San Francisco Giants SP Matt Cain (elbow) was placed on the 15-day disabled list with right elbow inflammation. 1B Brandon Belt (concussion) was placed on the 7-day disabled list. 3B Adam Duvall and RP George Kontos were recalled from Triple-A Fresno. The team announced P Yusmeiro Petit will start in place of Cain Tuesday, July 22.
Fantasy Tip: Petit has some NL-only value as he pitched well in his spot starts recently. Cain could only miss a couple of weeks if tests have revealed only inflammation.
