The St. Louis Cardinals noticed a flaw in RP Victor Marte's pre-pitch routine and delivery. If fixed, he's expected to cut back on the leads that baserunners are getting. He's allowed three stolen bases in his last 1 2/3 frames.

The St. Louis Cardinals placed RP Scott Linebrink (shoulder) on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder capsulitis, also known as frozen shoulder, Friday, April 6. The move is retroactive to March 30. In a corresponding move, RP Victor Marte had his contract purchased.

St. Louis Cardinals RP Scott Linebrink (lat) is being examined for pain in the area near his right shoulder Thursday, April 5, and he's expected to be put on the 15-day disabled list. RP Victor Marte joined the team Wednesday, April 4.

The St. Louis Cardinals optioned P Victor Marte, C Bryan Anderson and INF Eugenio Velez to Triple-A Memphis Friday, March 30, in order to finalize their opening day 25-man roster. OFs Shane Robinson and Erik Komatsu earned bench spots. OF Allen Craig (knee), 2B Skip Schumaker (oblique) and SP Chris Carpenter (shoulder) will begin on the disabled list.

Swindle each threw batting practice Wednesday, Feb. 29. Lohse drew the 'A' hitting group, facing 1B Lance Berkman, C Yadier Molina and OFs Carlos Beltran and Matt Holliday.
