Vikings | Sam Bradford could return this year

Sat, 21 Oct 2017 05:46:19 -0700

Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer believes QB Sam Bradford (knee) will be able to resume playing later this season.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford was ruled out for Week 7's game versus the Baltimore Ravens after not practicing at all during the week and no official timetable has been established for his return. Case Keenum will continue to serve as the Vikings' starter in his absence but only has value in two-quarterback leagues or as a possible bye-week replacement.

Vikings | Sam Bradford to sit versus Baltimore

Fri, 20 Oct 2017 10:49:19 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) has been ruled out and Case Keenum will start again versus the Baltimore Ravens in Week 7, according to head coach Mike Zimmer.

Fantasy Tip: As expected. Keenum is not an advisable streaming option most weeks and this one is no exception. Bradford has yet to practice since aggravating his knee injury in Week 5 and remains without a timeline. It might not be long before Teddy Bridgewater gets a chance.

Vikings | No practice for Sam Bradford

Thu, 19 Oct 2017 14:09:16 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) missed practice Thursday, Oct. 19.

Fantasy Tip: It seems as though Bradford will be sidelined for at least this week. He'll have some tough competition to best when he returns, too, with Teddy Bridgewater (knee) on the mend and Case Keenum playing well. Still, no Vikings quarterback can be trusted as a consistent weekly starter and Keenum is comfortably in QB2 territory this week versus a stingy Baltimore Ravens pass defense.

Vikings | Sam Bradford does not practice

Wed, 18 Oct 2017 13:46:23 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 18.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford has so much talent, but he just cannot stay healthy. It appears Case Keenum might be headed for another start in Week 7 against the Baltimore Ravens, but check back officially on Friday.

Vikings | Sam Bradford undergoing treatments on knee

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 05:47:52 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) began Regenokine treatments in New York this past week in an attempt to eliminate swelling from his left knee, according to multiple sources. Through the process, blood is removed from the patient's knee, spun down and then reinjected into the body over a span of five or six days.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford has already been ruled out for Week 6's game against the Green Bay Packers and there is no timetable for his return. Case Keenum will start in his place and could be useful in two-quarterback leagues or as a bye-week replacement.

Vikings | Sam Bradford ruled out Week 6

Fri, 13 Oct 2017 09:56:10 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) will not play in Week 6 against the Green Bay Packers.

Fantasy Tip: It was painful to watch Bradford in Week 5, as he was pulled right before halftime when it became obvious he was struggling to protect himself and hurting the offense at the same time. Considering he didn't look any better than he did after three weeks off, he may not be coming back anytime soon. Case Keenum will get another start and figures to be a serviceable option for those owners who are in a pinch due to Dak Prescott and Russell Wilson being on a bye.

Vikings | Sam Bradford sits Thursday

Thu, 12 Oct 2017 11:25:30 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (foot) did not practice Thursday, Oct. 12.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford appears to be headed for a doubtful designation in Week 6, which means Case Keenum will probably make another start. Keenum's matchup with the Green Bay Packers isn't one that makes him an automatic start. He remains in backup fantasy quarterback territory.

Vikings | Sam Bradford misses practice

Wed, 11 Oct 2017 13:16:38 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) was not at practice Wednesday, Oct. 11, as he continues to recover from his knee issue.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford aggravated the injury Monday night, so don't be surprised to see the Vikings give him another week off and go with Case Keenum again. Keenum has held his own this year and doesn't rule out Stefon Diggs (if healthy), Adam Thielen or Kyle Rudolph as Week 6 starters.

Vikings | Sam Bradford has MRI

Tue, 10 Oct 2017 22:20:23 -0700

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) underwent an MRI Tuesday, Oct. 10, that showed no new damage in his knee. Trainer Eric Sugarman said there's no ligament damage, and that Bradford did not suffer a bone bruise. Bradford remains day to day.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford didn't look right Monday, and with only six days to prepare it seems unlikely they'll put him out there again until he's closer to fully recovered. Look for Case Keenum to make the start, though his appeal is minimal even against a Packers secondary that could be down two starters.

Vikings | Sam Bradford aggravated knee injury

Tue, 10 Oct 2017 05:09:21 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) aggravated his knee injury in the first half Monday, Oct. 9. Head coach Mike Zimmer said Bradford's recovery timetable would be day to day and that he wasn't sure on which play Bradford was re-injured.

Fantasy Tip: It's a shorter turnaround to face the Green Bay Packers in Week 6, and if history is any indication, Bradford won't be playing. Case Keenum has looked suitable in his absence, but he offers little in fantasy except in leagues you start two QBs.

Vikings | Sam Bradford ineffective before exit

Mon, 09 Oct 2017 23:31:14 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford completed just five of 11 passes for 36 yards before exiting his team's Week 5 game Monday, Oct. 9, against the Chicago Bears.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford may have returned a little too early from injury, as he just didn't have it here and couldn't get anything going, hence why he was removed from the contest for backup Case Keenum. It's possible he is sidelined for another couple of weeks, if not more, but after Keenum stepped in and looked solid, this won't be as much of a downgrade for the skill players in Minnesota as initially thought. Still, though, it's unfortunate that Bradford is once again hobbled.

Vikings | Sam Bradford removed from game

Mon, 09 Oct 2017 19:24:54 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) was pulled from the game Monday, Oct. 9, against the Chicago Bears. He looked rusty and, after taking six hits, "appeared gimpy," leading the team to replace him with QB Case Keenum.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford was ineffective in his first game since Week 1, though all the blame shouldn't be pinned on him, as the Bears defense looked as good as it has been all season, constantly getting to the quarterback. It's an unfortunate turn of events for the former No. 1 overall draft pick, who had an incredible season opener before enduring his latest injury woes. With Case Keenum back in under center, that could mean a downgrade for all skill players on offense.

Vikings | Sam Bradford officially active

Mon, 09 Oct 2017 16:20:40 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) is officially active for the team's Week 5 game.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford returns after missing the last three games because of the injury. He played well in Week 1 and has good chemistry with Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen. Bradford can be a starting option if owners decided to wait for a starting quarterback.

Vikings | Sam Bradford expected to start

Mon, 09 Oct 2017 05:45:52 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) is expected to start Monday, Oct. 9, against the Chicago Bears. Head coach Mike Zimmer told ESPN in a production meeting that Bradford is expected to go.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford isn't a good start against the Chicago Bears this week as a bye-week filler.

Vikings | Sam Bradford works with starters at practice

Sun, 08 Oct 2017 07:18:23 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (ankle) received most of the snaps with the first-team offense during practice this week, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: It appears Bradford has a good chance to play in Week 5, but owners will need to check the inactive list to find out his status. He is a risky option since the Vikings play on Monday Night Football, so owners can consider starting another quarterback this week.

Vikings | Sam Bradford listed as questionable

Sat, 07 Oct 2017 11:13:17 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) fully participated in practice Saturday, Oct. 7, but is listed as questionable for Week 5.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford has missed the last three games because of the injury but appears to have a chance to play in Week 5 after full practicing the last two days. He will be a risky option since he plays on Monday Night Football, so owners may want to consider other options if they are available.

Vikings | Sam Bradford practices again Saturday

Sat, 07 Oct 2017 09:41:02 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) participated in practice again Saturday, Oct. 7.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford was limited in practice each of the first two days of the week and was likely limited Saturday as well, but it is a positive development and creates optimism he will be able to play against the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football. Although it would be difficult to rely on Bradford without official confirmation from the team, his return is good news for Stefon Diggs, Adam Thielen and Kyle Rudolph.

Vikings | Sam Bradford trending in the right direction

Fri, 06 Oct 2017 10:14:55 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) told reporters Friday, Oct. 6, it is "night and day" how much better his knee feels with two weeks off in between practices. Bradford stated he will likely have to play through discomfort all season and acknowledged he will have to see how he feels after practice Saturday, Oct. 7, before determining whether or not he can play on Monday Night Football against the Chicago Bears to end Week 5.

Fantasy Tip: While Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen have continued to play at a high level with Case Keenum, Kyle Rudolph has also all but disappeared from the offense with Bradford out. If Bradford is cleared sometime Saturday, he is a worthy two-quarterback start who could be in the streamer discussion in traditional leagues for those owners searching for a bye week replacement for a quarterback like Matt Ryan.

Vikings | Sam Bradford limited Thursday

Thu, 05 Oct 2017 16:23:51 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 5.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford may have a chance to play this week, but owners will know more about his status later in the week. He has missed the last three games because of the injury and is a risky option for owners. Owners may want to consider other quarterback options for their lineups.

Vikings | Sam Bradford to practice

Thu, 05 Oct 2017 09:31:53 -0700

Minnesota Vikings RB Sam Bradford (knee) will practice Thursday, Oct. 5, and they'll wait and see how he feels moving forward.

Fantasy Tip: The Vikings face the Chicago Bears this week, and despite Chicago's 1-3 record, they've been solid against opposing QBs. If Bradford goes, he's not a real good start.

Vikings | Sam Bradford to miss another game

Thu, 28 Sep 2017 13:30:46 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) has been ruled out of the team's Week 4 game, according to head coach Mike Zimmer. QB Case Keenum will receive his third straight start.

Fantasy Tip: It is not known when Bradford will be able to return, so owners should keep an eye on the situation. Keenum is coming off an outstanding Week 3 performance where he threw for 369 yards and three touchdowns. Keenum will be facing a solid Detroit Lions defense but could be a low-end No. 1 fantasy quarterback in deeper leagues.

Vikings | Sam Bradford not practicing

Thu, 28 Sep 2017 11:41:41 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) was not present for practice Thursday, Sept. 28.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford has yet to practice this week. It looks like another "doubtful" status is headed his way. Case Keenum lit up the football field in Week 3, but counting on him as your starter versus the Detroit Lions could prove folly.

Vikings | Sam Bradford a no-go Wednesday

Wed, 27 Sep 2017 10:14:58 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) did not practice Wednesday, Sept. 27, but head coach Mike Zimmer told reporters "we're doing everything (we) can to get him ready" for Week 4 against the Detroit Lions.

Fantasy Tip: Given how well Case Keenum played against an undermanned Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense, Zimmer may try to give Bradford one more week to heal up. The Lions have been incredibly opportunistic this season, however, and Keenum can't be counted on to repeat his Week 3 performance against them. Last week's effort should ease owners' minds about starting Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen, however.

Vikings | Sam Bradford day-to-day

Mon, 25 Sep 2017 12:29:02 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) is back at the team facility and is considered day-to-day, according to head coach Mike Zimmer.

Fantasy Tip: If Bradford is even off to a limited start in practice this week then that will be a good sign. Consider, though, that the Vikings may want to rest him another week to get him fully healthy, especially after the career game Case Keenum constructed in Week 3. Have a backup plan ready in case Bradford sits again.

Vikings | Sam Bradford remains week-to-week

Sun, 24 Sep 2017 07:51:47 -0700

A second opinion from Dr. James Andrews confirmed that Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) has no structural damage in his left knee, according to multiple sources. He is considered week-to-week due to a bone bruise.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford practiced on a limited basis twice last week before being ruled out for Week 3's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He will rest for the foreseeable future in order to allow the joint to calm down. Case Keenum will continue to start in Bradford's absence but he should not be considered a viable option in any fantasy format. Owners of players such as Kyle Rudolph, Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs should expect a decline in offensive production as long as Bradford is sidelined.

Vikings | Sam Bradford seeks second opinion

Fri, 22 Sep 2017 15:21:28 -0700

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) is out for Week 3 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and he is seeking a second opinion on his ailing knee.

Fantasy Tip: It's uncertain when Bradford will be able to return to game action, so it will be Case Keenum under center again this Sunday. That news immediately means a downgrade to the fantasy value of Stefon Diggs, Kyle Rudolph, Adam Thielen, etc. Diggs and Thielen should only be considered as WR3 or WR4 plays, while Rudolph remains a low-end TE1 for his ability in the red zone. The Buccaneers DST is also a favorable unit to play against Keenum.

Vikings | Sam Bradford ruled out Week 3

Fri, 22 Sep 2017 10:40:29 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) has been ruled out for Week 3 versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to head coach Mike Zimmer.

Fantasy Tip: While it's a bummer for Bradford's owners hoping for an encore to his Week 1 performance, owners of Kyle Rudolph, Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen are probably the most upset by this news, as backup Case Keenum is a considerable step down from Bradford. Rudolph is still worth a start in most leagues, but Diggs and Thielen are probably WR3s at best. Streamers of defense/special teams units should feel good about the Buccaneers this week, however.

Vikings | Sam Bradford limited

Thu, 21 Sep 2017 13:46:31 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Sept. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford is shaping up to be a legitimate game-time decision. It would behoove Bradford owners to have a backup plan in place in case Bradford is sidelined again. That backup plan should not be Case Keenum.

Vikings | Sam Bradford puts in limited practice

Wed, 20 Sep 2017 13:49:09 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Sept. 20.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford could be a game-time decision again this week, so have a backup plan in place in case. Case Keenum is not a good backup plan. Pick up someone like Josh McCown, Jacoby Brissett or DeShone Kizer if you're really desperate.

Wed, 20 Sep 2017 08:33:30 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) was feeling better Tuesday, Sept. 19, and he's being considered day to day, according to head coach Mike Zimmer.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford hasn't been a particularly quick healer in his career, and he's anything but a safe bet to play in Week 3 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If he goes, he's still a backup option in fantasy.

Vikings | Sam Bradford dealing with bruise?

Mon, 18 Sep 2017 11:51:32 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) is believed to have a bone bruise in his injured knee, according to a source. Bradford will be given an injection after which the Vikings will assess how the knee responds and go from there.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford's absence was evident in the Vikings' Week 2 loss. The offense sputtered coming off a supremely successful Week 1 outing. Have a backup plan at quarterback in place for now. Case Keenum will start again if Bradford can't play, but don't start Keenum in traditional fantasy leagues.

Sat, 16 Sep 2017 13:04:39 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) traveled with the team for their Week 2 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers but is still questionable for the game.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford may be a game-time decision for the game, so owners will need to check the inactive list. Fantasy Tip: Bradford probably will be active for the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but owners will need to check on his status before the game.
