The Texas Rangers released OF Ruben Sierra Jr. from the team's minor league camp Wednesday, March 28. The team also cut P Cody Evans, P Jorge Marban, P John Meloan, 1B Clark Murphy, OF Efrain Nunez, OF Kendall Radcliffe, INF Jonathan Roof, OF Orlando Sandoval and P Fabian Williamson.

The Dallas Morning News' Drew Davison reports the Texas Rangers selected OF Ruben Sierra Jr. out of San Juan Educational School in the sixth round of the First-Year Player Draft. Sierra, who is the son of former major league OF Ruben Sierra, is an athletic, left-handed center fielder.
