Reds | Todd Frazier, Jay Bruce switch spots in batting order

Sun, 28 Apr 2013 08:45:45 -0700

Cincinnati Reds manager Dusty Baker flip-flopped 3B Todd Frazier and OF Jay Bruce in the batting order Sunday, April 28, with Frazier batting in the No. 5 spot and Bruce batting sixth. One of the reasons is because Bruce has struggled in his career against Washington Nationals SP Ross Detwiler, collecting only one hit in 11 at-bats against the lefty. It is uncertain how long this lineup change will last.

Reds | Todd Frazier breaks out of slump

Sun, 14 Apr 2013 20:58:02 -0700

Cincinnati Reds 3B Todd Frazier snapped an 0-for-16 skid with a pair of hits, including a double, in five at-bats Sunday, April 14, against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners need to be patient with Frazier. He has been pretty awful in the past week, but he has plenty of potential. Still, he is only worth using in NL-only fantasy leagues until he starts to hit with more consistency.

Reds | Todd Frazier continues to progress

Fri, 22 Mar 2013 20:53:13 -0700

Cincinnati Reds 3B Todd Frazier got off to a poor start in spring training, but he has been hot over his past 10 games at the plate. "We've got nine or 10 more games left, I'm just trying to square the ball up basically," Frazier said Friday, March 22. "If you get a hit, you get a hit and if not, you don't. (Manager Dusty Baker) always says when you get that first pitch, to go after it. Squaring balls up is a good sign because it means your bat head is coming through the zone level and you're getting that extension." To improve his defense, Frazier takes grounders with a smaller glove to improve his handwork.
