|Diamondbacks | A.J. Pollock wants to play in 2016|
Wed, 20 Jul 2016 14:54:27 -0700
Arizona Diamondbacks OF A.J. Pollock (elbow) has been hitting off a tee and throwing from 75 feet, and he believes he will return and play again this season. "I didn't have a thought that I wasn't going to play this year," Pollock said. "I'm going to play, and when I'm out there, it's going to be like I feel like I could've been out there a month earlier, which is a good thing. I'm going to get asked the question, 'Do you think it's too early?' and it's not going to be. It's going to be really, really easy. When I'm out there, I'm going to be ready to go."
Fantasy Tip: View Pollock as a desperation stash in all one-year leagues. However, he's a ripe stash for any keeper/dynasty owners who are already looking ahead to 2017. Pollock is coming off a monster five-category season, after all. Stay tuned for updates, but your expectations should be kept in check.

|Diamondbacks | A.J. Pollock aiming for return|
Sun, 17 Jul 2016 05:14:19 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Pollock believes he could see action very late in the year, but don't be surprised, given the team's 38-53 record, if the Diamondbacks tell Pollock to cool it and prepare for 2017. Pollock's belief is based on his bone-to-bone healing stats, but the only thing that matters to you is can he play. If you can afford to pick Pollock up and stash him, he may be worth the risk.

|Diamondbacks | A.J. Pollock thinks he can return|
Wed, 01 Jun 2016 09:08:13 -0700
Arizona Diamondbacks OF A.J. Pollock (elbow) has not ruled out playing again this season after he fractured his right elbow during a headfirst slide in an April 1 exhibition game. He was told by doctors he couldn't resume baseball activities for at least three months after he had surgery to insert a plate on the tip of his elbow. Pollock said he's on track to resume activities July 1.
Fantasy Tip: When healthy, Pollock is a five-category contributor for fantasy owners. So even though it's not a lock that he returns this year, he should remain stashed in all leagues just in case. Owners that took Pollock in the late first round or early second round of drafts this year have had to scramble for suitable replacements.

|Diamondbacks | A.J. Pollock out minimum of three months|
Sat, 09 Apr 2016 16:37:37 -0700
Arizona Diamondbacks OF A.J. Pollock (elbow) will miss a minimum of three months and could miss the rest of the season, according to his surgeon, Dr. Don Sheridan. Pollock's injury was related to a 2010 break to the same elbow. X-rays taken in spring training revealed a broken screw and poor healing following the previous surgery, although the team said MRIs and X-rays revealed no long-term issues.
In the latest surgery, Pollock had a plate screwed onto the broken elbow and parts of bone tissue from his hip placed into the injury to help healing. He will undergo electric stimulation, and Sheridan said they "pulled out all the stops" to hope the bone heals correctly this time. "He freshly broke through an area of the bone that had been broken before but never healed," Sheridan said.
Fantasy Tip: If you own Pollock, you have to ride it out. However, it doesn't sound promising that he'll make a substantial contribution to your fantasy team this year. Socrates Brito and Chris Owings are splitting time in center, with the former holding more traditional league value due to his speed.

|Diamondbacks | A.J. Pollock on 60-day DL|
Tue, 05 Apr 2016 13:45:14 -0700
Fantasy Tip: This just confirms what we already knew: Pollock will be out for an extended time with a serious elbow fracture. He could still return to play later this year, so you'll have to stash him in all formats. Chris Owings and Socrates Brito will split time in center field in the meantime, with Brito being slightly more attractive for his power in deep mixed leagues.

|Diamondbacks | A.J. Pollock to have surgery Tuesday|
Mon, 04 Apr 2016 15:02:20 -0700
Fantasy Tip: There is no timetable for Pollock to return, but he's hoping he'll be back at some point in 2016. You'll have to keep him stashed in all formats. Chris Owings and Socrates Brito are expected to split time in center field with Pollock out. Owings is a work in progress and is tempting in deeper mixed leagues for his speed, while Brito has the power upside and is likely more attractive in all fantasy formats.

|Diamondbacks | A.J. Pollock placed on disabled list|
Sun, 03 Apr 2016 13:42:52 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Pollock fractured his right elbow on a slide Friday night and could miss the rest of the season. Socrates Brito and Chris Owings will likely form a left-right platoon in his absence. Given the lack of consistent playing time right away, it is hard to recommend either player for fantasy purposes in most casual leagues.

|Diamondbacks | Socrates Brito the everyday CF now?|
Sat, 02 Apr 2016 16:40:31 -0700
Updating a previous story, Arizona Diamondbacks OF Socrates Brito "will be our everyday center fielder", according to manager Chip Hale. The team is scrambling to find an option at the position after OF A.J. Pollock (elbow) fractured his elbow on Saturday, April 2.
Fantasy Tip: Hale went on to say he feels Chris Owings matches up better against southpaws, so it appears the skipper contradicted himself here. Owners should expect a left-right platoon in center unless either Brito or Owings runs with the job in Pollock's absence. At least for the first week of the season, it is a wait-and-see situation in fantasy.
