Updating previous reports, Arizona Diamondbacks OF A.J. Pollock (hand) will have surgery on his right hand and miss six to eight weeks. "The bone is kind of upward," said manager Kirk Gibson, who added hand specialist Dr. Don Sheridan will perform the surgery in the next day or two. "They're going have to pull it in traction, straighten it out; probably put a plate on it. Ideally, they would like to put a pin in it, I guess, but I don't know if they're going to be able to that."

The Arizona Diamondbacks have placed OF A.J. Pollock (hand) on the 15-day disabled list because of a fractured right hand. In corresponding moves, the team has selected the contract of OF David Peralta from Double-A Mobile and transferred RP Matt Reynolds (elbow) from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

Arizona Diamondbacks OF A.J. Pollock (hand) sustained a fracture in his right hand Saturday, May 31, when he was hit by a pitch. He'll be placed on the disabled list Sunday, June 1, and should miss significant time. The club is still determining whether surgery will be necessary.
Fantasy Tip: It's a big blow to a bat who was raking, as well as his owners. This is an unfortunate way to clear up playing time for Mark Trumbo's (foot) imminent return. Cody Ross and Gerardo Parra should be nearly locked into the lineup, but someone like Alfredo Marte could chip in, as well, for NL-only purposes.

Updating a previous report, Arizona Diamondbacks OF A.J. Pollock (groin) was sidelined for a fifth straight game Monday, May 5, but manager Kirk Gibson said he is close to returning. Gibson also indicated that Pollock might return as a corner outfielders for a while to put less stress on his injured groin. "If there's an option other than center field that might help," Gibson said.
