Five of the top 10 Chicago White Sox prospects are among 20 non-roster invitees the team will bring to spring camp. OF's Trayce Thompson and Keenyn Walker are joined by INF Carlos Sanchez and P's Scott Snodgress and Erik Johnson. The White Sox had also agreed to minor league contracts with P's Jeff Gray, David Purcey and Ramon Troncoso; C Brian Anderson; INF's Josh Bell and Steven Tolleson; and OF Stefan Gartrell.

The Chicago White Sox assigned Ps Anthony Carter, Simon Castro, Deunte Heath, Pedro Hernandez, Charlie Leesman, Jhan Marinez, Donnie Veal, Nestor Molina and Jose Quintana, INFs Osvaldo Martinez and Tyler Kuhn, C Michael Blanke and OFs Jared Mitchell and Trayce Thompson to minor league camp Monday, March 19.

Chicago White Sox OF Trayce Thompson (thumb) will have surgery on an injured right thumb and could miss a month or more, according to Baseball America's Matt Eddy. The 2009 second-round pick is hitting .236 with six homers in 144 at-bats at Low-A Kannapolis.

Mark Gonzales, of The Chicago Tribune, reports the Chicago White Sox signed OF Trayce Thompson, their second-round draft pick, Tuesday, July 28. He will receive a $625,000 bonus.

The Chicago Tribune's Mark Gonzales reports the Chicago White Sox selected OF Trayce Thompson from Santa Margarita High School in California in the second round of the First-Year Player Draft. He is the son of former NBA player Mychael Thompson.
