Rockies | Ben Paulsen starting again vs. Giants

Fri, 22 May 2015 14:24:56 -0700

Colorado Rockies 1B Ben Paulsen is starting in left field and batting sixth against the San Francisco Giants Friday, May 22.

Fantasy Tip: Daily players could take a low-priced flier on Paulsen, as he draws a favorable matchup against Ryan Vogelsong Friday. Paulsen has fleeting value in NL-only and cavernous mixed leagues, although, he shouldn't be viewed as anything more than a desperation add.

Rockies | Wilin Rosario out Thursday

Thu, 21 May 2015 09:39:44 -0700

Colorado Rockies C Wilin Rosario is not in the starting lineup Thursday, May 21. 1B Ben Paulsen is starting at first base and hitting fifth in the batting order against Philadelphia Phillies SP Jerome Williams.

Fantasy Tip: Paulsen is a low-priced option at FantasyScore if you're looking for a deep sleeper against a mediocre pitcher in a hitter's park.

Rockies | Ben Paulsen draws start in LF

Wed, 20 May 2015 15:16:44 -0700

Colorado Rockies 1B Ben Paulsen is starting in left field and hitting sixth in the batting order against Philadelphia Phillies SP Severino Gonzalez Wednesday, May 20.

Fantasy Tip: Paulsen will be an extremely cheap option at FantasyScore, and he'll likely see occasional starts in the outfield with Corey Dickerson (foot) on the DL. He has a double in his only at-bat this year but only has 64 total at-bats at the major league level in his career. Paulsen does have double-digit home run power, though, but for now, consider him a deep sleeper at FantasyScore.

Rockies | Corey Dickerson put on DL

Tue, 19 May 2015 14:48:44 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Corey Dickerson (foot) was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a lingering case of plantar fasciitis in his left foot Tuesday, May 19. 1B Ben Paulsen was recalled to take Dickerson's spot on the roster. The Rockies are unsure a DL stint will help his condition, though. "You can go 15 days, but right when you put that cleat on or take off running that one time, it's right back and it was like a wasted 15 days," Dickerson said. "You might as well be out there helping the team or doing what you can do." Dickerson was hitting .306 with five home runs and 16 RBI in 33 games.

Fantasy Tip: Dickerson's ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) condition could very well affect him for the rest of the 2015 season, so you have to be pretty concerned if you own him in traditional leagues. Stash him in a DL slot for now. Drew Stubbs ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) should become the everyday center fielder in the meantime, and his combination of power and speed plays well at hitter-friendly Coors Field. Stubbs is off to a rough start in limited duty, though, so until we see more from him, he's a weak play at FantasyScore.

Rockies | Carlos Gonzalez to DL

Sun, 10 Aug 2014 13:12:08 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez (knee, ankle) was placed on the 15-day disabled list with left patella tendonitis and a right ankle sprain. 1B Ben Paulsen was recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Fantasy Tip: Drew Stubbs will likely be the benefactor with more playing time. He has good power and speed but has failed to hit for a high enough average to warrant consistent playing time. Pick him up in NL-only leagues. Place Car-Go on your disabled list. It's unknown how long he'll miss, but he could return in a couple of weeks.

Tue, 29 Jul 2014 15:14:34 -0700

Morneau is hitting fifth and playing first base Tuesday night. SS Cristhian Adames was recalled Tuesday, but he is not in the starting lineup. In corresponding moves, 1B Ben Paulsen and RPs Brooks Brown and Chad Bettis were optioned to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Fantasy Tip: Return Morneau to your lineups in all formats.
