The New York Mets appear to have plenty of candidates to choose from for their managerial vacancy, according to the New York Daily News' Andy Martino. The candidates include minor league manager Wally Backman, third base coach Chip Hale, Ken Oberkfell, Bob Melvin, Terry Collins, Clint Hurdle, Lee Mazzilli, Pete Mackanin and Don Wakamatsu.

Former Seattle Mariners manager Don Wakamatsu is the leading candidate to join the Baltimore Orioles as the new bench coach for manager Buck Showalter but discussions concerning the position are still ongoing, according to Dan Connolly of The Baltimore Sun.

Baltimore Orioles manager Buck Showalter has not yet determined which coaches he will bring back for the 2011 season, according to Jeff Zrebiec of The Baltimore Sun. The situation may not be resolved until after the World Series because of the high number of managerial vacancies around the major leagues. Two coaches who appear to be high on Showalter's wish list include Toronto Blue Jays third-base coach Brian Butterfield and former Seattle Mariners manager Don Wakamatsu.
