The Chicago Cubs claimed RP Guillermo Moscoso off waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays Wednesday, March 27, and placed RP Arodys Vizcaino (elbow) on the 60-day disabled list in a corresponding move. Moscoso is in the mix for the final bullpen spot.

Colorado Rockies 3B Nolan Arenado is unlikely to be called up when rosters expand in September. Arenado is not on the 40-man roster, so the team would have to drop another player just to add him. Also, adding him to the roster would kick start the clock on his major league arbitration. 1B Jason Giambi (illness) and SP Guillermo Moscoso will rejoin the team Saturday, Sept. 1.

Colorado Rockies SP Guillermo Moscoso will be called up when rosters expand Saturday, Sept. 1, and he'll return to the bullpen. 1B Matt McBride and 3B Nolan Arenado are other candidates to be called up from the minors.

Colorado Rockies P Josh Roenicke will receive a break from piggyback duties and will instead settle into a matchup role out of the bullpen. SP Guillermo Moscoso will replace Roenicke in the role.
