The Toronto Blue Jays placed SP Dustin McGowan (shoulder) and RP Michael Schwimer (shoulder) on the 15-day disabled list Sunday, March 31. McGowan is dealing with a sore right shoulder, and Schwimer is nursing a strained right shoulder. McGowan's move is retroactive to March 27, while Schwimer's move is retroactive to March 22.

Philadelphia Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said the team traded RP Michael Schwimer to the Toronto Blue Jays in order to free up space on the 40-man roster. In addition, he felt the team has enough bullpen depth.
