Fri, 31 May 2013 11:30:24 -0700 Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant said the chemistry between himself and QB Tony Romo has evolved into something great. "It's a lot different. At the beginning, Tony was the teacher and I was the student. I felt like at times, it wasn't supposed to be like that. It came to a point where hey, I need to know this. But now, it's a whole different story. We are still working a few wrinkles out but for the most part, I've got everything down." Fantasy Tip: Bryant, assuming he's mentally stable now, could be well on his way to producing elite receiver numbers in the NFL. His chemistry with Romo is extremely important, as the two have not been on the same page frequently in previous seasons. Outside of Bryant and Miles Austin, the Cowboys' receiving corps is suspect, so Bryant will be relied on heavily.
Wed, 29 May 2013 11:22:21 -0700 Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant has been working on improving his route running this season and wants to use the same footwork on every snap. He wants to use the same intensity pace and footwork on every snap so he can have an advantage over the defender. "He's improved so much. You can tell," CB Brandon Carr said. "He's working on all the little things in practice. He's focused on the details and he's getting better and better. I'm glad I don't have to cover him in games this season." Bryant has also altered his route running on deep passes in hopes of running past a defender. Fantasy Tip: Bryant is coming off a very successful season and should continue to improve his play this season. He should be seen as an every-week starter and could be taking in the first two or three rounds of drafts.
Wed, 29 May 2013 11:18:07 -0700 Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant has worked on improving his conditioning this offseason to make sure he runs routes with the same intensity in the fourth quarter as he does in the first quarter.
Sun, 26 May 2013 16:55:07 -0700 Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (back, finger) continues to get treatment for a back injury he suffered at the end of last season, but he said that injury and his finger surgery won't be issues this season. Bryant has been participating in organized team activities (OTAs). He continues to try to build his endurance. "I hear coach talk about it all the time, and that's one of my main goals," Bryant said. "Staying on the Stairmaster, trying to increase my endurance as much as I can, just not thinking about tapping out, just being able to go every play 100 miles per hour." Fantasy Tip: Bryant certainly sounds like a new man this offseason, and hopefully all of his legal issues and immaturity are behind him. Bryant posted his first 1,000-yard season in 2012, and he will enter draft day as a Top 5 fantasy option at his position, worthy of an early-round selection.
Wed, 22 May 2013 19:08:10 -0700 Dallas Cowboys WR Dwayne Harris is considered the front-runner for the No. 3 wide receiver job behind WRs Miles Austin and Dez Bryant, and it is believed WR Terrance Williams will need a strong training camp to supplant him.
Wed, 22 May 2013 17:03:54 -0700 Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said WR Dez Bryant is "really, really a joy to coach." "He has such passion for the game," Garrett added. "He loves it. He loves his teammates. He loves to play." Fantasy Tip: Bryant's physical gifts have never been in question during his short NFL career, but his off-the-field issues have dragged him down from becoming a legitimate elite NFL-caliber receiver. He appears to have full confidence heading into the the season, and after a very productive 2012 season, Bryant could become an elite WR1 for fantasy footballers.
Tue, 21 May 2013 13:54:37 -0700 Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant said he found himself, and that has led to a quiet offseason with no off-field issues. "I found myself," Bryant said Tuesday after the Cowboys' first organized team activity. "I'm comfortable with my life. I'm enjoying being in the NFL. I wish it could've been a couple years back, but I had to go through a couple of things to figure it out. I think I got it and I'm just more focused on my job and doing what I love to do and that's playing football."
Tue, 09 Apr 2013 08:39:35 -0700 Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (finger) said the index finger he fractured last season is feeling great and that he has been catching passes from QB Tony Romo at the team's facility. "Finger is great," Bryant said. "I'm catching passes the same. I'm not missing a beat."
Fri, 15 Feb 2013 11:03:58 -0800 Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant emerged as a star wide receiver in 2012, but changes to the coaching staff could affect Bryant's production in 2013. Wide receiver coach Jimmy Robinson, who had a significant impact on Bryant, is out and has been replaced by new wide receivers coach Derek Dooley. Dooley will be responsible for continuing Bryant's growth moving forward.
Thu, 14 Feb 2013 07:21:28 -0800 Former Dallas Cowboys receivers coach Jimmy Robinson has been retained by the organization as a coaching consultant because he has been a positive influence on WR Dez Bryant. "Jimmy had a really positive impact on Dez," head coach Jason Garrett said. "It was a breakout year for Dez. He caught 92 balls for 1,300-plus yards and really played very, very good football. I think he matured a ton, and there's no question the environment he was in certainly helped him, and Jimmy was a big part of that."
