Angels | Mike Trout to avoid DL

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 14:17:33 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Mike Trout (wrist), who isn't in the lineup again Wednesday, July 29, wants to be 100% healthy before returning so that he can avoid a setback. He said his wrist feels "a lot better," and he will avoid a trip to the disabled list.

Fantasy Tip: New acquisition David DeJesus ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) will start in center field and lead off against Houston Astros starter Lance McCullers tonight in his debut. DeJesus figures to hit leadoff often for the Halos when he's starting against right-handed pitchers, and a placement in the leadoff spot looks good for his daily value. However, his overall fantasy value shouldn't change all that much with the move to the west coast.

Angels | MRI clean for Mike Trout

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 21:29:18 -0700

Updating a previous report, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Mike Trout (wrist) had an MRI on his wrist and it checked out normal, manager Mike Scioscia said Tuesday, July 28. He is considered day to day. Scioscia said it's even possible Trout could start Wednesday, July 29.

Fantasy Tip: FantasyScore players would be wise to avoid Trout ($6,500, 13.0% of cap) until he can officially play a game and prove his health in a full outing without any setbacks.

Angels | Mike Trout going for MRI

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 15:36:35 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Mike Trout (wrist) is going for an MRI exam on his left wrist Tuesday, July 28. Manager Mike Scioscia is "hopeful" that Trout will remain day-to-day. Trout's wrist is feeling better than it did Monday, July 27.

Fantasy Tip: It would be a huge loss if fantasy owners were to be without Trout ($6,500, 13.0% of cap) for an extended amount of time. Make plans for the worst-case scenario in the meantime and check back for Trout's MRI results.

Angels | Mike Trout sitting out

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 14:08:16 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Mike Trout (wrist) is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, July 28, due to a sore left wrist after he dove for a ball Sunday, July 26. Trout later hit a grand slam in that game Sunday, but his wrist was too sore to play against the Houston Astros Tuesday. OF Daniel Robertson is starting in center field Tuesday.

Fantasy Tip: Trout's injury isn't believed to be very serious, but keep an eye on his condition heading into Wednesday. Robertson ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) has hit .290 (20-for-69) for the Angels in a small sample size. He's more of a low-end option for salary cap relief in daily lineups.

Angels | Mike Trout, Erick Aybar fine

Mon, 27 Jul 2015 11:08:39 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Mike Trout (wrist) and SS Erick Aybar (head) are both expected to be in the lineup when the team plays the Houston Astros Tuesday, July 28, according to manager Mike Scioscia. Aybar was injured in a collision with OF Matt Joyce Sunday, July 26, while Trout landed on his left wrist attempting to make a diving catch. "It's fine. A little sore," said Trout, his wrist wrapped after the game in which he homered twice and drove in five runs. "Just a scary thing for me. I didn't really know what to expect -- it hurt pretty bad, but once I loosened up it was better."

Fantasy Tip: Trout ($6,500, 13.0% of cap) homered twice Sunday, including a grand slam, so he's safe to continue running with on FantasyScore. Aybar ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) has been a valuable daily play at shortstop lately and makes for a fine pick Tuesday against Astros starter Collin McHugh.

Angels | Mike Trout has monster game

Sun, 26 Jul 2015 17:10:01 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Mike Trout had a season-high four hits in a 13-7 win over the Texas Rangers Sunday, July 26, finishing 4-for-4 with two home runs, five RBI, three runs scored and a walk.

Fantasy Tip: Trout ($6,500, 13.0% of cap) had been in a mini slump since the All-Star break, but he went 8-for-12 with three homers and seven RBI in three games against the Rangers. He is once again one of the best options to build a lineup around at FantasyScore.

Angels | Mike Trout slumping

Thu, 23 Jul 2015 20:15:50 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Mike Trout went 1-for-4 in a 3-0 loss to the Minnesota Twins Thursday, July 23, and he is 4-for-23 since the All-Star break.

Fantasy Tip: Trout ($6,500, 13.0% of cap) is too good to slump for long, and he is still worth using at FantasyScore if he draws a can't-miss matchup.

Angels | Mike Trout in as designated hitter

Wed, 22 Jul 2015 15:03:39 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Mike Trout (heel) is batting third as the designated hitter against Minnesota Twins SP Mike Pelfrey Wednesday, July 22.

Fantasy Tip: Trout ($6,300, 12.6% of cap) was only expected to miss a single game, and fantasy owners can return him to their lineups with confidence against Pelfrey. He is a high-end FantasyScore option, and arguably, the No. 1 outfielder in the player pool Wednesday.

Angels | Mike Trout expects to play Wednesday

Tue, 21 Jul 2015 16:39:19 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Mike Trout (heel) said Tuesday, July 21, he doesn't know how his heel started bothering him, but he expects to play Wednesday, July 22.

Fantasy Tip: Trout ($6,500, 13.0% of cap) had seven home runs in his past 10 games, so owners will want to see him get back in the lineup before he slips out of his groove.

Angels | Mike Trout nursing sore heel

Tue, 21 Jul 2015 15:31:41 -0700

Updating a previous story, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Mike Trout (heel) is out Tuesday, July 21, due to a sore left heel, and he is considered day-to-day. OF Daniel Robertson will start in center field and bat ninth in the order against the Minnesota Twins and RHP Kyle Gibson.

Fantasy Tip: Robertson ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) has gone 2-for-8 with a single and a double in his last two starts. He should be viewed as a low-floor, low-ceiling option on FantasyScore.
