Rays | Logan Forsythe on the bench

Sat, 04 Jul 2015 08:37:51 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 2B Logan Forsythe is not in the starting lineup against New York Yankees SP Michael Pineda Saturday, July 4. OF Jake Elmore will start at second base and is batting eighth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Forsythe ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) should return to the lineup in the near future. Elmore ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) has struggled at the plate recently with only two hits in his last 11 games. Owners on FantasyScore should be able to find better options to use in their lineups.

Rays | Nick Franklin playing second base

Sat, 13 Jun 2015 12:50:57 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays INF Nick Franklin is in the starting lineup as the second baseman against the Chicago White Sox Saturday, June 13. 2B Logan Forsythe is getting the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Franklin ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) played shortstop Friday, June 12, but SS Asdrubral Cabrera ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) is back in the lineup Saturday. Franklin is batting .135 entering play Saturday, with Cabrera hitting .208, so neither player is a viable FantasyScore option.

Rays | Logan Forsythe sitting out

Sat, 13 Jun 2015 09:23:14 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 1B Logan Forsythe is not in the starting lineup against Chicago White Sox SP Jeff Samardzija Saturday, June 13. 2B Nick Franklin will start at second base and is batting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Forsythe ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) probably is receiving a day off and should return soon. Franklin ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) has picked up four hits in his last three games but is batting only .135 on the season. Owners on FantasyScore should be able to find better options.

Rays | Tim Beckham in lineup Friday

Fri, 22 May 2015 11:51:28 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 2B Tim Beckham is in the starting lineup Friday, May 22, against the Oakland Athletics. 2B Logan Forsythe is serving as designated hitter.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) has had mixed success, but his average in the last week (.333 in four games) shows signs he may be getting it. Is it too late to save him from going to the minors? Time will tell, but for Friday give him a try.

Rays | Logan Forsythe hitting cleanup

Mon, 11 May 2015 13:19:44 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 2B Logan Forsythe is serving as the designated hitter and is hitting cleanup against New York Yankees SP CC Sabathia Monday, May 11.

Fantasy Tip: Forsythe ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) has had a productive season to this point as a utility player for the Rays, hitting .286 (30-for-105) with two home runs and 12 RBI. Sabathia has been hit hard by right-handed batters in 2015, making Forsythe a cheap sleeper candidate at FantasyScore.

Rays | Logan Forsythe hitting third

Tue, 21 Apr 2015 15:19:04 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 2B Logan Forsythe is starting at first base and hitting third in the batting order against Boston Red Sox SP Wade Miley Tuesday, April 21.

Fantasy Tip: Forsythe ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) isn't the most exciting second base option for FantasyScore users, even while hitting in the middle of the order, but it does make him more attractive. He did have five of his six home runs off lefties in 2014, though. Consider Forsythe a mediocre daily option, but he's worth considering as you look to save money because of his placement in the heart of the order.

Rays | Logan Forsythe not in the lineup

Sun, 19 Apr 2015 09:09:55 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 2B Logan Forsythe is not in the starting lineup Sunday, April 19.

Fantasy Tip: Forsythe ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is receiving a day off after playing in each of the last five games. Tim Beckham ($1,800, $3.6% of cap) will be the starting second baseman Sunday and could be a cheaper option on FantasyScore.

Rays | Evan Longoria the DH Friday

Fri, 17 Apr 2015 13:36:42 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 3B Evan Longoria (hip) is serving as the designated hitter and batting fourth in the lineup against New York Yankees SP Adam Warren Friday, April 17. 2B Logan Forsythe is starting at third base and batting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Longoria ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) was hit by a pitch and had to leave the game early Thursday. He hopes to return to third base Saturday. He should be a fine third base option for FantasyScore owners while going up against Warren and the Yanks.

Rays | Logan Forsythe fills in admirably

Tue, 07 Apr 2015 22:37:59 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 2B Logan Forsythe made the start at first base Tuesday, April 7, against the Baltimore Orioles with 1B James Loney (side) injured. Forsythe responded with a two-run home run and walk.

Fantasy Tip: Forsythe is a solid FantasyScore play at just $2,700 (or 5.4% of cap) if he continues to see starts. It won’t take much to live up to salary expectations, and his inclusion in the lineup will free up salary to purchase more studs up top.

Rays | James Loney scratched

Tue, 07 Apr 2015 14:46:22 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 1B James Loney (side) was scratched from the lineup Tuesday, April 7, because he "tweaked his right side." The move was strictly precautionary. OF Brandon Guyer will serve as the designated hitter, 2B Logan Forsythe is being moved to first base, and OF Kevin Kiermaier will be inserted in center field.

Fantasy Tip: Loney ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) likely wasn't a daily fantasy baseball lineup staple to begin with against left-hander Wei-Yin Chen Tuesday night. Kiermaier, Guyer and Forsythe aren't particularly intriguing, either, at FantasyScore.
