Baltimore Orioles SPs Tyler Wilson, Mike Wright, Vance Worley and Chris Jones could battle for the No. 5 spot in the starting rotation if the team decides to use an in-house candidate for the job.
Fantasy Tip: Baltimore had been rumored to have interest in free-agent SP Yovani Gallardo (Rangers) but they would have to part with their first-round draft pick if they signed him, making it increasingly likely that they will fill the void with someone already inside the organization. All of the current candidates are nothing more than late-round fliers in AL-only fantasy leagues.

Pittsburgh Pirates SP Francisco Liriano (neck) was scratched Saturday, July 18, and SP Vance Worley will start in his place. Liriano was scratched with neck tightness.
Fantasy Tip: Worley ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) is up against it with his matchup against the Cincinnati Reds. It questionable whether he's stretched out enough to go very deep in the game. Avoid on FantasyScore.

Pittsburgh Pirates SP Vance Worley will move to the bullpen as a long reliever to make room for SP Charlie Morton (hip) Monday, May 25.
Fantasy Tip: With his move to the bullpen, Worley ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) can be written off at FantasyScore for the time being.

Pittsburgh Pirates SP Charlie Morton (hip) allowed two runs and four walks while striking out nine in 6 1/3 innings in what was believed to be his final rehab start for Class AAA Indianapolis Tuesday, May 19. He's recovering from hip surgery to fix his labrum in September of last year. Morton is expected to take the rotation spot of SP Vance Worley.
Fantasy Tip: Morton ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) should be added in all deep mixed and AL-only leagues before he's activated from the DL. You should probably take a wait-and-see approach with him at FantasyScore, but he could eventually become a nice matchup play, especially when pitching at home at pitcher-friendly PNC Park.

Pittsburgh Pirates SP Vance Worley is being skipped in the team's rotation this week. SP Francisco Liriano will pitch Tuesday, May 19, against the Minnesota Twins and SP Jeff Locke will throw Wednesday, May 20.
Fantasy Tip: Worley ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) may be out of the rotation completely with the return of Charlie Morton ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) to active duty. Drop Worley from your lineups for now.

Pittsburgh Pirates SP Vance Worley allowed one unearned run and six hits with two walks over 5 2/3 innings in a win against the Chicago Cubs Wednesday, April 22. He also struck out five batters.
Fantasy Tip: While Worley ($3,300; 6.6% of cap) labored a bit in this one, he is still 2-0 with a 1.54 ERA in two home outings this season. In 2014, he was 5-2 with a 2.28 ERA in seven home assignments, so there is something about PNC Park that agrees with Worley. When he is on the bump at home, FantasyScore owners need to remember him.

Pittsburgh Pirates SP Vance Worley is expected to start against the Milwaukee Brewers Saturday, April 11, in place of SP Charlie Morton (hip) who will begin the season on the disabled list.
Fantasy Tip: Worley ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) has had fleeting success at times throughout his career, including last season when he went 8-4 with a 2.85 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP. However, he leaves a lot to be desired in the strikeout department and has averaged just 5.9 K/9 over the past two seasons. He is best left to NL-only and cavernous mixed leagues. His start against the Bewers doesn't project favorably for FantasyScore contests, either.

Pittsburgh Pirates SP Vance Worley won his arbitration case and will be paid $2.45 million this season. The Pirates had asked for $2 million.
