Royals | Mike Minor has some fatigue

Tue, 31 May 2016 15:41:53 -0700

Kansas City Royals SP Mike Minor (shoulder) is dealing with some rotator cuff fatigue on his rehab assignment. Manager Ned Yost stressed that Minor's condition is not serious, and the pitcher was looked at by the training staff this week.

Fantasy Tip: Minor's setback isn't serious, but he has a 7.25 ERA and 1.65 WHIP in five minor league rehab games so far and hasn't pitched since 2014 with the Braves. He won't be guaranteed a rotation spot, either, when he's healthy. Consider him a watch list guy in AL-only leagues for now.

Royals | Mike Minor rehabbing at Omaha

Wed, 18 May 2016 17:56:46 -0700

Kansas City Royals SP Mike Minor (shoulder) has moved from Class AA Northwest Arkansas to Class AAA Omaha in order to continue his rehab assignment. If all goes well, he could be activated from the disabled list during the first week of June.

Fantasy Tip: Minor posted a 3.52 ERA in two starts at Northwest Arkansas, with five walks and 12 strikeouts in just 7 2/3 innings. The 28-year-old lefty hasn't pitched in the majors since 2014 and is only worth considering for AL-only fantasy leagues at this point.

Royals | Mike Minor beginning rehab

Tue, 10 May 2016 15:15:00 -0700

Kansas City Royals SP Mike Minor (shoulder) will begin his rehab assignment Tuesday, May 10, for Class AA Northwest Arkansas.

Fantasy Tip: Minor hasn't pitched in the majors since 2014, and he was atrocious that year, finishing 6-12 with a 4.77 ERA and 1.44 WHIP. As a result, it's hard to recommend him for any formats outside of deep AL-only leagues, as he really has to prove himself again before he can be trusted by fantasy owners.

Royals | Mike Minor to miss several weeks

Sat, 20 Feb 2016 11:50:42 -0800

Kansas City Royals SP Mike Minor (elbow) will not be available for the first six weeks to two months of the regular season, according to general manager Dayton Moore.

Fantasy Tip: Minor, who has not pitched since the 2014 season, is recovering from shoulder surgery and should be viewed as nothing more than a late-round flier in AL-only fantasy leagues.

Royals | Mike Minor signs with KC

Fri, 19 Feb 2016 11:01:00 -0800

Free-agent SP Mike Minor (Braves) signed a two-year deal with the Kansas City Royals Friday, Feb. 19. The deal includes a mutual option for 2018. SP Jason Vargas (elbow) was placed on the 60-day disabled list to make room for Minor on the 40-man roster.

Fantasy Tip: Minor missed all of 2015 with a shoulder injury. He'll be an option in AL-only leagues if he's healthy.

Braves | Mike Minor non-tendered

Wed, 02 Dec 2015 19:06:09 -0800

The Atlanta Braves have decided not to tender a contract to SP Mike Minor, making him a free agent.

Fantasy Tip: Minor missed the entire 2015 season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn labrum in his pitching shoulder. He is 38-36 with a 4.10 ERA in 111 career games (110 starts) and could merit consideration as a late-round flier in next season's fantasy drafts if he has a strong showing in spring training.

Braves | Mike Minor to return in 2016

Tue, 06 Oct 2015 00:43:25 -0700

Atlanta Braves SP Mike Minor will be back with the club for the 2016 season, according to team sources.

Fantasy Tip: Minor lost an entire season to shoulder surgery, so his contract value should not change. His fantasy value will likely be way down, but Minor could be a sleeper candidate in NL leagues based on how well his shoulder looks in spring camp.
