Detroit Tigers RP Al Alburquerque (elbow) has been throwing long toss at 120 feet, and he's expected to resume throwing off a mound in late May. RP Luis Marte (hamstring) pitched an inning in minor league camp Monday, May 14, giving up two hits and striking out two.

Detroit Tigers RP Al Alburquerque (elbow) could be cleared to resume a throwing program during a follow-up exam at the end of the month which will include a CT scan on his elbow. He hopes to return to action around the All-Star break.

Detroit Tigers RP Al Alburquerque (elbow) underwent surgery to fix a non-displaced stress fracture in his right elbow, and he will not be ready for the start of next season. He had a screw inserted into his elbow as part of the procedure.

The Detroit Tigers have set their roster for the Divisional Series against the New York Yankees. The bullpen will be manned by RPs Phil Coke, Daniel Schlereth, Jose Valverde, Joaquin Benoit, Ryan Perry and Al Alburquerque. RPs David Pauley and Duane Below were left off the roster. IF Don Kelly and OF Andy Dirks filled out the roster as reserves.
