Giants | Joe Panik activated from DL

San Francisco Giants 2B Joe Panik (concussion) was activated from the disabled list Thursday, July 28. In a corresponding move, 2B Grant Green was optioned to the minors.

Fantasy Tip: When he's been healthy, Panik's had a respectable season with a .256/.321/407 slash line, 45 runs, seven home runs, 36 RBI and five stolen bases. However, while there's upside, he's likely best suited for deep leagues at this point.

Giants | Two Giants out of the lineup

Tue, 26 Jul 2016 16:19:00 -0700

San Francisco Giants OF Jarrett Parker and 3B Conor Gillaspie are not in the starting lineup against Cincinnati Reds SP Cody Reed Tuesday, July 26. OF Mac Williamson will start in right field and is batting third. 2B Ramiro Pena will start at third base, while 2B Grant Green will start at second base and is batting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Williamson is hitting .293 with four home runs and 11 RBI this month and can be an attractive option for owners in daily fantasy leagues. Grant is hitting .300 in his limited playing time this season but is still not a great fantasy option.

Giants | Denard Span returns Friday

Fri, 08 Jul 2016 14:59:14 -0700

San Francisco Giants OF Denard Span (neck) is back in the starting lineup as the leadoff hitter against Arizona Diamondbacks SP Patrick Corbin Friday, July 8. 2B Grant Green moves down to seventh in the batting order.

Fantasy Tip: Span has produced mediocre stats across the board this year with a .253 average, 38 runs scored, four home runs, 30 RBI and eight stolen bases. He can be useful in deep mixed and NL-only leagues for his runs and speed, but he's not giving you much else. Span has hit .230 with a homer and eight RBI against lefties, so give him another day before bringing him back in your lineups.
