Tigers | Jose Iglesias out of the lineup

Sat, 04 Jul 2015 07:51:06 -0700

Detroit Tigers SS Jose Iglesias is not in the starting lineup against Toronto Blue Jays SP R.A. Dickey Saturday, July 4. SS Josh Wilson will start at shortstop and is batting eighth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Iglesias ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and should return to the lineup soon. Wilson ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has been solid at the plate in his limited playing time, but owners on FantasyScore should be able to find better options to use.

Tigers | Jose Iglesias moving up in order?

Tue, 30 Jun 2015 18:14:58 -0700

Detroit Tigers SS Jose Iglesias might be moved up in the batting order, although manager Brad Ausmus has yet to make a move. Iglesias is fifth in the American League with a .330 average, but his average is helped out by 18 infield hits, which is fifth-most in the majors. "I have considered it, multiple times. There's always that question: Is a guy hitting what he's hitting because of where he's hitting? Ausmus said. "And would it change if you moved him?"

Fantasy Tip: Iglesias has been hitting fine for fantasy owners, and an infield hit is just as good as a sharp single to the outfield. FantasyScore players have loved Iglesias for his multiple hits and runs scored, and he might have more RBI chances if the table setters on the Tigers weren't slumping so badly.

Tigers | Jose Iglesias takes a seat

Tue, 23 Jun 2015 13:05:47 -0700

Detroit Tigers SS Jose Iglesias is out of the lineup Tuesday, June 23, in favor of 3B Andrew Romine.

Fantasy Tip: Romine has stolen a lot of playing time from struggling 3B Nick Castellanos, who is in at third today. At $2,000 (4.0% of cap), Romine's .276-1-5 line on the season doesn't lend much upside as he's hitting eighth against Danny Salazar.

Tigers | Ian Kinsler up, Jose Iglesias down

Fri, 05 Jun 2015 14:58:55 -0700

Detroit Tigers 2B Ian Kinsler is returning to the two-hole in the batting order against Chicago White Sox SP Jose Quintana Friday, June 5, while SS Jose Iglesias moves back down to the No. 9 spot in the order.

Fantasy Tip: Kinsler ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) had two hits yesterday to break out of his funk, but he's still hitting .111 (5-for-45) with seven strikeouts since May 22. A move back to the top of the order may help him continue to turn things around, and he's more attractive there to FantasyScore players. You may want to be safe and continue sitting him tonight, though, since he's just 10-for-46 (.217) with no homers and one RBI against lefties this year. Iglesias ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) is 10-for-31 (.323) since May 22 but has only one home run and an RBI in that span. He's due for more correction on his inflated average this summer, and hitting at the bottom of the lineup makes him a weak play.

Tigers | Jose Iglesias, Ian Kinsler moved in lineup

Wed, 03 Jun 2015 12:49:41 -0700

Detroit Tigers SS Jose Iglesias is batting second against the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday, June 3. 2B Ian Kinsler is hitting fifth.

Fantasy Tip: Iglesias ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) usually bats at the bottom of the lineup and Kinsler ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) has hit second, but Chris Iott of MLive.com reports manager Brad Ausmus is shaking up the lineup. These two will still contribute, but Iglesias' value may have risen a bit because of where he is in the lineup.

Tigers | Jose Iglesias in two-hole

Tue, 02 Jun 2015 13:01:57 -0700

Detroit Tigers SS Jose Iglesias is hitting second in the batting order against Oakland Athletics SP Kendall Graveman Tuesday, June 2.

Fantasy Tip: Iglesias ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) continues to hit (.338/.426/.822) but he has just one home run and seven RBI while mainly residing at the bottom of the Tigers batting order. A move up to the top makes him a little more intriguing for FantasyScore users, but he's still more of a weaker shortstop play with a limited fantasy ceiling.

Tigers | Jose Iglesias returns to lineup

Thu, 28 May 2015 16:11:07 -0700

Detroit Tigers SS Jose Iglesias (knee) returns to the lineup Thursday, May 28, against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Fantasy Tip: Most of Iglesias' ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) FantasyScore potential comes from the runs scored and stolen base statistics. With Iglesias hitting eighth in the order and potentially still hampered by his knee, FantasyScore owners should give him some time to heat back up before reinvesting.

Tigers | Jose Iglesias remains out

Wed, 27 May 2015 11:27:55 -0700

Detroit Tigers SS Jose Iglesias (knee) remains out of the starting lineup Wednesday, May 27. SS Dixon Machado is starting at shortstop and hitting eighth in the batting order against Oakland Athletics SP Scott Kazmir.

Fantasy Tip: Machado ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is a light-hitting infielder that shouldn't be on your radar at FantasyScore.

Tigers | Andrew Romine in at short

Tue, 26 May 2015 16:22:05 -0700

Detroit Tigers SS Andrew Romine will start at shortstop and bat eighth in the order Tuesday, May 26, against the Oakland Athletics. SS Jose Iglesias is out of the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Romine ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) went 2-for-4 Saturday, May 24, and he scored a run for the second time in three games. With Romine's price at the minimum, and the top of the batting order batting behind him, Romine can be considered in GPP contests.

Tigers | Jose Iglesias remains out

Mon, 25 May 2015 11:15:03 -0700

Detroit Tigers SS Jose Iglesias (knee) is not in the starting lineup Monday, May 25. SS Dixon Machado will take his place in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Iglesias ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is considered day-to-day at this point, so he could return soon. Machado will receive his first start of the season but should not be an option for fantasy owners at this point.
