Blue Jays | Ryan Goins has 12-game streak

Wed, 02 Sep 2015 22:51:44 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 2B Ryan Goins went 1-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts Wednesday, Sept. 2, against the Cleveland Indians.

Fantasy Tip: Goins ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) has hit safely in a career-high 12 straight games, longest active streak in the majors. At this price level he is a solid play in FantasyScore until he cools off.

Blue Jays | Ryan Goins extends hit streak

Tue, 01 Sep 2015 22:48:36 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 2B Ryan Goins went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, walk and two runs scored Tuesday, Sept. 1, against the Cleveland Indians to extend his hitting streak to a career-high 11 games.

Fantasy Tip: Goins ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is hitting .438 (14-for-32) during the 11-game hitting streak to raise his average from .220 to .246. Start him in FantasyScore at this low price.

Blue Jays | Ryan Goins playing second base

Sun, 23 Aug 2015 12:34:30 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 2B Ryan Goins will bat ninth and play second base against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Garrett Richards Sunday, Aug. 23.

Fantasy Tip: Goins ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is batting .417 (5-for-12) against the Halos this season and is hitting .256 during the month of August. However, if you don't need the cap relief on FantasyScore, look for better options at the keystone position.

Blue Jays | Troy Tulowitzki out of the lineup

Sat, 01 Aug 2015 09:14:20 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays SS Troy Tulowitzki is not in the starting lineup against Kansas City Royals SP Yordano Ventura Saturday, Aug. 1. 2B Ryan Goins will start at shortstop and is batting ninth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Tulowitzki ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) probably will return to the lineup in the next day. Goins ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) has three hits in his last five games and probably should be avoided by owners on FantasyScore.

Blue Jays | Devon Travis remains out

Thu, 30 Jul 2015 14:15:25 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 2B Devon Travis (shoulder) remains out of the lineup Thursday, July 30. 2B Ryan Goins is starting at second base and is batting ninth against Kansas City Royals SP Danny Duffy.

Fantasy Tip: Travis may need to go back on the disabled list after reinjuring the same shoulder that cost him a DL stint earlier this year. He deserves to be held onto in all leagues. Goins ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is a light-hitting utility infielder with no offensive upside, making him a pick to avoid in daily games.

Blue Jays | Devon Travis headed back to DL?

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 16:24:38 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 2B Devon Travis (shoulder) could be headed back to the disabled list, although an MRI exam showed no significant damage in his strained left shoulder Wednesday, July 29. The Blue Jays won't make a move with him until Thursday, July 30. "It's similar to the last time, a strain in that area," said manager John Gibbons. "He'll take it easy and get all his treatment and then we'll probably have a little better idea (Thursday)." 2B Ryan Goins is expected to continue filling in at second base with Travis out.

Fantasy Tip: It's a shame for Travis ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) owners, since he homered in his first game back in the leadoff spot after the trade of Jose Reyes. Stash Travis in all leagues. Goins ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is a weak second base option at FantasyScore and should only be picked up in the short term in AL-only leagues if you are desperate for help in the middle infield.

Blue Jays | Devon Travis will not start

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 13:53:15 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 2B Devon Travis (shoulder) is not in the starting lineup against Philadelphia Phillies SP Jerome Williams Wednesday, July 29. 2B Ryan Goins will start at second base and is batting ninth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to keep an eye out on Travis' ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) status to see when he will be able to play again. Goins ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) has received limited playing time this month and is not a great option for owners on FantasyScore.

Blue Jays | Ryan Goins starting at SS

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 14:39:03 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 2B Ryan Goins will start at shortstop against Philadelphia Phillies SP Adam Warren Tuesday, July 28, and is batting ninth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Goins ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) likely will start until Troy Tulowitzki joins the season and will go back to the bench. Goins has seen limited playing time this month and is not the best option on FantasyScore.

Blue Jays | Devon Travis not starting Sunday

Sun, 26 Jul 2015 13:04:06 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 2B Devon Travis is not in the starting lineup against Seattle Mariners SP Taijuan Walker Sunday, July 26. 2B Ryan Goins will play the keystone position and bat ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Goins ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is 3-for-5 against Walker in his career and is 3-for-8 this month, making this a highly favorable matchup for him.

Blue Jays | Devon Travis resting

Wed, 01 Jul 2015 07:46:31 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 2B Devon Travis is out of the lineup Wednesday, July 1, in favor of 2B Ryan Goins.

Fantasy Tip: Goins ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) has an average matchup against Rick Porcello, but his .220-2-23 doesn't move the FantasyScore meter.
