Eagles | No franchise tag for Sam Bradford

Mon, 08 Feb 2016 13:10:03 -0800

Updating previous reports, Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford will not receive the franchise tag.

Fantasy Tip: The Eagles are also expected to inquire about Nick Foles, so Bradford could be on his way out of Philadlephia, but that's not a sure thing just yet. If Foles does return to the city of brothrly love, he still wouldn’t be in the QB1 coversation.

Eagles | No decision on Sam Bradford

Mon, 08 Feb 2016 07:01:19 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles impending free-agent QB Sam Bradford could have the franchise tag placed on him this offseason, but the team hasn't made a decision yet. If the Eagles use the franchise tag on Bradford, they will need to pay him about $20 million in 2016 once he signs the contract.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford is a shaky QB2 in fantasy.

Eagles | No tag expected for Sam Bradford

Sun, 07 Feb 2016 10:17:28 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles impending free-agent QB Sam Bradford is not expected to receive the franchise tag this offseason, but the team is still interested in re-signing him, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford probably will hit free agency this offseason and should have a chance to find a starting job with a team. Bradford played well at times this season but probably would be a backup option in most fantasy leagues next season.

Eagles | Doug Pederson hints at QB change

Thu, 04 Feb 2016 18:14:54 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson listed finding a "young quarterback" as one of the steps necessary for team to have success, which could mean QB Sam Bradford is not in the team's plans moving forward.

Fantasy Tip: It continues to sound like Bradford could be on the way out of Philadelphia, and if he leaves, it is possible that the Eagles will draft a quarterback early in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Eagles | Philly could draft quarterback

Wed, 03 Feb 2016 12:46:15 -0800

If Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford does not return in 2016, the Eagles could use a high draft pick on the position and look for a quarterback in free agency to help bridge the gap until that rookie is capable of starting, in the opinion of PhillyVoice.com's Jimmy Kempski.

Fantasy Tip: There's a lot that needs to play out this offseason in regards to the Eagles' quarterback situation. The Eagles may choose to start with a clean slate at quarterback, but if Sam Bradford doesn't return then they would almost certainly sign a free-agent quarterback and/or draft a quarterback.

Eagles | Sam Bradford unlikely to return?

Wed, 03 Feb 2016 12:32:34 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford has a good chance of not returning to Philadelphia next season, according to Jimmy Kempski of PhillyVoice.com. Kempski said he would lean heavily towards Bradford not being re-signed.

Fantasy Tip: The needle seems to be pointing toward Bradford leaving the city of brotherly love this year. There are still a few months for that to come to fruition, but Mark Sanchez would be the next man up as far as their current depth chart stands, although, they would likely draft and/or sign a quarterback as Kempski alluded to.

Eagles | Lane Johnson endorses Sam Bradford

Sun, 31 Jan 2016 16:49:34 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles OT Lane Johnson said he thinks the team would benefit from re-signing QB Sam Bradford. "I definitely want him to say," Johnson said. "If you look at the last part of the year, Sam was doing really well. Completing a lot of passes and getting comfortable. Him staying here, him being familiar with the players, I think that would really help us out."

Fantasy Tip: If Bradford returns to the Eagles in 2016, consider him a high-end QB2 in season-long formats and a potential starting option in daily formats against friendly matchups.

Eagles | Philly could let Sam Bradford walk

Thu, 28 Jan 2016 21:25:48 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles impending free-agent QB Sam Bradford could hit the open market if the team believes there is a franchise quarterback available in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford is still a candidate to receive the franchise tag, or a long-term extension could be reached. If he is back in Philadelphia next year, he should be a solid QB2.

Eagles | Sam Bradford wants to stay in Philly?

Tue, 26 Jan 2016 09:56:19 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles impending free-agent QB Sam Bradford would like to stay in Philadelphia, according to Eagles TE Zach Ertz. "I think he's excited," Ertz said. "He wants to be in Philadelphia." New head coach Doug Pederson said last week that Bradford is a top-notch quarterback that would fit his system well.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford has been mostly a disappointment during his career, but he showed flashes and quietly produced his best season with the Eagles in 2015, especially to close out the year. He does fit well in Pederson's system, and it's likely the Eagles will make an effort to bring him back. If Bradford returns, he's a top-flight fantasy backup with room for more in the right matchups.

Eagles | Sam Bradford wanted $25 million annually

Wed, 20 Jan 2016 08:08:24 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles impending free-agent QB Sam Bradford's agent asked the Eagles for $25 million annually in contract talks earlier this season, ESPN's Jim Trotter said on NFL Insiders.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford has to prove that he can stay healthy and comfortable in the pocket before he's anything more than a backup in fantasy.

Eagles | Sam Bradford finished on strong note

Tue, 19 Jan 2016 13:40:19 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles impending free-agent QB Sam Bradford completed 202 of 304 passes for 2,164 yards and 10 touchdowns while throwing just five interceptions in his final eight games of the 2015 season. Bradford has already been lauded by new head coach Doug Pederson, and Pederson believes Bradford would be a perfect fit in the system Pederson will implement.

Fantasy Tip: This all depends on if Bradford re-signs with the Eagles, of course. Bradford did stay healthy last season, which is something he hadn't done the previous two seasons. A new-look coaching staff and offensive system could help propel Bradford in 2016.

Eagles | Sam Bradford praised by new head coach

Tue, 19 Jan 2016 11:39:27 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford is a top-notch quarterback in the opinion of new head coach Doug Pederson.

Fantasy Tip: Pederson's words seem to indicate that Bradford isn't going anywhere this offseason. Bradford could definitely improve under Pederson's tutelage, if he's able to stay healthy. Pederson is a former NFL quarterback and quarterbacks coach, which should have Bradford licking his chops for an improved 2016 season. For now, view Bradford as a QB2.

Eagles | Sam Bradford is Week 17 sleeper

Wed, 30 Dec 2015 22:47:26 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford will face the New York Giants in the regular season finale in Week 17 against the New York Giants. The G-Men rank last in the NFL against the pass, allowing 297.9 yards per game with 29 touchdowns and 58 pass plays of 20 or more yards.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) will have interim head coach Pat Shurmur at the helm, and not Chip Kelly, but the offense should still have plenty of passing against a Giants pass defense which has been terrible this season. At a mid-tier price Bradford could be a steal in FantasyScore.

Eagles | Sam Bradford throws for 380 yards

Sat, 26 Dec 2015 21:18:46 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford completed 37 of 56 passes for 380 yards and a touchdown in a 38-24 loss to the Washington Redskins in Week 16.

Fantasy Tip: The season hasn't exactly gone as planned, but he has thrown for 361 yards and 380 yards, respectively, in his last two games. He could cap the season on a high note against a suspect New York Giants defense in Week 17.

Eagles | Sam Bradford probable

Fri, 25 Dec 2015 13:27:00 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford (shoulder) fully participate in practice Friday, Dec. 25, and is listed as probable for the Week 16 game against the Washington Redskins.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford (4,800, 9.6% of cap) has played well at times this season and has five touchdowns in his last three games but also has three interceptions during that span. Bradford is not a strong starting option this week, and owners should be able to find other options.

Eagles | Sam Bradford practices Thursday

Thu, 24 Dec 2015 09:09:40 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford (shoulder) practiced in full Thursday, Dec. 24.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) has posted an average of 20.1 fantasy points the last two weeks. He's facing a midrange defense in the Washington Redskins. There isn't a lot of upside, but he's a low-end option to consider on FantasyScore.

Eagles | Left knee impacted Sam Bradford early

Thu, 24 Dec 2015 05:44:59 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford (knee) admitted Wednesday, Dec. 23, that his twice-torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee had an influence on his performance earlier this season, and his knee was sore coming out of training camp and in the early part of the campaign.

Fantasy Tip: Between learning a new -- and uptempo -- offense and nursing a sore knee, it isn't shocking that Bradford ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) struggled to start the year. He has a 96.1 quarterback rating over the past five games, though, and he checks out as a potential low-priced option at FantasyScore for Week 16 contests.

Eagles | Sam Bradford practices

Wed, 23 Dec 2015 11:31:44 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford (shoulder) practiced in full Wednesday, Dec. 23.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) is actually averaging 20.1 fantasy points the last two weeks. He's facing a midrange defense in the Washington Redskins. There isn't a lot of upside, but he's a low-end option to consider on FantasyScore.

Eagles | Sam Bradford piles up yards

Sun, 20 Dec 2015 21:13:38 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford completed 28 of his 41 pass attempts for 361 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in the Week 15 game against the Arizona Cardinals. He also lost one fumble.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford posted a lot of garbage time stats with the game well out of hand in the second half, but fantasy owners don't care how they come about their points. Bradford will face the Washington Redskins next Saturday night. He threw for 270 yards and a season-best three touchdowns Oct. 4 in the first meetings with the Redskins.

Fri, 18 Dec 2015 10:37:59 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford (shoulder) practiced fully Friday, Dec. 18, and he's probable for Week 15.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) has a rough matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, and he's not a good choice on FantasyScore.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews, Sam Bradford practice

Thu, 17 Dec 2015 12:33:52 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (back) and QB Sam Bradford (shoulder) both practiced in full Thursday, Dec. 17. It is expected that Matthews will play in Week 15 against the Arizona Cardinals.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews ($6,300, 12.6% of cap) should play, but he'll likely draw shutdown corner Patrick Peterson, which is not good for fantasy owners expecting him to return positive value. Bradford ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) isn't attractive on FantasyScore, either, against a top-five overall defense Sunday night.

Eagles | Sam Bradford mum on returning

Thu, 17 Dec 2015 09:46:11 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford, who is eligible for free agency in the offseason, was non-committal about wanting to re-sign with the Eagles. "I'm sure I'll pay more attention to that stuff in the offseason," Bradford said. "That's a couple months away. I'm really just worried about these next three weeks, obviously this week against Arizona."

Fantasy Tip: Bradford ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) has a tough matchup against the Cardinals this week and isn't a FantasyScore option with a lot of upside.

Eagles | Sam Bradford practices

Wed, 16 Dec 2015 11:25:41 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford (shoulder) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Dec. 16.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) has a tough draw against the Arizona Cardinals this week, and he's not the best FantasyScore choice this week.

Eagles | Sam Bradford may be long-term answer

Mon, 14 Dec 2015 10:21:35 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford is still considered a long-term option at quarterback for the Eagles, according to head coach Chip Kelly.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford has posted decent numbers as the starting quarterback this season and five touchdowns and only one interception in his last four games. Bradford will be facing a tough Arizona Cardinals defense this week and may not be a great option for fantasy owners.

Eagles | Sam Bradford probable

Fri, 11 Dec 2015 09:10:46 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford (shoulder) practiced fully Friday, Dec. 11, and he's probable for Week 14.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) isn't a great start against the Buffalo Bills on FantasyScore.

Eagles | Sam Bradford, Zach Ertz fully practice

Thu, 10 Dec 2015 12:10:50 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford (shoulder) and TE Zach Ertz (hip) practiced in full for the second straight day Thursday, Dec. 10.

Fantasy Tip: Both players should be just fine against the Buffalo Bills. Bradford ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) actually has some sleeper appeal this weekend against a Buffalo team that hasn't pressured quarterbacks like they were expected to. Ertz ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) scored a touchdown last week but had just two catches for nine yards. He's still competing for catches with Brent Celek, and he's a low-end tight end play this weekend.

Fri, 04 Dec 2015 09:09:25 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford (shoulder) practiced fully Friday, Dec. 4, and is probable for Week 13.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford ($6,200, 12.4% of cap) isn't a real good play against the New England Patriots on FantasyScore.

Eagles | Sam Bradford a full participant

Thu, 03 Dec 2015 12:27:42 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford (shoulder) practiced in full for the second straight day Thursday, Dec. 3.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford ($6,200, 12.4% of cap) has passed all his tests in practice this week and is in line to return against the New England Patriots. After sitting two games, this is not the matchup you'd like to see him return to. Avoid Bradford for at least another week.

Eagles | Sam Bradford looking good

Thu, 03 Dec 2015 09:49:49 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford (shoulder) has performed well in practice the last two days, but head coach Chip Kelly said the practice Thursday, Dec. 3, would be another big day for the quarterback.

Fantasy Tip: As long as Bradford ($6,200, 12.4% of cap) doesn't suffer a setback in practice, he should be expected to return against the New England Patriots this weekend. Facing the Pats coming off their first loss on the road isn't ideal for Bradford or his fantasy owners. Look the other way on FantasyScore.

Eagles | Sam Bradford, Zach Ertz full go

Wed, 02 Dec 2015 12:30:39 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford (shoulder) and TE Zach Ertz (concussion) both participated fully in practice Wednesday, Dec. 2.

Fantasy Tip: The Eagles have been one of the most disappointing offenses in football this year, largely due to Bradford ($6,200, 12.4% of cap) and Ertz ($3,300, 6.6%). Plus, the New England Patriots' defense has been extremely unkind to opposing quarterbacks and tight ends this season. Bradford and Ertz are both avoidable.

Eagles | Sam Bradford expects to play

Wed, 02 Dec 2015 10:51:02 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford (shoulder) said he expects to play in Week 13, barring a setback.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford ($6,200, 12.4% of cap) takes on the New England Patriots this week, and they've been one of the best at limiting opposing QBs the last five weeks. Bradford isn't a real sound option on FantasyScore this week.

Eagles | Sam Bradford with big test Tuesday

Tue, 01 Dec 2015 07:27:27 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford (shoulder) will practice Tuesday, Dec. 1, which will serve as a big test to determine his status for Week 13 against the New England Patriots. If he comes away OK, he'll be on pace to start the game Sunday, Dec. 6.

Fantasy Tip: The Pats don't pose a healthy matchup for Bradford ($6,200, 12.4% of cap), who would make a shaky midrange selection on FantasyScore.

Eagles | Ryan Mathews among Eagles' inactives

Thu, 26 Nov 2015 08:10:40 -0800

The Philadelphia Eagles have declared DL Brandon Bair, CB Denzel Rice, WR Jonathan Krause, RB Ryan Mathews, QB Sam Bradford, OT Tanner Hawkinson, TE Zach Ertz inactive for Week 12.

Fantasy Tip: DeMarco Murray ($6,800, 13.6% of cap) will face a Detroit Lions defense that is in the median against the position the last five weeks. He could see more red zone opportunities with Mathews out. Murray is a high-end RB2 on FantasyScore.

Eagles | Sam Bradford inactive Thursday

Thu, 26 Nov 2015 08:04:52 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford (concussion, shoulder) is inactive Thursday, Nov. 26.

Eagles | Sam Bradford a long shot Thursday

Wed, 25 Nov 2015 09:47:53 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford (concussion, shoulder) is a long shot to play Thursday, Nov. 26, against the Detroit Lions. He practiced fully Wednesday, Nov. 25, and is questionable for Week 12.

Fantasy Tip: Mark Sanchez ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) doesn't present enough upside to skimp at the position on FantasyScore this week.

Eagles | Limited practice for Sam Bradford

Tue, 24 Nov 2015 12:43:47 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford (concussion, shoulder) was a limited participant in practice Tuesday, Nov. 24.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford is out of the concussion protocol, but he's still not guaranteed to start on Thanksgiving against the Detroit Lions. If he is out again, Mark Sanchez ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) should start and would be a decent sleeper choice on FantasyScore, but there are better options at quarterback, too.

Eagles | Sam Bradford had memory loss

Tue, 24 Nov 2015 11:35:39 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford (shoulder, concussion) had "some memory loss" after sustaining a concussion in Week 10, and he also said his separated left shoulder could keep him out again versus the Detroit Lions in Week 12 Thursday, Nov. 26. "(The decision depends on) how it progresses from here to game time," Bradford said, "and whether myself and the coaches feel comfortable with me out there playing. It feels better today than it did yesterday. If it continues to progress, I'd like to be out there." Offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur said Bradford looked good in practice Monday, Nov. 23. QB Mark Sanchez will start again if Bradford isn't ready.

Fantasy Tip: The Lions are a top-10 fantasy matchup for quarterbacks, but Bradford ($6,200, 12.4% of cap) would be a sizable risk this week. Sanchez ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) didn't look good in his start last week and wouldn't be a popular daily addition if he makes a second straight start.

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford (concussion, shoulder) cleared the concussion protocol Tuesday, Nov. 24, but it's unknown if he'll start Thursday, Nov. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford ($6,200, 12.4% of cap) or Mark Sanchez ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) will get the call against the Detroit Lions. However, neither has a lot of upside on FantasyScore right now.

Eagles | Sam Bradford limited

Mon, 23 Nov 2015 12:04:01 -0800

Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford (concussion) was limited in practice Monday, Nov. 23.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford's status will need to be monitored throughout the week. The Eagles are on a short week, which obviously works against Bradford. If Bradford sits again, Mark Sanchez would get another start, but he's a backup fantasy quarterback right now.

Eagles | Sam Bradford back at practice

Mon, 23 Nov 2015 10:39:51 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford (shoulder, concussion) was back at practice Monday, Nov. 23, for the first time since he was injured in Week 10. Bradford did everything the other quarterbacks did in the portion open to the media, and it looked like he might put in a full practice. It's unknown if Bradford will play in Week 12 on a short week against the Detroit Lions Thursday, Nov. 26.

Fantasy Tip: After Mark Sanchez was underwhelming replacing Bradford on Sunday, the Eagles will surely be ready to return to Bradford if he's healthy enough to play. Keep track of his practice status leading up to the Thanksgiving Day game. The Lions are a top-10 fantasy matchup for quarterbacks, so Bradford could very well be a notable value pick at the position if he plays.

Eagles | Mark Sanchez could keep starting job

Sun, 22 Nov 2015 08:15:58 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Mark Sanchez, who will start Week 11's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is also expected to start Week 12's game versus the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Day. With strong performances against both clubs, he could continue to serve as the starting quarterback even after QB Sam Bradford (concussion, shoulder) is deemed healthy enough to resume playing.

Fantasy Tip: Sanchez ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) moves the Eagles' offense at a faster pace than Bradford ($6,700, 13.4% of cap), although his penchant to turn the ball over will keep him from being a reliable option under center in FantasyScore. Entering Week 11's game, Sanchez has 82 touchdown passes and 81 interceptions in his career.

Fri, 20 Nov 2015 09:32:16 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Mark Sanchez will start Sunday, Nov. 22, against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with QB Sam Bradford (shoulder, concussion) out.

Eagles | Sam Bradford out through Week 12?

Thu, 19 Nov 2015 18:52:07 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford (concussion, shoulder) will not be able to play in Week 11 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or Week 12 against the Detroit Lions, according to a source familiar with the situation. The source said there is "no way" Bradford will play in the next two games because of his separated left shoulder.

Fantasy Tip: Mark Sanchez ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) will likely be under center if Bradford is sidelined, but he is a high-risk, high-reward play at FantasyScore at the helm of Chip Kelly's offense.

Fantasy Tip: Mark Sanchez ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) is expected to be under center against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, he's not a play with a lot of upside on FantasyScore.

Eagles | Sam Bradford has separated shoulder

Wed, 18 Nov 2015 10:38:46 -0800

Updating previous reports, Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford (shoulder, concussion) had an MRI confirm a separated left shoulder Wednesday, Nov. 18. He wants to play in Week 11, but the team will see how he feels later in the week.

Fantasy Tip: It's likely that Mark Sanchez ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) will draw the start against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The middling matchup, and his shaky upside make him an iffy one-week streamer on FantasyScore.

Eagles | Mark Sanchez favors faster pace

Wed, 18 Nov 2015 09:12:19 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Mark Sanchez ran the offense at a faster pace last year in head coach Chip Kelly's system, and the expectation is that the tempo of the offense will pick up if Sanchez has to start in place of QB Sam Bradford (shoulder, concussion) in Week 11 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. "Mark's probably a little bit more conscious of the tempo," OT Lane Johnson said. "He may go at a little bit faster pace than what Sam is, so other than that, probably just the tempo may be a little bit faster." Kelly and offensive coordinator have said that the offense won't change much this week if Sanchez has to start.

Fantasy Tip: Sanchez ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) didn't look too good running the offense in place of Bradford last weekend. A faster offensive pace could mean more chances for all of Philly's weapons, though, including Bradford, and the Bucs are a top-10 matchup in fantasy for quarterbacks. Sanchez certainly is worth a peek as a sleeper pick on FantasyScore.
