Twins | Torii Hunter out of lineup Sunday

Sun, 04 Oct 2015 12:24:53 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Torii Hunter is not in the starting lineup against Kansas City Royals SP Johnny Cueto Sunday, Oct. 4. OF Max Kepler is playing right field and batting third.

Fantasy Tip: Hunter ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) is being rested since Minnesota was eliminated from playoff contention after losing to the Royals Saturday, Oct. 3, and it is uncertain if he will return for the 2016 season. Kepler ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is 0-for-3 in his major league career.

Twins | Max Kepler coming up for Twins

Tue, 22 Sep 2015 13:39:05 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Max Kepler was called up from the minors Tuesday, Sept. 22. Kepler hit .322 with 32 doubles, 13 triples, nine home runs and 71 RBI in 112 games in the minors this year and won the leave MVP. He can play first base and all three outfield positions.

Fantasy Tip: Kepler should be firmly on the radar of those in dynasty and keeper leagues, but because he's unlikely to see consistent playing time down the stretch with Minnesota fighting for a wild card berth, Kepler isn't worth a heavy investment in all other fantasy formats.

Twins | Max Kepler becoming serious prospect

Wed, 01 Jul 2015 11:15:11 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Max Kepler has blossomed from a project to a complete hitter at Class AA Chattanooga this year, hitting .336 with a .940 OPS and three home runs, eight triples and 22 doubles in 64 games. He's also walked nearly as often as he has struck out, and he hit .364 with a 1.052 OPS in June. Kepler, a lefty swinger, has expanded his approach at the plate to become more assertive, especially when it comes to pulling the ball. He has more of a line-drive swing but has added power after tacking on 10-15 pounds over the years. He has also shown improvement against lefties, with a .910 OPS against them in 2015.

Fantasy Tip: Kepler is still far away from a major-league call-up, but he's worth keeping an eye on in dynasty and keeper leagues.
