White will start Tuesday, May 8, and Friedrich will go Wednesday, May 9, against the San Diego Padres. Friedrich will be making his major league debut.

SP Christian Friedrich (hamstring) still needs to prove he is healthy. Chacin has minor league options remaining, so he's expected to be sent down for a tune-up.

White pitched two scoreless innings against the Cincinnati Reds Sunday, March 25, striking out three and giving up two hits. "My stuff is getting better and better and my slider is coming along," White said. "My two-seamer is working well right now. I throw pretty hard and I can use my four-seamer as a weapon as well." It's unclear if he'll start if he begins the season in the minors.
