Indians | Jason Kipnis stays hot at home

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 18:11:07 -0700

Cleveland Indians 2B Jason Kipnis went 3-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI Wednesday, July 29, against the Kansas City Royals. It was his third three-hit game of the three-game series.

Fantasy Tip: Kipnis ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) is hitting a robust .376 at home this season, posting 20 doubles, four triples, four home runs and 23 RBI with an OPS well over 1.000. Unfortunately, the Indians hit the road for six games, but he is still hitting a respectable .291 with a .749 OPS on the road. FantasyScore owners have been loving him lately.

Indians | Mike Aviles starting at 2B

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 16:10:14 -0700

Cleveland Indians SS Mike Aviles is starting at second base and hitting ninth against Kansas City Royals SP Chris D. Young Tuesday, July 28. 2B Jason Kipnis is serving as the designated hitter after the team traded OF David Murphy prior to the game.

Fantasy Tip: Aviles ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) doesn't have much appeal in daily games while hitting near the bottom of the batting order. However, he could see more playing time for the Indians after the departure of Murphy. Take note in deep mixed leagues if you need depth or a dual-position threat.

Sun, 26 Jul 2015 23:12:51 -0700

Cleveland Indians 2B Jason Kipnis (neck) returned to the lineup Sunday, July 26.

Fantasy Tip: Kipnis ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) has a tough matchup against Edinson Volquez Monday, and he's a pricey proposition on FantasyScore.

Sat, 25 Jul 2015 13:57:53 -0700

Cleveland Indians 2B Jason Kipnis is out of the lineup Saturday, July 25, with 2B Mike Aviles leading off.

Indians | Jason Kipnis faded in first half

Mon, 13 Jul 2015 16:19:59 -0700

Cleveland Indians 2B Jason Kipnis went 12-for-57 over his last 15 games before the All-Star break. Kipnis still entered Monday, July 13, tied for the American League lead with 27 doubles, third in hits, sixth in runs scored and sixth in extra-base hits.

Fantasy Tip: Kipnis did enter the breakout with an absurd .369 BABIP - that is 50 points above his career average - and an ISO that is 20 points above his norm. While Kipnis has an outside shot at a 20/20 season, his owners may want to sell high before the batting average dips.

Indians | Brandon Moss sitting vs. Oakland

Sun, 12 Jul 2015 07:17:04 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Brandon Moss is not in the starting lineup Sunday, July 12. SS Jose Ramirez draws into the lineup and is playing second base and batting ninth against Oakland Athletics SP Sonny Gray Sunday. 2B Jason Kipnis is serving as the designated hitter and leading off.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Moss ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) in all fantasy formats Sunday. He enters the All-Star break with solid power totals (14 home runs and 46 RBI) but lackluster ratios (.221/.297/.429 slash line). Ramirez is nothing more than a dice roll Sunday, and FantasyScore players should likely look elsewhere.

Indians | Jason Kipnis rakes at home

Mon, 06 Jul 2015 21:58:27 -0700

Cleveland Indians All-Star 2B Jason Kipnis went 1-for-3 with a sacrifice fly Monday, July 6, against the Houston Astros to extend his home hitting streak to 29 games.

Fantasy Tip: FantasyScore players have been getting great return lately on Kipnis ($5,500; or 11.0% of cap), especially at Progressive Field. He is hitting .421 (61-for-145) with 18 doubles, two triples, four homers, 20 RBI and a 1.169 OPS in Cleveland, and he has a 1.025 OPS against right-handed pitching. Remember that for FantasyScore going forward.

Fri, 03 Jul 2015 21:52:41 -0700

Cleveland Indians 2B Jason Kipnis had a nine-game interleague hitting streak snapped Friday, July 3, finishing 0-for-3 with two walks.

Fantasy Tip: Even with a rare hitless effort, Kipnis ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) has been one of the best players in baseball for more than a month and deserves nightly consideration at FantasyScore.
