Thu, 02 May 2013 10:51:08 -0700 Chicago Cubs SS Starlin Castro batted fifth for the second straight contest on Wednesday, May 1, but manager Dale Sveum said the change was so that the Cubs could take advantage of 3B Cody Ransom's historically good performance against southpaws. Entering that game, Ransom was 6-for-16 with three home runs against left-handers; Castro was batting .206 against left-handed pitching. Castro has a career .303 batting average when batting fifth and a .299 BA when batting second. Fantasy Tip: Castro's sheer ability with the bat should dictate that he never hits at the bottom of any order besides an All-Star team's. It can be tiresome for managers to answer questions about every little change they make, but it comes with the territory. Anyway, this is highly unlikely to affect Castro's fantasy output negatively.

"It's kind of a non-issue now," manager Dale Sveum said. "Because we have the luxury to do it, we're going to make sure he's completely healthy, even though he's completely healthy now. He'll get plenty of playing time going into the season so there's no reason to rush it."
