Atlanta Braves SP David Hale likely will only throw 65 to 70 pitches during his spot start Saturday, June 27, because he has been used as the long man out of the bullpen, according to manager Fredi Gonzalez.

Atlanta Braves SP David Hale will start the second game of the doubleheader Saturday, June 28, against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Fantasy Tip: Hale will likely be on a pitch count, but could be a potential stream target against the Phillies' woeful offense.

Atlanta Braves P David Hale is now pitching out of the bullpen, as a result of SP Mike Minor recently rejoining the starting rotation.

Atlanta Braves SP Mike Minor (shoulder) will pitch once more for Double-A Mississippi Friday, April 25, before returning to the major leagues.
Fantasy Tip: This means Minor will be activated to make his season debut sometime next week. He's expected to replace David Hale in the rotation. Minor may start slow out of the gates, but he's worth watching in deep mixed leagues.

The Atlanta Braves will skip SP David Hale in the rotation as a result of the rainout Tuesday, April 15. They'll go with SP Julio Teheran on Wednesday, April 16, and SP Alex Wood on Thursday, April 17.

Atlanta Braves SP Brandon Beachy (elbow) will undergo Tommy John surgery on his elbow Friday, March 21.
Fantasy Tip: This shouldn't come as much of a surprise at this point. You can safely drop Beachy in all leagues. It means that David Hale and Freddy Garcia will open the year in the rotation. Alex Wood, a nice sleeper candidate, sees his stock rise now that he'll be safe to stick in the rotation all season long.

The Atlanta Braves are dealing with several injuries to their rotation, and if SPs Brandon Beachy (elbow), Kris Medlen (forearm) and Mike Minor (shoulder) are all not ready for the regular season, SP David Hale might find himself breaking camp with the team and opening the regular season in the starting rotation.

Atlanta Braves SP Brandon Beachy (biceps) had "discomfort" in his right biceps Monday, March 10, and was unable to locate his pitches. Beachy's velocity was also down Monday, and he said that he's already attempted to ramp up his velocity this spring.
Fantasy Tip: Beachy is fully removed from TJS surgery, but clearly, health issues remain. He also had cleanup surgery on his right elbow in the offseason. Atlanta's rotation could now be in dire straights if Beachy and Kris Medlen (forearm) are out for the long term. That would put both David Hale and Freddy Garcia in line to open the season in the rotation as replacements.

Updating a previous report, Atlanta Braves SP Kris Medlen (forearm) has a strained right forearm. He will be re-evaluated Monday, March 10.
Fantasy Tip: His reaction on the mound wasn't pretty. At the very least, this puts his status for the start of the season very much in jeopardy. His departure would create an opening for David Hale, who could be useful in NL-only leagues. We don't want to spread a big cloud of negativity, but we would suggest treading carefully if drafting Medlen.
