Cincinnati Reds manager Dusty Baker said Tuesday, June 4, that he thought 3B Todd Frazier is guessing at the plate too much, and Frazier did not deny it. Frazier said it is something hitters do when trying to bust out of a slump. "My brother, Jeff, was the king at it," Frazier said. "I took after him because he said, 'Todd, who cares how you look? You got to get the job done no matter what. If you're swinging at a pitch that's not the one you want, you got to find a way to get on base and get a hit.'"

Cincinnati Reds manager Dusty Baker flip-flopped 3B Todd Frazier and OF Jay Bruce in the batting order Sunday, April 28, with Frazier batting in the No. 5 spot and Bruce batting sixth. One of the reasons is because Bruce has struggled in his career against Washington Nationals SP Ross Detwiler, collecting only one hit in 11 at-bats against the lefty. It is uncertain how long this lineup change will last.

Cincinnati Reds 3B Todd Frazier snapped an 0-for-16 skid with a pair of hits, including a double, in five at-bats Sunday, April 14, against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners need to be patient with Frazier. He has been pretty awful in the past week, but he has plenty of potential. Still, he is only worth using in NL-only fantasy leagues until he starts to hit with more consistency.

Cincinnati Reds 3B Todd Frazier got off to a poor start in spring training, but he has been hot over his past 10 games at the plate. "We've got nine or 10 more games left, I'm just trying to square the ball up basically," Frazier said Friday, March 22. "If you get a hit, you get a hit and if not, you don't. (Manager Dusty Baker) always says when you get that first pitch, to go after it. Squaring balls up is a good sign because it means your bat head is coming through the zone level and you're getting that extension." To improve his defense, Frazier takes grounders with a smaller glove to improve his handwork.

Cincinnati Reds 3B Todd Frazier worked on his agility this offseason to play third base in 2013. "I worked out five days a week, mainly on my footwork at third base," Frazier said. "It's all about reaction, but that first step is really big. I'm working on that a lot here, too."

Cincinnati Reds manager Dusty Baker said Sunday, Jan. 13, that he still hasn't heard from 3B Scott Rolen since before Christmas. Rolen has yet to inform the team whether he wants to play or retire. "It's getting late," Baker said. "Life goes on and business goes on. Since we signed (3B Jack Hannahan), it's getting crowded. Plus, (3B Todd Frazier) deserves a chance to play."
