Rockies | Jose Reyes out of lineup

Sat, 01 Aug 2015 14:35:52 -0700

Colorado Rockies SS Jose Reyes isn't in the starting lineup Saturday, Aug. 1, against the St. Louis Cardinals. 2B Daniel Descalso will start at shortstop and hit eighth in the lineup against RHP Lance Lynn, while 2B DJ LeMahieu will start at second base and hit second in the order.

Fantasy Tip: LeMahieu ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) has had at least one hit in all but one game since July 3. He doesn't have a home run in that span, but he has hit five doubles, and he has 11 multi-hit games. LeMahieu will continue to be a strong FantasyScore option.

Rockies | DJ LeMahieu continues to roll

Colorado Rockies 2B DJ LeMahieu missed a cycle by a home run Tuesday, July 28, against the Chicago Cubs while scoring a pair of runs. He pushed his career-high hitting streak to 18 games.

Fantasy Tip: LeMahieu ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) is hitting .444 (32-for-72) with 16 runs scored, nine walks and nine RBIs during the outstanding stretch. FantasyScore players need to roll with him until he starts to show signs of cooling off.

Colorado Rockies 2B DJ LeMahieu went 3-for-4 with a double, walk, two runs scored and two RBIs Monday, July 27, against the Chicago Cubs to push his hitting streak to 17 games.

Fantasy Tip: LeMahieu ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) is hitting .426 (29-for-68) with 14 runs scored and eight RBIs during the impressive stretch. Keep rolling with him in FantasyScore until he slows down considerably.

Rockies | DJ LeMahieu streak at baker's dozen

Wed, 22 Jul 2015 18:22:28 -0700

Colorado Rockies 2B DJ LeMahieu went 2-for-4 with a run scored, RBI and walk Wednesday, July 22, against the Texas Rangers to push his hitting streak to 13 games. He also had a stolen base.

Fantasy Tip: LeMahieu ($4,800; or 9.6% of cap) is hitting .423 (22-for-52) during his hitting streak, the longest active run in the majors, while posting eight runs scored and four RBIs. Needless to say, ride him in FantasyScore until the wave crashes.

Rockies | Charlie Blackmon has day off

Wed, 22 Jul 2015 09:58:02 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Charlie Blackmon is out of the lineup Wednesday, July 22, with 2B DJ LeMahieu moving up to the leadoff spot.

Fantasy Tip: LeMahieu ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) faces off against Martin Perez today, and he's hitting .364 this month. He's a bit pricey because he doesn't do damage, but he's a midrange option on FantasyScore.

Rockies | DJ LeMahieu bumped up

Sat, 18 Jul 2015 13:32:57 -0700

Colorado Rockies 2B DJ LeMahieu is hitting second Saturday, July 18, against San Diego Padres SP Tyson Ross.

Fantasy Tip: LeMahieu ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) is 7-for-15 (.467) the last seven days, but he only has one homer and four RBI in the last 30 days. That miniscule amount of damage makes him a risk at this price on FantasyScore.

Rockies | DJ LeMahieu finished first half strong

Wed, 15 Jul 2015 16:35:52 -0700

Colorado Rockies 2B DJ LeMahieu has an active eight-game hitting streak with five runs, two RBI and a .469/.514/.500 slash line.

Fantasy Tip: Seasonal owners will be happy to see LeMahieu ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) heat up entering the All-Star break. He was beginning to fade with just a .157/.222/.229 line over his previous 21 games. FantasyScore players can turn to LeMahieu in favorable matchups, but his upside is somewhat limited due to his lack of power, so he is reliant on his teammates to help his RBI and run scored production. Still, he remains a solid middle-tier second baseman in the majority of fantasy formats.

Rockies | DJ LeMahieu dropped in order

Thu, 09 Jul 2015 14:16:31 -0700

Colorado Rockies 2B DJ LeMahieu is hitting sixth against Atlanta Braves SP Alex Wood Thursday, July 9.

Fantasy Tip: LeMahieu ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) is mainly batting-average dependent, and he's due for even more regression on his batting average on balls in play (BABIP), so beware not to overvalue his great first half of the season. Otherwise, he typically fails to fill out the stat sheet with mediocre power and little speed. Using him at home at Coors Field always has value potential, though, especially against a left-hander. LeMahieu is hitting .313 (21-for-67) against southpaws, but he has none of his four homers against them.

Rockies | DJ LeMahieu notches three hits

Tue, 07 Jul 2015 20:50:54 -0700

Colorado Rockies 2B DJ LeMahieu went 3-for-4 during the Rockies 10-2 loss to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Tuesday, July 7.

Fantasy Tip: The outing improved LeMahieu's ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) year-long slash line to .304/.356/.392. However, he entered the contest sporting a .158/.229/.211 line over his past 19 games, and he is struggling to return value on his FantasyScore salary. Seasonal owners can afford a longer leash with LeMahieu, though, especially hitting predominately in the two-hole of the lineup.

Rockies | DJ LeMahieu off Thursday

Fri, 03 Jul 2015 04:30:34 -0700

Colorado Rockies 2B DJ LeMahieu did not play Thursday, July 2, against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Manager Walt Weiss simply gave him a day off to "let him catch his breath."

Fantasy Tip: LeMahieu ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) should be back in action Friday, but keep an eye out nevertheless. He is hitting .296 in 75 games, making him a decent option in FantasyScore and other formats.
