The Pittsburgh Pirates recalled P Bryan Morris from Triple-A Indianapolis Friday, April 12, and P Chris Leroux was designated for assignment in a corresponding move. Leroux can opt for free agency if he clears waivers.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have called up Ps Jeff Locke and Justin Wilson and C Eric Fryer from Triple-A Indianapolis. They have also selected the contracts of P Chris Leroux and INF Brock Holt from Indianapolis.

Pittsburgh Pirates SP Jeff Locke, who could be among the first wave of September call-ups, could take the rotation spot of recently released SP Erik Bedard. The Pirates outrighted 1B Jeff Clement to Single-A Bradenton and sent SS Chase d'Arnaud to Bradenton as well. However, both players will return to the majors Monday, Sept. 3. C Eric Fryer and P Justin Wilson are expected to be recalled this weekend, too. 3Bs Yamaico Navarro and Matt Hague and Ps Chris Leroux, Evan Meek and Bryan Morris are other possibilities.

Pittsburgh Pirates P Chris Leroux (oblique) started his rehab assignment with Single-A Bradenton Wednesday, June 6, allowing an earned run on two hits in three innings. He walked one and struck out two.
