Packers | QB does not expect Dez Bryant with GB

Wed, 23 May 2018 20:17:06 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers said he does not expect the Packers to sign free-agent WR Dez Bryant (Cowboys) this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant has not received a lot of interest since being cut and rejected the only offer he has received. He may need to wait until training camp to sign with a team. He can still be a solid receiver and has a chance to be a No. 3 fantasy receiver in 2018.

NFL | Interest in Dez Bryant not high

Wed, 02 May 2018 12:00:23 -0700

Free-agent WR Dez Bryant (Cowboys) has more teams not willing to pay him the league minimum salary than teams who are willing to sign him to any deal, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Bryant has already turned down a three-year, $21 million contract from the Baltimore Ravens.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant indicated shortly after he was released that he would prefer playing with an NFC East team in order to exact revenge on the Cowboys. Wherever Bryant plays, his fantasy value resides in WR2 territory.

Bills | Buffalo not pursuing Dez Bryant

Sat, 28 Apr 2018 21:18:59 -0700

Free-agent WR Dez Bryant (Cowboys) won't be pursued by the Buffalo Bills, according to general manager Brandon Beane. "If we thought that was the right fit for us, we definitely would potentially pursue it," Beane said.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant continues to look for a one-year, "prove it" deal, and a motivated Bryant could rebound a bit wherever he ends up. At the very least, he should be a WR3 next year.

Ravens | Dez Bryant declined Ravens

Wed, 25 Apr 2018 12:00:07 -0700

Free-agent WR Dez Bryant (Cowboys) turned down a multi-year deal from the Baltimore Ravens, according to former ESPN reporter Ed Werder. Bryant is seeking a one-year deal and an opportunity to earn a bigger contract as a free agent next year.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant would have been a good fit for the Ravens, but his logic is sound. We'll have to wait until after the draft to see where he lands, but should ideally be considered as a WR2.

NFL | Dez Bryant to sign after draft

Wed, 25 Apr 2018 06:12:44 -0700

Free-agent WR Dez Bryant (Cowboys) is likely to sign after the NFL draft.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant has regressed a great deal the last few years, but he's still worthy of being a WR3 in fantasy.

Cowboys | Dallas won't re-sign Dez Bryant

Tue, 24 Apr 2018 23:21:39 -0700

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said during a news conference Tuesday, April 24, that the team needed to "move on knowing that we don't have" free-agent WR Dez Bryant. He also said the team would look to add a receiver during the draft but did not specify if they'd use an early-round selection.

Fantasy Tip: Given that the Cowboys released him -- reportedly without offering a pay cut -- this should come as no surprise. With the draft almost upon us it's unlikely we'll see Bryant signed before its conclusion. Depending on where he lands, Bryant could still hold significant fantasy appeal.

Ravens | Baltimore out on Dez Bryant

Mon, 23 Apr 2018 15:21:24 -0700

Free-agent WR Dez Bryant (Cowboys) will not be signed by the Baltimore Ravens in light of the signing of WR Willie Snead, as expected.

Fantasy Tip: This was expected. Bryant may have to wait until at least draft weekend before he knows what colors he'll be wearing next. He has low-end WR1 to high-end WR2 status depending on where he plays.

Lions | Detroit unlikely to pursue Dez Bryant

Sat, 21 Apr 2018 10:50:37 -0700

Free-agent WR Dez Bryant (Cowboys) likely will not receive interest from the Detroit Lions, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Michael Rothstein.

Fantasy Tip: The Lions have Marvin Jones, Golden Tate and Kenny Golladay as their top three receivers and all will have fantasy value in 2018. Bryant will sign with a team at some point and can be a No. 3 fantasy receiver.

Giants | NYG not interested in Dez Bryant

Fri, 20 Apr 2018 17:50:28 -0700

Free-agent WR Dez Bryant (Cowboys) is not receiving interest from the New York Giants at this point.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant has said he would like to stay in the NFC East, but the Giants are not an option at this point. He should sign in a team in the near future and likely will be at least a No. 3 receiver in most fantasy leagues.

Ravens | Dez Bryant may no longer be option for BAL

Fri, 20 Apr 2018 14:21:19 -0700

Free-agent WR Dez Bryant (Cowboys) may no longer be a target for the Baltimore Ravens if the Ravens are able to add New Orleans Saints restricted free-agent WR Willie Snead this offseason, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Jamison Hensley.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant has not been linked to many teams at this point, so he may wait until after the draft to sign with a team. He can be a No. 3 fantasy receiver next season. The Ravens have signed Snead to an offer sheet and can be a late-round option for fantasy owners.

Mon, 16 Apr 2018 18:15:57 -0700

Jaguars | Dez Bryant unlikely to be option for Jags

Mon, 16 Apr 2018 11:02:57 -0700

Free-agent WR Dez Bryant (Cowboys) is not expected to be pursued by the Jacksonville Jaguars this offseason, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: The Jaguars lost a few receivers in free agency but still have a solid group of receivers on the roster. Marqise Lee probably will be the team's top receiver in 2018 and can be a No. 3 fantasy receiver in most leagues. Bryant will sign with a team at some point and can be a No. 2 or No. 3 fantasy receiver depending on his situation.

Browns | Cleveland unlikely to pursue Dez Bryant

Mon, 16 Apr 2018 09:57:18 -0700

Free-agent WR Dez Bryant (Cowboys) likely will not receive interest from the Cleveland Browns this offseason, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: The Browns added Jarvis Landry this offseason and should also have Josh Gordon for an entire season, so they appear to be in good shape at the position. Landry and Gordon could be No. 2 or No. 3 fantasy receivers in most leagues. Bryant should receive interest from teams and can also be a No. 3 fantasy receiver.

Sat, 14 Apr 2018 10:26:05 -0700

Free-agent WR Dez Bryant (Cowboys) said he would have been open to accepting a pay cut in order to stay with the Dallas Cowboys.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant should receive interest from several teams and can be at least a No. 3 fantasy receiver depending on his new team. Terrance Williams, Allen Hurns and Cole Beasley may be the top three receivers for the Cowboys at this point, but none of them are great fantasy options.

Packers | GB may look at Dez Bryant

Sat, 14 Apr 2018 09:34:02 -0700

Free-agent WR Dez Bryant (Cowboys) could receive some interest from the Green Bay Packers this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: The Packers lost Jordy Nelson this offseason, so Bryant could be a replacement in the passing game. He would be playing with one of the best quarterback in the NFL if he signs with Green Bay and could be a No. 2 fantasy receiver.

Bills | Dez Bryant may be pursued by BUF

Sat, 14 Apr 2018 09:21:29 -0700

Free-agent WR Dez Bryant (Cowboys) could receive some interest from the Buffalo Bills this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant has the chance to be a No. 1 receiver if he signs with the Bills during free agency. He would have a questionable quarterback situation with the Bills but would be a low-end No. 2 or a No. 3 receiver in most fantasy leagues.

Ravens | Baltimore may consider Dez Bryant

Sat, 14 Apr 2018 09:20:29 -0700

Free-agent WR Dez Bryant (Cowboys) could receive some interest from the Baltimore Ravens this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant can still be an option for the Ravens even though they signed Michael Crabtree earlier this offseason. He probably would be a starting receiver if he signed with the Ravens and could be a low-end No. 2 or a No. 3 receiver in fantasy leagues.

Cardinals | Dez Bryant an option for Cards?

Sat, 14 Apr 2018 09:08:33 -0700

Free-agent WR Dez Bryant (Cowboys) could receive some interest from the Arizona Cardinals this offseason, but the team does not have a lot of salary cap space available.

Fantasy Tip: The Cardinals lost a few receivers in free agency, so Bryant would help them and could join the starting lineup if he signed with the Cardinals. He probably would be a No. 3 fantasy receiver because of Sam Bradford's injury history.

NFL | Dez Bryant may stay in NFC East

Fri, 13 Apr 2018 17:09:27 -0700

Free-agent WR Dez Bryant (Cowboys) said he would like to sign with a team in the NFC East. "I won't say any teams, but being in the division, that's a huge possibility. That's a huge possibility. That's something that I want. ... It's personal. Like I said, it's very personal. I already had a plan of training and getting my mind right. I just want to do it that much more," Bryant said.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant can still be a solid contributor for a team, so owners should keep an eye on the situation over the next few weeks. Bryant can be at least a No. 3 fantasy receiver in 2018 depending on his situation.

Fri, 13 Apr 2018 13:10:04 -0700

Free-agent WR Dez Bryant is not an option for the Washington Redskins at this point, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant is still a solid receiver, but the Redskins have Jamison Crowder, Josh Doctson and Paul Richardson at receiver. Crowder can be a solid No. 3 receiver for owners, while Doctson and Richardson can be late-round options.

Cowboys | Dallas parts ways with Dez Bryant

Fri, 13 Apr 2018 09:30:22 -0700

Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant was released Friday, April 13, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Fantasy Tip: Rapoport says the transaction is "done," so Dallas saves a reported $12.5 million in cash and clears $8.5 million in cap space, but the move leaves the team with Allen Hurns, Terrance Williams, Cole Beasley and Ryan Switzer at the top of the depth chart. Even though Bryant isn't nearly as physically dominant as he once was, he should land on his feet pretty quickly. As for the Cowboys, they appear to be a lock to take someone like Alabama's Calvin Ridley or Maryland's D.J. Moore on the opening night of the draft.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant likely to get cut Friday

Fri, 13 Apr 2018 09:18:21 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant is expected to be released barring a "last-minute change of heart" Friday, April 13, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Fantasy Tip: This move has been reported about for at least a month, but it still a bit of a shock to the system if it happens. If Bryant and the Cowboys in fact part ways, the top four receivers on Dallas' depth chart will be Allen Hurns, Terrance Williams, Cole Beasley and Ryan Switzer entering the draft, making it all the more likely the team will do whatever it can to land someone like Alabama's Calvin Ridley.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant to meet with Dallas soon

Wed, 11 Apr 2018 12:06:09 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant will meet with owner Jerry Jones in the next few days. A potential pay cut and Bryant's future with the Cowboys are expected to be discussed.

Fantasy Tip: Push has finally come to shove. The Cowboys need Bryant to take less money or they could very well cut him.. Allen Hurns was brought on essentially as an insurance policy in case Bryant was eventually released. He and Terrance Williams would become WR3 candidates, although Dallas would be likely to use a high draft pick on a wide receiver.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant not doing enough?

Fri, 06 Apr 2018 09:13:55 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant isn't working hard enough to "retool" his game to make up for the loss of his physical skills in the eyes of some of his coaches, according to the MMQB's Albert Breer.

Fantasy Tip: These same coaches reportedly believe Bryant's overwhelming talent started to slip back in 2015. His numbers over the last three seasons back that assessment up, although injuries have played a role to be sure. At least one prominent NFL insider reporter declared Bryant will be released this offseason - most likely after the draft - so this story is far from over. What seems to be clear is Bryant's days of being a fantasy WR1 are most likely over.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant's days in Dallas numbered?

Tue, 27 Mar 2018 17:10:46 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant will be released - most likely after the draft - in the opinion of Yahoo! Sports' Jordan Schultz.

Fantasy Tip: It's a strong take from a fairly high-profile "insider," in the sense that Dallas doesn't have a stud-in-waiting at receiver and especially considering the Cowboys would be left with Terrance Williams, Allen Hurns and Cole Beasley as their top three receivers as things stand now. It's not unthinkable Bryant will be cut, but Dallas needs to land a top receiver prospect like Alabama's Calvin Ridley in the draft in order to feel reasonably good about the position heading into 2018.

Cowboys | Owner expects Dez Bryant back

Sat, 03 Mar 2018 14:20:59 -0800

Dallas owner/general manager Jerry Jones said he expects WR Dez Bryant to be with the team next season as things stand now. Jones believes he and Bryant will have productive talks about his contract status this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant is coming off a disappointing 2017 season and is scheduled for a big salary next season, so owners should monitor the situation over the next few weeks. Bryant has a good chance to have a solid season in 2018 and can be a No. 2 or No. 3 receiver in fantasy leagues.

Cowboys | HC careful with words on Dez Bryant

Wed, 28 Feb 2018 16:05:03 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant will not have a meeting with the team during the NFL Scouting Combine, and head coach Jason Garrett said Wednesday, Feb. 28, that he has not had specific personnel meetings about any player yet. "We have a tremendous amount of love for Dez Bryant as an organization," Garrett said. "He's made so many contributions to our team. I personally have a lot of love for him as a player and more so as a person."

Fantasy Tip: The Cowboys aren't committing to Bryant for the 2018 season, and perhaps they're particularly high on someone in the NFL Draft at the same position. His future with the team does not appear to be terribly secure at the moment, especially since he'll be paid $12.5 million in 2018, including a $16.5 million cap hit.

Cowboys | No meeting planned for Dez Bryant

Tue, 27 Feb 2018 12:05:13 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant's representation is not scheduled to meet with the Cowboys during NFL combine festivities this week, according to executive vice president Stephen Jones. Jones did add that a conversation is expected to happen sooner rather than later. Bryant is slated to become a free agent in 2020.

Fantasy Tip: Dallas wants to lock up their star receiver long-term, but that's obviously easier said than done. The Cowboys may ask him to take a pay cut at some point, but Bryant has already said he can't envision himself playing for another team. He's had a couple consecutive down years based on his standards but he has WR1 potential as long as he's healthy.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant has not been asked to rework deal

Fri, 23 Feb 2018 16:25:02 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant said the Cowboys have not asked him to take a pay cut at this point. He said he can't see himself playing for another team.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant had a disappointing 2017 season, so it is not known if he will be back with the Cowboys next season. Bryant has the ability to be a No. 2 or No. 3 fantasy receiver next season despite his stats this year.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant likely to stay put

Tue, 23 Jan 2018 17:09:49 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant is expected to return to the team in 2018, according to team owner Jerry Jones.

Fantasy Tip: It is unlikely this will put the issue of Bryant's status with Dallas in 2018 to bed, as Jones would not get into a discussion about a possible pay cut when asked Tuesday. Bryant is not the same game-changer he was a few years ago, but his game does not mesh as well with Dak Prescott as it did Tony Romo - largely because the latter did not hesitate throwing Bryant the ball in 50-50 situations. For now, Bryant needs to be considered a WR2 at best for fantasy purposes.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant's antics a distraction

Tue, 23 Jan 2018 07:00:16 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant's antics on the sideline are a distraction, according to Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones. "The Dez situation has a lot of moving parts to it," Jones said. "The chemistry between Dak (Prescott) and Dez is different between Tony (Romo) and Dez. Tony and Dez had their game tailored to one another. Dak doesn't play the way Tony played. It's a work in progress. The other thing that we all see and it is certainly visible to anyone who watches our games, watches our sideline, is Dez is certainly a fiery guy who plays with a lot of emotion both on and off the field. Sometimes that can be a distraction."

Fantasy Tip: Bryant had a 69-838-6 season, and it was the first time he played all 16 games in three years. However, he is a shell of the game-changing receiver he was in 2012-14. He's still just 29, but he's no more than a WR2 in fantasy.

Fri, 29 Dec 2017 15:53:41 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 29, and is not on the injury report for Week 17.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant has had a disappointing 2017 season and has three receptions or less in four of the last five games. He should still see a solid amount of targets against the Philadelphia Eagles and can be a No. 2 or No. 3 fantasy receiver.

Thu, 28 Dec 2017 15:09:50 -0800

Cowboys | Dez Bryant unlikely to take pay cut

Wed, 27 Dec 2017 17:43:31 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant said he likely would not accept a pay cut this offseason if he is approached by the Cowboys. He is scheduled to make $12.5 million in 2018.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant will enter Week 17 with 66 receptions, 814 yards and six touchdowns, but his future with the Cowboys may be in question because of his salary. He can be considered a No. 2 or No. 3 fantasy receiver this week against the Philadelphia Eagles, but his 2018 fantasy value is uncertain.

Mon, 25 Dec 2017 04:09:33 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant caught three of his six targeted passes for 44 yards in a Week 16 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Fantasy Tip: It was kind of an off day for the wideout, but QB Dak Prescott also had an off day and it spread to the Cowboys receiving corps. Don't let one day jeopardize Bryant's WR1 status, but hope Prescott shows future improvement.

Sun, 10 Dec 2017 17:29:49 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant racked up three receptions for 73 yards and a touchdown on five targets in the Week 14 win against the New York Giants.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant has back-to-back touchdowns for the third time this season, and his 73 yards actually tied his most since Oct. 1. He is still looking for his first 100-yard game of 2017 and has been more of a WR2 in most fantasy leagues. The Cowboys meet the Raiders on the road in Week 15.

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant became the franchise leader in career receiving touchdowns with 72, finishing with five catches for 61 yards and a score in a 38-14 win over the Washington Redskins in Week 13.

Fantasy Tip: The touchdown ended a five-game scoreless drought for Bryant, and he has still only topped 70 yards twice all year. Despite the touchdown, he remains a WR3 going forward.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant held in check

Thu, 23 Nov 2017 18:56:26 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant caught three passes on five targets for 37 yards in a 28-6 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers Thursday, Nov. 23.

Fantasy Tip: Aside from a two-catch, 12-yard performance in Week 3, this was Bryant's worst outing of the year. The Cowboys offense is a mess without Ezekiel Elliott, and even a healthy target total hasn't been enough to prop up Bryant's number. Up next is a rematch with the Washington Redskins, and Bryant managed just four catches for 39 yards the first time the teams met.

Sun, 19 Nov 2017 21:14:54 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant caught eight passes on 14 targets for 63 yards in a 37-9 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 11.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant continues to draw plenty of looks, but he has only caught 50 of the 98 balls thrown his way and has yet to top 100 yards. His volume should keep him in the low-end WR2 range, but don't expect any big games.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant did not appear to suffer a setback in Week 10, so it is likely the Cowboys are just having him follow the same practice schedule he did last week. He managed only three catches for 39 yards against the Atlanta Falcons last week, and he'll need to be better this week if Dallas is going to hang with the Philadelphia Eagles. Consider him a risky WR2 for Week 11.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant shut down

Sun, 12 Nov 2017 21:15:31 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant caught four passes on eight targets for 39 yards in a 27-7 loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 10.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant continues to draw plenty of looks, but he and Dak Prescott can't seem to find a consistent rhythm. He still doesn't have a 100-yard game this season, and it's probably best to view him as a WR3 ahead of the Week 11 meeting with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant will be in uniform

Sun, 12 Nov 2017 12:18:05 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (knee, ankle) is officially active for the team's Week 10 game.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant could receive a bigger role in the offense this week with Ezekiel Elliott out of the lineup. He should be considered a No. 1 or No. 2 receiver in all fantasy leagues.
