However, Jones expected as much when he drafted Bryant. "He has been frustrating and he has been elating," Jones said. "And so it's exactly what we thought when we drafted him right to the T. Fri, 04 Nov 2011 07:51:33 -0700 Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo defended WR Dez Bryant when asked about his sideline antics in the team's Week 8 loss. But there is never any malice or anything negative involved. Cameras can catch whatever they want; he is never mean to another person or anything like that. He just wants to win and he's excited about being out there playing. We're lucky to have him." Romo added Bryant is a great teammate.
Tue, 01 Nov 2011 06:25:40 -0700 Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant has yet to learn how to run proper routes in the NFL, and as a result the Cowboys' offense has been somewhat predictable. Until Bryant develops some discipline in his route running, QB Tony Romo isn't going to trust him. Bryant also needs to figure out how to beat press coverage by a defensive back. Philadelphia Eagles CB Nnamdi Asomugha had his way with Bryant in Week 8.

Wed, 26 Oct 2011 07:44:34 -0700 Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said he is concerned about using WR Dez Bryant on punt returns on a full-time basis for fear of risking injury. "Now, the game is one that you risk injury on every play, but because he just refuses to go down – which is a great thing about him – then you've got to watch using that in situations like kick returns," Jones said. "We'll monitor that as the year goes. We'll play that by ear as to when he'll actually return the ball. We've got to watch him."
Tue, 25 Oct 2011 06:42:00 -0700 All indications are that Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant has taken over punt return duties full-time again. Bryant was back for all five punts in Week 7.

Sat, 22 Oct 2011 06:25:11 -0700 Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant said he believes the NFL is an easier league to play in than college because of the types of coverages he faces. "I really think the pros is much easier. The reason I say that is because in college I didn't see too much man, too much one-on-one," Bryant said. "I always got double-teamed and a lot of zone coverages. When I see that one-on-one in the league, my eyes get big. I start visualizing what I'm going to do after the play."
Sat, 22 Oct 2011 06:22:09 -0700 Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant said he believes the team can't be defeated. According to Bryant, the Cowboys have simply been beating themselves this season. "As far as the team, I like our chances. I feel like, it may sound crazy, I think we are unbeatable," Bryant said. "I think the losses, we lost those games ourselves. I feel like once we get back in that meeting room and regroup, and we learn from our mistakes, the sky's the limit."
Fri, 21 Oct 2011 12:14:44 -0700 The Dallas Cowboys are expected to use WR Dez Bryant as a punt returner in Week 7 when the St. Louis Rams are back deep into their own territory because of his ability to make plays.
Fri, 21 Oct 2011 06:31:46 -0700 Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo said it is so difficult to get the ball to WR Dez Bryant more often, particularly late in games, because defenses are focusing so much of their attention on Bryant. Opponents continue to double Bryant inside the red zone. "When it's one-on-one, (throwing the fade to Bryant) is what we're going to do," Romo said. "When they have a safety and they get two guys, it's not a good matchup." Bryant has caught only two passes after halftime this season and has been targeted only twice inside the 10-yard line.
Thu, 20 Oct 2011 10:28:22 -0700 Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray, WRs Dez Bryant and Kevin Ogletree and CB Terence Newman worked on returning punts during practice Thursday, Oct. 20.
Thu, 20 Oct 2011 06:44:17 -0700 Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said the team must be careful on how often WR Dez Bryant is used as a punt returner because he is also a starting wide receiver. "We feel like he's a dynamic returner; at the same time, he's our starting X receiver, so you've got to be selective how you use those guys in the return game," Garrett said. "He has to continue to catch punts and even catch some kickoffs as well. If he's needed to do that, he has to be ready to do that."
Wed, 19 Oct 2011 18:41:30 -0700 Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys WR Kevin Ogletree is likely to handle most of the punt returns in Week 7 against the St. Louis Rams. He is being looked at since WR Dez Bryant plays so much on offense, and CB Terence Newman is used so much on defense. "What we'd like to do (is) be able to to use those guys when we need to use them," head coach Jason Garrett said. "That's why they'll continue to be back there working in practice and be ready to do it in the game."

Wed, 19 Oct 2011 06:08:03 -0700 Part of the reason Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant has not been a factor late in games this season is because he does not have the full trust of QB Tony Romo. Bryant also does not know the playbook as well as he should. Head coach Jason Garrett also said a few weeks ago that Bryant's conditioning wasn't great because he's been out with a deep thigh bruise that he suffered in Week 1.
