Rays | James Loney out Tuesday

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 15:31:12 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 1B James Loney is not in the lineup against Detroit Tigers left-handed SP David Price Tuesday, July 28. 2B Logan Forsythe is starting at first base and hitting cleanup, while SS Tim Beckham slides over to second base and is hitting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Forsythe ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) has been a pleasant surprise for the Rays this year. However, he's not your prototypical cleanup hitter and is in a tough matchup against Price tonight. It might be tough for him to return any value Tuesday night.

Sat, 25 Jul 2015 12:17:17 -0700

Fantasy Tip: Forsythe ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) is 7-for-17 with a home run and four RBIs over the past week. He is 3-for-9 in his career versus Gonzalez with one double and warrants consideration for FantasyScore lineups.

Rays | Logan Forsythe will not start

Fri, 24 Jul 2015 12:37:55 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 2B Logan Forsythe is not in the starting lineup against Baltimore Orioles SP Chris Tillman Friday, July 24. OF Jake Elmore will start in second base and is batting seventh in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Forsythe ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and should return soon. Elmore ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is hitting only .100 this month and probably should be passed over by owners on FantasyScore.

Rays | Logan Forsythe hitting cleanup

Wed, 22 Jul 2015 06:35:22 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 2B Logan Forsythe is hitting cleanup Wednesday, July 22, against Philadelphia Phillies SP Adam Morgan.

Fantasy Tip: Forsythe ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) is hitting .232-1-6 this month and doesn't offer a lot of pop. He's probably not worth that price tag on FantasyScore despite the premium lineup placement.

Rays | Logan Forsythe moves up in lineup

Mon, 20 Jul 2015 12:14:08 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 2B Logan Forsythe will start at second base against Philadelphia Phillies SP David Buchanan Monday, July 20, and is batting second in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Forsythe ($4,500, 9.8% of cap) moves up in the lineup after receiving a lot of time in the middle of the lineup. He has at least one hit in eight of his last 11 games and four RBI during that span. Owners on FantasyScore could consider using Forsythe in their lineups.

Tampa Bay Rays 2B Logan Forsythe is not in the starting lineup against New York Yankees SP Michael Pineda Saturday, July 4. OF Jake Elmore will start at second base and is batting eighth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Forsythe ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) should return to the lineup in the near future. Elmore ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) has struggled at the plate recently with only two hits in his last 11 games. Owners on FantasyScore should be able to find better options to use in their lineups.

Rays | Nick Franklin playing second base

Sat, 13 Jun 2015 12:50:57 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays INF Nick Franklin is in the starting lineup as the second baseman against the Chicago White Sox Saturday, June 13. 2B Logan Forsythe is getting the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Franklin ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) played shortstop Friday, June 12, but SS Asdrubral Cabrera ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) is back in the lineup Saturday. Franklin is batting .135 entering play Saturday, with Cabrera hitting .208, so neither player is a viable FantasyScore option.

Fantasy Tip: Forsythe ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) probably is receiving a day off and should return soon. Franklin ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) has picked up four hits in his last three games but is batting only .135 on the season. Owners on FantasyScore should be able to find better options.

Rays | Tim Beckham in lineup Friday

Fri, 22 May 2015 11:51:28 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 2B Tim Beckham is in the starting lineup Friday, May 22, against the Oakland Athletics. 2B Logan Forsythe is serving as designated hitter.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) has had mixed success, but his average in the last week (.333 in four games) shows signs he may be getting it. Is it too late to save him from going to the minors? Time will tell, but for Friday give him a try.

Rays | Logan Forsythe hitting cleanup

Mon, 11 May 2015 13:19:44 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 2B Logan Forsythe is serving as the designated hitter and is hitting cleanup against New York Yankees SP CC Sabathia Monday, May 11.

Fantasy Tip: Forsythe ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) has had a productive season to this point as a utility player for the Rays, hitting .286 (30-for-105) with two home runs and 12 RBI. Sabathia has been hit hard by right-handed batters in 2015, making Forsythe a cheap sleeper candidate at FantasyScore.
