The Pittsburgh Pirates placed SP James McDonald (shoulder) on the 15-day disabled list with pain in his right shoulder Tuesday, May 7. The DL stint is retroactive to May 1. 3B Josh Harrison has been recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis to fill the empty spot on the roster. SP Jeanmar Gomez will make the start against the Seattle Mariners Tuesday.

Fantasy Tip: McDonald has been terribly inconsistent this year and can be safely dropped in most mixed universes. Gomez entered the rotation when Pittsburgh cut bait on Jonathan Sanchez. Consider Gomez in NL-only formats.

The camp for Cleveland Indians SP Jeanmar Gomez has reached out to several MLB teams, including the Minnesota Twins, after he was recently designated for assignment. However, it is unknown if the Twins are interested enough to consider trading for him.
