San Francisco Giants 1B Brandon Belt (thumb) went 1-for-4 with a double and two strikeouts in a rehab game with Triple-A Fresno Tuesday, July 1, and he's now 11-for-21 (.523) with three home runs on his rehab assignment. However, manager Bruce Bochy said Belt is feeling some pain in his thumb, and the team wants him to have more at-bats in the minors before activating him from the disabled list.
Fantasy Tip: Belt is pretty darn close to returning. If he doesn't have any more soreness in his thumb after a few more rehab games, he could be back with the team as early as Friday evening.

Fantasy Tip: It appears as though Belt's thumb isn't bothering him at all when he hits, and it may not be long before the Giants feel he's ready to return to their lineup. Check to see if an owner was impatient and let Belt go.
