason program.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant's 2015 season was an utter disappointment. His injuries and no Tony Romo were too much to overcome. With full health and with Romo expected to return healthy in 2016, Bryant could return to WR1 status, but there's no reason to reach for him in the first round.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant wants DeMarco Murray back

Thu, 04 Feb 2016 15:51:52 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray may not return to the Philadelphia Eagles next season, and Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant has already started recruiting Murray back to Dallas. The Cowboys are one of the teams included among those who might be interested in signing Murray.

Fantasy Tip: There's still a lot to play out for Murray and the Eagles before next season. The Cowboys, Oakland Raiders and Seattle Seahawks are three teams that were interested in him last year. A reunion with Dallas might make sense, but Darren McFadden is coming off a surprisingly productive season. Don't look too much into Murray's fantasy value until there's a clearer picture of his status in Philadelphia.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant should be ready for workouts

Wed, 27 Jan 2016 17:32:02 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot) is recovering from recent foot surgery at the team's facility but should be ready for offseason workouts. Executive vice president Stephen Jones said the team will manage Bryant during the offseason.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant dealt with injuries this past season and had to play with multiple quarterbacks, which hurt his stats. Bryant will have the entire season to recover from the surgery and should be ready for training camp. Bryant should be selected in one of the early rounds of drafts.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant having surgery Wednesday

Wed, 06 Jan 2016 09:17:38 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot, ankle) is undergoing surgery on his right foot and ankle Wednesday, Jan. 6, according to sources. He'll have another bone graft added to his foot and will have his ankle cleaned up, and the Cowboys are expecting him to be ready for the offseason program in April. Bryant had his initial surgery on his fifth metatarsal in September and also had a screw put in his foot.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant's 2015 season was a bust due to injuries and the fact that Tony Romo played in only two games all season. With a healthy offseason and time to recover, we would expect Bryant to bounce back and perform once again at WR1 levels, but it's worrisome to know that he relies so much on a healthy Romo to put up elite numbers.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant's surgery not complicated

Wed, 30 Dec 2015 10:08:53 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant's (foot, ankle) surgeries are expected to be minor procedures, and he should be back on track for his offseason workouts. Head coach Jason Garrett says the team did not rush Bryant back from his initial foot injury that he suffered in Week 1.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant's season was disappointing but mainly because of the injuries he had to play through. Not having Tony Romo throwing him passes for much of the year certainly didn't help. If he's healthy heading into the 2016 season, you should expect numbers much closer to his excellent 2014 season.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant's season over

Wed, 30 Dec 2015 09:28:10 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot, ankle) will be placed on Injured Reserve Wednesday, Dec. 30, and he'll miss the season finale in Week 17. Bryant will undergo a medical procedure on his foot and ankle in the near future, according to head coach Jason Garrett.

Fantasy Tip: Terrance Williams ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) figures to be in the mix a lot against the Washington Redskins and is a solid low-end grab on FantasyScore.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant's status undetermined

Mon, 28 Dec 2015 15:33:21 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant's (foot, ankle, knee) status for Week 17 against the Washington Redskins remains undecided, according to head coach Jason Garrett. "We'll see," Garrett said. "He's going to have some further tests and evaluations here in the next couple of days and we'll make a better determination as the week goes on."

Fantasy Tip: Bryant can't be trusted in any fantasy format in Week 17 with him being hobbled and Kellen Moore under center for Dallas. In fact, none of the Cowboys receiving options are very attractive on FantasyScore.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant ruled out

Sat, 26 Dec 2015 11:32:03 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot) has been ruled out for Week 16.

Fantasy Tip: With Bryant out, Terrance Williams ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) and Cole Beasley ($2,500, 5.0%)should see more looks from Kellen Moore against the Buffalo Bills, but Jason Witten ($4,900, 9.8%) may be the safest option if you want anyone pass-catch on Dallas. On the other hand, the Dallas offense may be one to stay away from this week.

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 25, and is listed as doubtful for the Week 16 game against the Buffalo Bills.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant ($7,200, 14.4% of cap) probably will not be able to play this week, but owners should still check the inactive list to see if he will play. Owners should look for other options to use in their lineups.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant unable to practice

Thu, 24 Dec 2015 10:43:36 -0800

Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot, ankle) is dealing with foot and ankle injuries this week and isn't expected to practice again this week, according to head coach Jason Garrett. Bryant has been dealing with these injuries for the past few weeks and is now to the point where he is unable to practice.

Fantasy Tip: It's already been a lost season for Dallas and Bryant ($7,200, 14.4% of cap) and this is the icing on the cake. A hobbled Bryant has no business being in daily lineups, especially with Kellen Moore under center. You should give serious thought to benching him, too, if fantasy title is on the line.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant sits Thursday

Thu, 24 Dec 2015 09:19:41 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot, ankle) will not practice Thursday, Dec. 24.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant ($7,200, 14.4% of cap) is a shaky WR2 with Kellen Moore under center against the Buffalo Bills on FantasyScore.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant out of practice

Wed, 23 Dec 2015 10:31:26 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot) is out of practice Wednesday, Dec. 23, but he hasn't suffered a setback.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant ($7,200, 14.4% of cap) was better last week with 15 points on FantasyScore. He still doesn't have high promise against the Buffalo Bills with Kellen Moore throwing to him, but he's a high-end WR2 consideration.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant won't be shut down

Tue, 22 Dec 2015 18:11:29 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot) and other veterans won't be shut down despite the team being eliminated from playoff contention, according to head coach Jason Garrett. "If guys are capable of playing, they're playing," Garrett said. "The objective is to win the game in Buffalo on Sunday. Anything else is secondary to that."

Fantasy Tip: Bryant ($7,200, 14.4% of cap) hasn't looked like the same player since returning from a broken foot, and the quarterback situation in Dallas isn't helping. At his current price, he is a huge gamble at FantasyScore.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant dealing with dehydration

Sat, 19 Dec 2015 19:49:24 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (dehydration) was taken to the locker room to receive an IV to treat dehydration against the New York Jets in Week 15. His return is probable.

Fantasy Tip: On the plus side, Bryant isn't dealing with a long-term injury, but the time in the locker room won't help him pad his stats.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant good to go

Fri, 18 Dec 2015 09:27:50 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot) practiced Friday, Dec. 18, and is probable for Week 15.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant ($7,200, 14.4% of cap) has really been hurt by his injury and the absence of QB Tony Romo. The next problem is Darrelle Revis likely opposite of him. He's probably at the lowest price on FantasyScore he has been all season. Feeling lucky?

Cowboys | Dez Bryant has full practice

Thu, 17 Dec 2015 13:09:53 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Dec. 17.

Fantasy Tip: Let's be honest, Bryant ($7,200, 14.4% of cap) isn't the same player when Tony Romo isn't throwing the ball. He's still got a hefty price tag on FantasyScore, too, so Bryant is one wide receiver you should probably avoid right now.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant a full go

Wed, 16 Dec 2015 15:05:17 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Dec. 16.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant ($7,200, 14.4% of cap) hasn't looked like his same usual dominant self ever since returning from his foot injury, and now that he's taking throws from the inconsistent Matt Cassel, his fantasy stock is plummeting rapidly. Avoid him on FantasyScore at that price.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant losing a step?

Wed, 16 Dec 2015 14:39:34 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant had just one catch for nine yards and two drops in bad weather conditions in Week 14 against the Green Bay Packers. New York Jets S Calvin Pryor said Bryant hasn't been the same since his foot injury earlier in the year. "Sometimes, he catches the ball and he gets downfield, (but) I don't think he has the same closing speed," Pryor said. "But not to say that won't happen against us. That's just some things I've seen on film. He's still a tough cover. People are still game planning for him, just like we are. So it's still Dez Bryant." In five games since his injury, Bryant has just 22 catches for 303 yards and two touchdowns.

Fantasy Tip: It doesn't help matters that Bryant ($7,200, 14.4% of cap) is taking passes from the ultra-inconsistent Matt Cassel. Bryant is much too expensive to rely on in daily fantasy football, and you shouldn't trust him in the playoffs of traditional leagues against the Jets in Week 15, either.

Cowboys | Jason Garrett talks Dez Bryant

Tue, 15 Dec 2015 11:17:56 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant is struggling because of the offseason program, organized team activities, training camp and practices he missed during his holdout before the season, according to head coach Jason Garrett.

Fantasy Tip: What Garrett is postulating does make sense. Bryant hasn't played as much football this year as he normally does, especially before the season started. Of course, having Matt Cassel and Brandon Weeden throwing to you and dealing with injuries doesn't help either. Bryant ($7,600, 15.2% of cap) is a risky start on FantasyScore again this week against the New York Jets.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant won't be shut down

Tue, 15 Dec 2015 07:14:04 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot, knee) will not be shut down, according to owner Jerry Jones.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant ($7,200, 14.4% of cap) had just one catch for nine yards last week and could see Darrelle Revis all over him in Week 15. His price has dropped on FantasyScore, but this doesn't look like the week to risk it.

Sun, 13 Dec 2015 19:29:49 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant finished with one catch on six targets for nine yards in a 28-7 loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 14.

Cowboys | Probable status for Dez Bryant

Fri, 11 Dec 2015 13:53:23 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot, knee) practiced in full all week and is probable to face the Green Bay Packers in Week 14.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant ($7,600, 15.2% of cap) has just five catches in the last two games and loses a lot of value now that Tony Romo is done for the rest of the regular season, at least. It's hard to justify paying up for Bryant with Matt Cassel so inconsistent under center.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant used infrequently

Mon, 07 Dec 2015 22:46:01 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant posted three receptions for 62 yards on seven targets in the Week 13 game against the Washington Redskins Monday, Dec. 7. He was held without a catch in the first half, and was seen yelling and visibly upset about his lack of involvement.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant's FantasyScore owners were right there with him in their frustration until a long reception in the fourth quarter which set up a field goal. He isn't worth the FantasyScore salary heading into Week 14 against the Green Bay Packers, as he has had very little rapport with Matt Cassel to date.

Sat, 05 Dec 2015 13:10:36 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot, knee) practiced in full Saturday, Dec. 5, and is listed as probable for Week 13.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant ($8,100, 16.2% of cap) has a good matchup against the Washington Redskins Monday night, but it's hard to trust Matt Cassel throwing him the rock. He's a buyer-beware WR1 on FantasyScore.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant feeling great

Thu, 03 Dec 2015 14:07:22 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant said he finally put in a full practice Thursday, Dec. 3, since his toe injury. "I'll tell you this. This is the best I've felt since I've been back. I'm still getting better and moving better. I'm more confident," Bryant said. He has 23 catches for 280 yards and two touchdowns this year and has been held to less than 50 yards receiving in each of the last three games.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant ($8,100, 16.2% of cap) has to be downgraded somewhat now that Tony Romo is out for the year. Not many folks will be itching to spend up for Bryant now, especially since he's been very quiet of late.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant shut down

Fri, 27 Nov 2015 07:30:43 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant was shut down by Carolina Panthers CB Josh Norman in Week 12 Thursday, Nov. 26, and Bryant finished with just two catches for 26 yards on eight targets.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant was a bust for daily owners on Thanksgiving. Now that Tony Romo (clavicle) is done for the year, daily gamers will likely continue to shy away from the receiver with Matt Cassel under center now. Bryant loses a lot of luster in traditional leagues for the remainder of the season, too.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant taking on Josh Norman

Thu, 26 Nov 2015 06:52:34 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant will be shadowed by Carolina Panthers CB Josh Norman Thursday, Nov. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Norman has allowed just one touchdown on 61 targets this season. Bryant ($8,300, 16.6% of cap) will have his hands full at less than 100% health. He's a weekly WR1 consideration on FantasyScore, but we understand shying away this week.

Cowboys | Three Cowboys expected to play

Wed, 25 Nov 2015 11:47:50 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot, knee), RB Darren McFadden (groin) and QB Tony Romo (back, shoulder) are all probable for Week 12 against the Carolina Panthers Thursday, Nov. 26, and they all practiced in full Wednesday, Nov. 25.

Fantasy Tip: None of this trio should really excite you on FantasyScore this week going up against the Panthers. Bryant ($8,300, 16.6% of cap) is a tough sell to return profit going against shutdown corner Josh Norman. Romo ($8,100, 16.2% of cap) has a tall task against a nasty defense in his second game back. And DMC ($6,400, 12.8% of cap) should have a heavy workload but might not be able to break through against a stout defensive front.
