Padres | Wil Myers still out

Sat, 03 Oct 2015 16:16:25 -0700

San Diego Padres OF Wil Myers (wrist) is out of the lineup Saturday, Oct. 3, with OF Travis Jankowski hitting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Jankowski ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) has the misfortune of battling Zack Greinke and isn't a good start on FantasyScore.

Padres | Wil Myers sitting against Dodgers

Fri, 02 Oct 2015 14:42:01 -0700

San Diego Padres OF Wil Myers (wrist) is not in the starting lineup Friday, Oct. 2. 1B Cody Decker draws into the lineup and is batting seventh against Los Angeles Dodgers SP Alex Wood Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Myers ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) left the game Thursday, Oct. 1, because of soreness in his left wrist, which is the same wrist he had surgically repaired in June, and he missed several games due to wrist soreness last week. Myers is a desperation start/own in all fantasy formats at this stage of the season. Decker ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has just six career plate appearances and is nothing more than a desperation source of cap relief at FantasyScore Friday.

Thu, 01 Oct 2015 17:15:18 -0700

San Diego Padres OF Wil Myers (wrist) left the game against the Milwaukee Brewers Thursday, Oct. 1, because of soreness in his left wrist.

Fantasy Tip: This is the same wrist that Myers ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) had surgically repaired in June and he missed several games due to soreness last week. He should not be counted on in FantasyScore for the remainder of the regular season.

Padres | Wil Myers, Yangervis Solarte back in there

Thu, 24 Sep 2015 16:01:57 -0700

San Diego Padres OF Wil Myers (wrist) and 3B Yangervis Solarte (hamstring) are both back in the starting lineup against San Francisco Giants SP Madison Bumgarner Thursday, Sept. 24, after leaving the game early the previous night.

Fantasy Tip: Myers ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) and Solarte ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) are strictly contrarian options for FantasyScore gamers tonight, especially with both coming off injuries. Solarte, especially, has been much less effective when hitting from the right side this year against southpaws.

Padres | Wil Myers' wrist flares up

Thu, 24 Sep 2015 06:08:04 -0700

Updating a previous report, San Diego Padres OF Wil Myers (wrist) was out of the lineup Wednesday, Sept 23, due to soreness in his left wrist.

Fantasy Tip: Myers ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) had surgery on the wrist earlier this season, so his status is unknown. Travis Jankowski ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) filled in for him, but he has little FantasyScore value.

Padres | Wil Myers scratched from lineup

Wed, 23 Sep 2015 19:00:42 -0700

San Diego Padres OF Wil Myers (undisclosed) was scratched from the starting lineup against the San Francisco Giants Wednesday, Sept. 23. OF Travis Jankowski will play center field and bat eighth, while INF Yangervis Solarte will play third base and bat leadoff.

Fantasy Tip: Remove Myers ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) from your fantasy lineups. Jankowski ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) is batting just .188 during the month of September and is not a great outfield option in FantasyScore.

Padres | Justin Upton receiving a breather

Wed, 16 Sep 2015 15:27:03 -0700

San Diego Padres OF Justin Upton is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, Sept. 16. OF Wil Myers moves back to the outfield, while 1B Brett Wallace draws the start at first base and is hitting cleanup against Arizona Diamondbacks SP Robbie Ray.

Fantasy Tip: Wallace ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) surprisingly has been good against lefties this year mainly in a pinch-hitting role. You shouldn't test that any further with him on FantasyScore tonight, though. Avoid him.

Padres | Wil Myers out of lineup

Sun, 13 Sep 2015 13:00:42 -0700

San Diego Padres OF Wil Myers is not in the starting lineup against San Francisco Giants SP Mike Leake Sunday, Sept. 13. OF Travis Jankowski will bat eighth and play center field.

Fantasy Tip: Jankowski ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) is just 1-for-16 this month and is batting .182 for the season, so he should be avoided in FantasyScore.

Padres | Justin Upton resting Thursday

Thu, 10 Sep 2015 10:20:27 -0700

San Diego Padres OF Justin Upton is not in the starting lineup Thursday, Sept. 10. OF Wil Myers is moving to left field and is hitting leadoff against Colorado Rockies SP Jorge De La Rosa.

Fantasy Tip: Myers ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) followed up his home run Tuesday night with three more hits and two RBI in a rout of the Rockies last night. It's safe to say his wrists is healthy and his timing at the plate is back. Continue to ride him against the lefty at a manageable price.

Padres | Yonder Alonso out vs. southpaw

Wed, 09 Sep 2015 15:01:42 -0700

San Diego Padres 1B Yonder Alonso is not in the lineup against Colorado Rockies left-handed SP Chris Rusin Wednesday, Sept. 9. OF Wil Myers is starting at first base and is hitting leadoff.

Fantasy Tip: Myers ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) hadn't done much since returning from the DL until he hit a solo homer last night in the team's win. That's an encouraging sign that his swing is back and his power has returned after a bad wrist problem. He's a nice value play on FantasyScore tonight against a lefty.
