Rockies | Ben Paulsen returns to lineup

Sun, 23 Aug 2015 11:13:14 -0700

Colorado Rockies 1B Ben Paulsen is back in the starting lineup against New York Mets SP Logan Verrett Sunday, Aug. 23, batting fifth.

Fantasy Tip: Paulsen ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) did not start Saturday, Aug. 22, because the Rockies were facing left-handed SP Jon Niese. He is batting .285 against right-handed pitching and is hitting .319 with six home runs and 16 RBIs in 94 at-bats during day games, making this a favorable matchup for him in FantasyScore.

Rockies | Ben Paulsen out of lineup

Thu, 13 Aug 2015 09:05:07 -0700

Colorado Rockies 1B Ben Paulsen is not in the starting lineup Thursday, Aug. 13. 1B Matt McBride is starting at first base and hitting fifth against New York Mets SP Noah Syndergaard.

Fantasy Tip: McBride is a FantasyScore afterthought and should be avoided everywhere, especially against the young pitching phenom Syndergaard, who has been much better at Citi Field this year.

Rockies | Ben Paulsen draws out of the lineup

Mon, 10 Aug 2015 12:34:27 -0700

Colorado Rockies 1B Ben Paulsen is not in the starting lineup Monday, Aug. 10. OF Kyle Parker is starting at first base and batting fifth against New York Mets SP Jon Niese Monday.

Fantasy Tip: Paulsen ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) hasn't been playing often against lefties this season, as he has done most of his damage against right-handed hurlers (.887 OPS over 212 plate appearances). Parker ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) posted 58 RBI over 388 plate appearances with Class AAA Albuquerque before being recalled to the Rockies but is just 6-for-27 in the majors. He is nothing more than a low-priced flier for FantasyScore players Monday.

Rockies | Ben Paulsen sitting Tuesday

Tue, 21 Jul 2015 14:57:45 -0700

Colorado Rockies 1B Ben Paulsen is not in the starting lineup against Texas Rangers SP Matt Harrison Tuesday, July 21. C Wilin Rosario will start at first base and is batting fifth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Paulsen ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) likely is sitting out because the team is facing a left-handed pitcher. Rosario ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) is hitting only .194 this month and is not a great option for owners on FantasyScore.

Rockies | Wilin Rosario hitting cleanup Thursday

Thu, 09 Jul 2015 14:24:31 -0700

Colorado Rockies C Wilin Rosario is starting at first base and hitting cleanup against Atlanta Braves SP Alex Wood Thursday, July 9. 1B Ben Paulsen will start on the bench.

Fantasy Tip: Rosario ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) is a pretty attractive catching option on FantasyScore tonight against Wood. Rosario has a slash line of .286/.327/.408 and a .735 OPS with one of his five dingers against southpaws, and the game is being played at hitter-friendly Coors Field.

Rockies | Ben Paulsen in lineup Sunday

Sun, 05 Jul 2015 12:01:06 -0700

Colorado Rockies 1B Ben Paulsen is in the starting lineup against Arizona Diamondbacks SP Rubby De La Rosa Sunday, July 5, batting sixth.

Fantasy Tip: Paulsen ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is hitless in 14 at-bats against Arizona this season and is batting just .214 over the past week. FantasyScore owners should look elsewhere for options at first base.

Rockies | Wilin Rosario serving as DH

Mon, 29 Jun 2015 15:45:14 -0700

Colorado Rockies C Wilin Rosario is serving as the designated hitter and batting sixth against Oakland Athletics SP Kendall Graveman Monday, June 29. 1B Ben Paulsen is starting at first base and hitting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Rosario ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) and Paulsen ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) are both much less attractive on FantasyScore away from Coors Field. Rosario is hitting only .220 (13-for-59) with two home runs and five RBI, while Paulsen only has two of his five home runs on the road. It doesn't help that they're playing at pitcher-friendly O.co Coliseum tonight, either.

Rockies | Ben Paulsen sitting Saturday

Sat, 27 Jun 2015 12:28:26 -0700

Colorado Rockies 1B Ben Paulsen is not starting Saturday, June 27, against the San Francisco Giants.

Fantasy Tip: Wilin Rosario ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) will get the start at first base and has been swinging the bat well of late. He's a good, cheap option at the position on FantasyScore today.

Rockies | Ben Paulsen starting at first base

Fri, 26 Jun 2015 18:28:49 -0700

Colorado Rockies 1B/OF Ben Paulsen will play first base and bat against San Francisco Giants SP Tim Hudson Friday, June 26. 1B Wilin Rosario is getting the night off.

Fantasy Tip: After getting off to a hot start in May, Paulsen ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is only batting .234 in June with two home runs and seven RBIs. Unless you need cap relief in FantasyScore, look elsewhere for a starting option at first base.

Rockies | Carlos Gonzalez out again vs. Arizona

Wed, 24 Jun 2015 16:33:50 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez (hand) is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, June 24. 1B Ben Paulsen is starting in left field and batting fifth, and OF Brandon Barnes is starting in right field and batting eighth against Arizona Diamondbacks SP Allen Webster Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Gonzalez ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) in all formats Wednesday. His injury comes at an unfortunate time, too, as he was sporting a .900 OPS with six home runs and 14 RBI through 19 games in June. Paulsen ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) and Barnes ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) are upside value plays at FantasyScore whenever they play at home in hitter-friendly Coors Field, especially Paulsen hitting in the five-hole Wednesday.
