Rockies | Carlos Gonzalez dropped to fifth

Sat, 14 May 2016 15:30:39 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez was dropped from third to fifth Saturday, May 14, with 3B Nolan Arenado hitting third.

Fantasy Tip: Car-Go has hit just .167 the last week, but the move is probably a testament to how good Arenado has been as opposed to Gonzalez's shortcomings. Gonzalez has more RBI potential with Arenado and Gerardo Parra ahead of him, and he remains a high-end option against Logan Verrett. Arenado is a daily consideration as he pummels opposing pitchers.

Rockies | Nolan Arenado keeps up hot hitting

Wed, 11 May 2016 17:18:38 -0700

Colorado Rockies 3B Nolan Arenado went 3-for-4 Wednesday, May 11, against the Arizona Diamondbacks, including his 13th home run of the season. He finished with a run scored, two RBI and drew a walk.

Fantasy Tip: A legitimate argument could be made that Arenado is the most complete player in all of baseball right now. Although his otherworldly defense doesn't count for fantasy, his elite bat thankfully does, as he's now hitting .321 on the year with 31 RBI. He's been keeping it going into May, now having five multi-hit games already this month.

Rockies | Nolan Arenado has more homers than whiffs

Fri, 06 May 2016 05:15:27 -0700

Colorado Rockies 3B Nolan Arenado has 12 homers on the season and just 11 strikeouts entering play Friday, May 6.

Fantasy Tip: He has a .309-12-28 line on the season, and it's scary to think that he's just 25 years old. Arenado is a daily consideration in DFS for many days to come.

Colorado Rockies 3B Nolan Arenado hit his major league-leading 11th home run Sunday, May 1, finishing 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored in a 6-3 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Fantasy Tip: Arenado currently leads the majors in homers and RBI, and he is more than justifying his status as a first-round pick in fantasy drafts.

Colorado Rockies 3B Nolan Arenado went 1-for-4 with one home run and one RBI against the Arizona Diamondbacks Friday, April 29. Arenado is tied for the major league lead with 10 home runs.

Rockies | Colorado has lineup overhaul

Sat, 23 Apr 2016 14:50:49 -0700

Colorado Rockies SS Trevor Story, OF Carlos Gonzalez, 3B Nolan Arenado and OF Gerardo Parra all moved up one spot to hit in the first four spots in the lineup. 2B DJ LeMahieu was dropped to No. 9.

Fantasy Tip: All five are worth daily considerations at their respective positions. LeMahieu is just 2-for-16 (.125) the last seven days, and he loses some luster hitting ninth. He's still worth starting at the right price against Kenta Maeda.

Rockies | Nolan Arenado has second two-homer game

Sun, 17 Apr 2016 15:00:46 -0700

Colorado Rockies 3B Nolan Arenado enjoyed his second multi-home run effort of the week on Sunday, April 17, connecting on a solo shot off Chicago Cubs SP Jon Lester in the fourth inning before doing it again off RP Justin Grimm in the ninth.

Fantasy Tip: The homers proved to be the only runs scored by either club as Tyler Chatwood outdueled Lester in a pitchers' duel at Wrigley Field. Arenado's other power display came against the San Francisco Giants at Coors Field on Wednesday, when he finished with four hits and seven RBI. The 2015 All-Star leads the majors with 16 RBI and has easily lived up to his first-round fantasy draft status thus far.

Rockies | Nolan Arenado smashes San Fran

Wed, 13 Apr 2016 23:10:35 -0700

Colorado Rockies 3B Nolan Arenado went 4-for-5 with a double, two home runs and a career-high seven RBIs Wednesday, April 13, against the San Francisco Giants. He now has six multi-homer games, and his RBI total was just one shy of a single-game franchise record.

Fantasy Tip: Arenado entered the game with just one multi-hit game since opening day, and he had one double and two homers with five RBIs in his first eight games. This kind of game is why fantasy owners never should bench a guy like Arenado regardless of how he is struggling.

Mon, 04 Apr 2016 23:28:51 -0700

Colorado Rockies 3B Nolan Arenado went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run Monday, April 4, against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Fantasy Tip: Arenado is not just one of the top fantasy third basemen, but one of the top fantasy hitters, for his tremendous power.

Rockies | Nolan Arenado continues to beast

Wed, 30 Mar 2016 16:26:52 -0700

Colorado Rockies 3B Nolan Arenado, who is hitting .566 this spring, hit his sixth spring home run Wednesday, March 30.

Fantasy Tip: In case you haven't noticed, Arenado is the real deal. He hits for power and average and isn't a product of hitter-friend Coors Field (22 road homers in 2015). Draft him with confidence in the middle of the first rounds in fantasy.
