New York Yankees C Gary Sanchez (biceps) threw at distances of 60 feet and 90 feet Saturday, April 22. He also took swings off a tee and in tee-and-toss drills for the first time since landing on the disabled list. Sanchez is expected to increase his throwing distance to 120 feet in the coming days and appears close to taking on-field batting practice. If all goes well, he would then begin a rehab assignment.

The team has yet to release a timetable for his recovery. C Kyle Higashioka will be recalled from Class AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to take his place when the move becomes official.
