The Washington Nationals have placed SP Scott Olsen and RP Jesse English on waivers, according to MLB.com's Bill Ladson. English had been optioned to Triple-A Syracuse but will become a Minor League free agent at 5 p.m. ET on Saturday, Nov. 6.

Updating previous items, Zach Berman, of The Washington Post, reports Washington Nationals OF Mike Morse (calf) and RP Jesse English (calf) both suffered calf injuries Wednesday, April 7, but the team is not concerned with either injury. Manager Jim Riggleman said Morse would be available in an emergency Thursday, April 8. English is available to pitch Thursday, according to Riggleman.

The Washington Post reports the Washington Nationals have nearly set up their bullpen for the 2010 season. The safe spots, according to baseball writer Adam Kilgore, appear to be RPs Matt Capps, Brian Bruney, Sean Burnett, Tyler Clippard and Jason Bergmann. Two spots appear to be open for competition between RPs Tyler Walker, J.D. Martin, Craig Stammen, Miguel Batista and Jesse English.
