The St. Petersburg Times reports the Tampa Bay Rays are bringing 22 of their most promising prospects, including P Jeremy Hellickson and OF Desmond Jennings, to St. Petersburg next week for a four-day winter development program. Players will work out at Tropicana Field, and also undergo media training, make community relations appearances and attend a Lightning game. The invited players are C Luke Bailey, P Nick Barnese, SS Tim Beckham, P Alex Colome, P Joseph Cruz, P Devin Fuller, OF Todd Glaesmann, Hellickson, P Kevin James, C Jake Jefferies, Jennings, P Kyle Lobstein, P Jake McGee, P Matthew Moore, P David Newmann, 1B Jeff Malm, SS Juniel Querecuto, OF Cody Rogers, P Scott Shuman, 3B Matthew Sweeney, P Albert Suarez, and P Alexander Torres.

The Tampa Tribune's Marc Lancaster reports that the Tampa Bay Rays have signed four of their 2009 draft picks. OF Todd Glaesmann (third round), C Luke Bailey (fourth round), 1B Jeff Malm (fifth round) and P Kevin James (ninth round) will all report to the franchise's Gulf Coast League team in Port Charlotte.

The St. Petersburg Times' Marc Topkin reports the Tampa Bay Rays are closing in on a deal with third-round pick OF Todd Glaesmann, fourth-round pick C Luke Bailey, fifth-round pick 1B Jeff Malm and ninth-round pick P Kevin James.

Marc Topkin, of the St. Petersburg Times, reports Tampa Bay Rays SS Kenny Diekroeger (second round) and OF Todd Glaesmann (third round) are both expected to meet with the team within the next few weeks to begin contract negotiations.
