"It will slow down for two or three days, but hopefully sooner than later," Anthopoulos said when asked for a timeframe on his managerial search. "I don't have a specific timeline, but we're making progress, moving in the right direction, moving along."

The only outfielders currently on the roster are OFs Jose Bautista, Adam Lind and Travis Snider. OFs Jeremy Reed and Joey Gathright will be given a chance to join the big league roster in Spring Training. Lind is expected to serve as the primary designated hitter. Snider could begin the season with Triple-A Las Vegas.

Former assistant general manager Tony LaCava was named director of player personnel, Charlie Wilson was named director of minor league operations and former Double-A manager Doug Davis was named minor league field coordinator. The Blue Jays also hired Andrew Tinnish as director of amateur scouting, Perry Minasias as director of professional scouting and Jon Lalonde as a professional scout. Director of player development Dick Scott, scout Rob Ducey and Triple-A manager Mike Basso were fired.
