The Arizona Diamondbacks aren't saying how long SP Randall Delgado may stay in the starting rotation after taking the spot of SP Tyler Skaggs. The team didn't use P Josh Collmenter for the rotation because they think he fits best in a long-relief role. Manager Kirk Gibson isn't committing to Delgado past his start Tuesday, June 18, though.
Fantasy Tip: Delgado is making the start in place of Brandon McCarthy (shoulder). How Delgado fares tonight will likely determine if he'll remain in the rotation or if the D-backs will recall Tyler Skaggs. Delgado is purely NL-only fodder right now.

The Arizona Diamondbacks placed RP Matt Reynolds (elbow) on the disabled list with a strained left elbow and optioned SP Tyler Skaggs to Triple-A Reno. They recalled Ps Joe Paterson and Charles Brewer from Reno.
Fantasy Tip: Skaggs may be back at some point, but the highly regarded prospect is safe to drop in most single-year mixed leagues. We'll update on who Arizona selects as his rotation replacement.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Daniel Hudson (elbow) suffered another tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow Tuesday, June 4, and the team is exploring all of their medical options.
Fantasy Tip: Hudson will almost certainly miss the rest of the season and most of next year, as well. It's a tough break for one of their better young pitchers. It means Tyler Skaggs has a better shot to stick around in the rotation for the rest of the season, though, giving deep mixed league managers more incentive to pick him up.

The Arizona Diamondbacks officially recalled SP Tyler Skaggs Tuesday, June 4, and optioned SP Randall Delgado to the minors in a corresponding move. Also, the team signed free-agent 1B Mike Jacobs (Mariners) to a minor league deal.
Fantasy Tip: Skaggs should be added in most leagues with Brandon McCarthy on the disabled list. Skaggs pitched well in his first start this year last week against the Texas Rangers. He draws another challenging start against the St. Louis Cardinals tonight.

Arizona Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said SP Tyler Skaggs will be recalled to make his second start of the year against the St. Louis Cardinals Tuesday, June 4.
Fantasy Tip: Skaggs should be added in pretty much all formats with Brandon McCarthy landing on the disabled list over the weekend. McCarthy could be out for an extended period, and Skaggs proved last week that he can be successful in the bigs against good lineups. If he proves himself, there's a chance he could stick around for the rest of the season.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Tyler Skaggs is an option to be called up and start Tuesday, June 4.
Fantasy Tip: He was electric in his first spot start earlier this week. Start claiming him with Brandon McCarthy out.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have recalled P Randall Delgado from Triple-A Reno to replace injured SP Brandon McCarthy (shoulder) on the 25-man roster. However, SP Tyler Skaggs is likely to be recalled from Reno to replace McCarthy in the rotation Tuesday, June 4, against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Tue, 28 May 2013 13:11:09 -0700
The Arizona Diamondbacks optioned SP Tyler Skaggs to Triple-A Reno Tuesday, May 28.
Fantasy Tip: Skaggs looked good in six innings against the Texas Rangers Monday, giving up no runs and only three hits while striking out a career-high nine hitters. He was called up to pitch the second game of a doubleheader. Skaggs, the team's top pitching prospect, should be back up with the team later this year and should be an option in most mixed leagues.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Ian Kennedy (finger) has been scratched from his scheduled start against the Texas Rangers Monday, May 27, after he cut his right index finger while washing the dishes. He will be replaced by SP Tyler Skaggs, who will be recalled from Triple-A Reno. Manager Kirk Gibson said the injury happened a few days ago and Kennedy attempted to throw a bullpen session while wearing a bandage Saturday, May 25. The team considered multiple options that would have allowed Kennedy to pitch, including glue, but eventually decided upon letting it heal on its own.
