Padres | Logan Forsythe hits in cages

San Diego Padres 3B Logan Forsythe (foot) is in San Diego for two to three days to work out and have his foot examined by the team's medical staff. He also hit in the batting cages and fielded some ground balls. Forsythe will return to the team's extended spring training camp in Arizona and start playing games "in a couple of weeks." He had surgery March 9 to remove the fractured sesamoid bone from his left foot.

San Diego Padres INF Logan Forsythe (foot) underwent surgery on his left foot Friday, March 9, and will be out for six to eight weeks. He had the same procedure done on the sesamoid bone in his right foot in college.

The players signed were SP Anthony Bass, RP Brad Brach, RP Andrew Cashner, RP Ernesto Frieri, RP Erik Hamren, SP Nick Vincent, RP Jose De Paula, SP Cory Luebke, RP Juan Oramas, RP Josh Spence, SS Everth Cabrera, 3B James Darnell, 2B Logan Forsythe, 1B Jesus Guzman, 2B Andrew Parrino, 3B Edinson Rincon, SS Jeudy Valdez, OF Kyle Blanks, OF Rymer Liriano and OF Blake Tekotte. Financial terms weren't given.
