Washington Nationals OF Bryce Harper has started fewer games in center field (six) than he's started in both of the corner outfield spots. The Nats have already decided that he's not the answer in center field, even in the short term.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Mike Trout is hitting almost 100 points higher in batting average and 180 points in OPS than Washington Nationals OF Bryce Harper. "I've always said I'll take Trout over Harper, because I think he controls the game better and he controls himself better," one National League executive said. "I just like Trout's rhythm as a player better. It just seems like it happens easier. He doesn't have to exert the same effort or energy to make it happen. I love the way Harper plays. He's like a power guy with a Pete Rose mindset. But Trout has the ability to slow the game down more than Harper does - or at least he does right now."

Washington Nationals OF Bryce Harper (eye) was back in right field Saturday, May 12, against the Cincinnati Reds with a large bandage over his left eye. He required 10 stitches after suffering a gash from slamming his bat against a wall Friday, May 11. He was hitless in four at-bats with a strikeout.

Washington Nationals OF Bryce Harper (eye) had a welt and cut above his left eye Friday, May 11. He required 10 stitches for the gash, but did not feel dazed. He said he has no intention of missing a game.
