Rockies | DJ LeMahieu sitting vs. Cards

Thu, 19 May 2016 13:17:14 -0700

Colorado Rockies 2B DJ LeMahieu is not in the starting lineup Thursday, May 19. 2B Daniel Descalso is starting at the keystone and batting eighth against St. Louis Cardinals SP Michael Wacha Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: LeMahieu is off to a solid start with 23 runs, two home runs, 13 RBI, five stolen bases and a .301/.361/.436 slash line. There aren't many fantasy formats where he should be on the waiver wire, especially with him calling Coors Field home. Descalso doesn't move the fantasy needle outside of being a desperation flier in daily contests Thursday.

Rockies | Charlie Blackmon takes a seat

Fri, 06 May 2016 16:02:33 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Charlie Blackmon is not in the starting lineup against San Francisco Giants left-handed SP Madison Bumgarner Friday, May 6. OF Ryan Raburn is starting in left field and hitting sixth, with OF Gerardo Parra shifting over to center field. Also, 2B DJ LeMahieu moves up to the leadoff spot.

Fantasy Tip: Raburn is a notorious lefty killer, but MadBum isn't your typical southpaw on the hill tonight. It could prove difficult for Raburn to turn a profit in daily affairs. Parra becomes one to avoid in the tough lefty-lefty matchup. LeMahieu gains value with the move all the way up the order, but he should be seen as a contrarian play because of the matchup.

Rockies | Three Rockies regulars sitting

Wed, 04 May 2016 11:05:15 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Gerardo Parra, 2B DJ LeMahieu and C Nick Hundley are out of the lineup Wednesday, May 4. OF Ryan Raburn is hitting sixth, 2B Cristhian Adames is hitting ninth and C Tony Wolters hits seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Raburn has an impressive .361-4-8 line in 36 at-bats. He's certainly worth the low-end flyer against Cesar Vargas. Adames is hitting .148 and isn't worth the stream in Petco Park. Wolters hasn't hit much since his first couple of games and isn't worth the start.

Rockies | Colorado has lineup overhaul

Sat, 23 Apr 2016 14:50:49 -0700

Colorado Rockies SS Trevor Story, OF Carlos Gonzalez, 3B Nolan Arenado and OF Gerardo Parra all moved up one spot to hit in the first four spots in the lineup. 2B DJ LeMahieu was dropped to No. 9.

Fantasy Tip: All five are worth daily considerations at their respective positions. LeMahieu is just 2-for-16 (.125) the last seven days, and he loses some luster hitting ninth. He's still worth starting at the right price against Kenta Maeda.

Rockies | DJ LeMahieu available in a pinch

Mon, 18 Apr 2016 21:04:20 -0700

Updating a previous report, Colorado Rockies 2B DJ LeMahieu (groin) did not play Monday, April 18, against the Cincinnati Reds, although he was available off the bench as a pinch hitter.

Fantasy Tip: LeMahieu should be avoided in NL-only leagues, deeper mixed formats and DFS play until he can officially return and prove his health in a full game without any lingering effects of his injury.

Rockies | DJ LeMahieu nursing groin injury

Mon, 18 Apr 2016 13:07:31 -0700

Colorado Rockies 2B DJ LeMahieu (groin) tweaked his groin during the game against the Chicago Cubs Friday, April 15, and he is sitting out against the Cincinnati Reds Monday, April 18, in hopes the injury does not become chronic. OF Gerardo Parra is leading off, and INF Cristhian Adames is playing second base and batting seventh against Reds SP Dan Straily Monday.

Fantasy Tip: Stay tuned for updates on LeMahieu. He is a serviceable fantasy contributor at the keystone who chips in across all categories, and calling Coors Field home also helps. Parra receives a slight uptick in value setting the table for Colorado, especially in the stolen base column, whereas Adames is nothing more than a desperation flier in all fantasy formats.

Rockies | DJ LeMahieu resting Saturday

Sat, 16 Apr 2016 10:21:20 -0700

Colorado Rockies 2B DJ LeMahieu is receiving the day off against the Chicago Cubs Saturday, April 16. INF Cristhian Adames will lead off and play second base.

Fantasy Tip: The Rockies are facing Jake Arrieta this afternoon, so Adames is not a recommended play in daily fantasy leagues. LeMahieu should be able to return to the lineup Sunday, April 17.

Rockies | Charlie Blackmon, Nick Hundley out

Thu, 14 Apr 2016 09:35:16 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Charlie Blackmon and C Nick Hundley are not in the starting lineup Thursday, April 14. 1B Ben Paulsen draws a start in left field and is hitting seventh with OF Gerardo Parra moving to center field. Also, 2B DJ LeMahieu is moved to the leadoff spot. C Tony Wolters is behind the plate and batting eighth against San Francisco Giants SP Matt Cain.

Fantasy Tip: Most everyone from the Rockies lineup today is desirable in daily formats facing Cain at Coors Field. LeMahieu gains significant value in the leadoff spot, and Paulsen and Wolters are worth looks as cheap sleeper picks against the declining right-hander.

Rockies | Two Rockies take a seat

Sat, 09 Apr 2016 15:18:47 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Charlie Blackmon and OF Gerardo Parra are out of the lineup Saturday, April 9, with OF Ryan Raburn hitting sixth and OF Brandon Barnes hits eighth. 2B DJ LeMahieu bumps up to the leadoff spot against left-handed San Diego Padres SP Drew Pomeranz.

Fantasy Tip: Raburn and Barnes aren't worth the start. LeMahieu hit lefties at a .294 clip the last three years, and he's worth the upper-echelon start.

Rockies | DJ LeMahieu continues blazing start

Wed, 06 Apr 2016 15:53:39 -0700

Colorado Rockies 2B DJ LeMahieu lifted his batting average on the season to .600 after going 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI Wednesday, April 6, versus the Arizona Diamondbacks. He also slugged his second home run of the year.

Fantasy Tip: LeMaheiu was one of the league's most surprising breakout players a year ago, but apparently he's not much of a surprise anymore. The 2015 All-Star has now collected two hits in all three games to begin the campaign, and batting atop the dangerous Rockies lineup, he can be a valuable option at second base in all leagues.
