Cowboys | Dez Bryant fined by team

Wed, 28 Sep 2016 19:54:42 -0700

Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (knee) missed team meetings Tuesday, Sept. 27, and he was fined by the team for missing a scheduled MRI, multiple sources said Wednesday, Sept. 28. The amount of the fine is undisclosed.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant has a hairline fracture in his knee, and is a question mark heading into Week 4. However, it's unlikely he'll face further discipline from the team regarding his absence Tuesday. Fantasy owners will still want to see him practice in full before pulling the trigger on him for the active lineup.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant has hairline fracture

Wed, 28 Sep 2016 11:50:23 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (knee) has a hairline fracture in his knee, but head coach Jason Garrett hopes Bryant will be able to play against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 4. Bryant is considered day-to-day at this point.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to monitor the situation this week to see if Bryant will be able to play in Week 4. He probably would receive limited snaps if he is active for the game, which would make him a risky option. Owners will need a backup plan ready in case Bryant is ruled out. Dak Prescott's fantasy value would take a hit if Bryant is not able to play, but it would help the value of Cole Beasley, Terrance Williams and Jason Witten. Ezekiel Elliott could also be a more attractive option since the team could run the ball more.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant out of practice

Wed, 28 Sep 2016 09:09:49 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (knee) is out of practice Wednesday, Sept. 28, and head coach Jason Garrett said Bryant's knee was still under evaluation.

Fantasy Tip: No. 88 has been a disappointment through three weeks, and his knee was torqued in an ugly way. He was supposed to have an MRI Monday, but two days later there is still no word on his status. His health makes him a risky WR3 in fantasy this week.

Mon, 26 Sep 2016 05:26:41 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (knee) will undergo an MRI on his knee Monday, Sept. 26, after initial X-rays revealed a sprained knee.

Fantasy Tip: Bryant was hurt early in the Week 3 game, but he returned soon after. He has just an 11-140-1 line in three games, but he has a solid matchup against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 4. He's a low-end WR2 right now.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant playing more in the slot

Sat, 24 Sep 2016 21:50:58 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant was given more snaps in the slot in Week 2, which was part of a conscious effort from head coach Jason Garrett and offensive coordinator Scott Linehan to get Bryant more involved in the offense.

Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners don't really want to know how the sausage is made, but Bryant's seven catches for 102 yards in Week 2 sure looked a lot more appealing than his one-catch, eight-yard opener. Look for the team to continue finding ways to keep Bryant involved, and keep him in your lineup as a WR1.
