White Sox | Trayce Thompson batting fifth vs. Seattle

Sun, 30 Aug 2015 08:45:12 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Trayce Thompson is starting in right field and batting fifth against Seattle Mariners SP Edgar Olmos Sunday, Aug. 30. 1B Adam LaRoche is not in the starting lineup Sunday.

Fantasy Tip: Thompson ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has been a huge boost against lefties in the heart of the lineup for Chicago. While it is a small sample size, he is 12-for-20 with three doubles, a triple and two home runs against southpaws this season. At his FantasyScore cap hit, you can lock him into your lineup as budget play.

White Sox | Trayce Thompson batting fifth

Thu, 27 Aug 2015 14:21:54 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Trayce Thompson is starting in right field and batting fifth against Seattle Mariners SP Roenis Elias Thursday, Aug. 27. 1B Adam LaRoche is not in the starting lineup Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: Thompson ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) is 10-for-17 with two home runs and five RBI against southpaws to start his major league career. It is obviously an unsustainable pace, but given Thompson's salary, he is worth a long look at FantasyScore Thursday. LaRoche ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) stands to lose starts against lefties to the rookie going forward.

White Sox | Adam LaRoche out of the lineup

Tue, 25 Aug 2015 15:50:28 -0700

Chicago White Sox 1B Adam LaRoche is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, Aug. 25. OF Trayce Thompson draws into the lineup and is batting fifth against Boston Red Sox SP Wade Miley Tuesday.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid LaRoche ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) in all fantasy formats Tuesday. The veteran is struggling through an awful campaign and doesn't warrant a roster spot in the majority of seasonal leagues. Thompson ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) is 9-for-19 to start his career, and he checks out as an upside source of cap relief for FantasyScore players Tuesday.

White Sox | Adam LaRoche to start on bench

Mon, 17 Aug 2015 15:25:39 -0700

Chicago White Sox 1B Adam LaRoche is not in the lineup against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim left-handed SP Andrew Heaney Monday, Aug. 17. OF Trayce Thompson is serving as the designated hitter and is batting fifth.

Fantasy Tip: Thompson ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has made a nice impression in his short stint with Chicago, going 6-for-12 with a home run and RBI. Over a full season, he has 20-20 potential, meaning he could be worth looking at as a successful deep sleeper in daily games. However, he's facing an Angels pitcher that has been even more impressive on the mound this season.

White Sox | Trayce Thompson off to strong start

Thu, 13 Aug 2015 05:17:22 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Trayce Thompson is 6-for-12 since his callup from Class AAA Charlotte last week.

Fantasy Tip: Thompson ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) is turning into a solid, low-cost FantasyScore option for the time being. His bat could slump, but for now give him a chance if you need an outfielder and the price is right.

White Sox | Adam LaRoche out again

Wed, 12 Aug 2015 15:47:35 -0700

Chicago White Sox 1B Adam LaRoche is out of the lineup for the second straight day against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim left-handed SP Andrew Heaney Wednesday, Aug. 12. OF Adam Eaton is serving as the designated hitter, while OF Trayce Thompson is starting in center field and hitting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Thompson ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has a nice mix of speed and power, and he even homered in his start last night. However, he remains a deep sleeper at a cheap cost on FantasyScore against Heaney, who has really impressed in his stint with the Halos so far.

White Sox | Adam LaRoche taking day off

Tue, 11 Aug 2015 14:31:33 -0700

Chicago White Sox 1B Adam LaRoche is not in the lineup against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim left-handed SP Hector Santiago Tuesday, Aug. 11. OF Melky Cabrera is serving as the designated hitter, which allows OF Trayce Thompson to start in left field. Thompson is hitting ninth in the batting order.

Fantasy Tip: Thompson ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has a very interesting mix of power and speed from his days on the farm. However, hitting low in the batting order limits his FantasyScore value to deep sleeper status. He can also help you significantly with salary cap relief if you want to use him as a lottery ticket.

White Sox | Adam LaRoche sitting out

Sun, 09 Aug 2015 08:41:11 -0700

Chicago White Sox 1B Adam LaRoche is not in the starting lineup against Kansas City Royals SP Danny Duffy Sunday, Aug. 9. OF Adam Eaton will serve as the designated hitter and is batting first in the lineup, while OF Trayce Thompson will start in center field and is batting sixth.

Fantasy Tip: LaRoche ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) likely is sitting out because the team is facing a left-handed pitcher. Thompson ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has gone 2-for-3 since being recalled from the team but may not be a fantasy option at this point.

White Sox | Adam Eaton suffers shoulder injury

Fri, 07 Aug 2015 18:35:27 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Adam Eaton (shoulder) left the game against the Kansas City Royals Friday, Aug. 7, in the fourth inning, due to a jammed left shoulder. He was replaced in the game by OF Trayce Thompson and is considered day-to-day.

Fantasy Tip: Eaton ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) had been on a tear since the All-Star break, batting .375 in 72 at-bats with three home runs, seven RBIs and six steals. Avoid using him in FantasyScore until he has proven he can play in at least one full game without aggravating the injury.
