San Francisco 49ers WRs DeAndre Smelter and RB Mike Davis were left off the 53-man roster projection, according to ESPN.com's Michael Wagaman.
Fantasy Tip: This is just one man's opinion, but it's an educated and informed opinion, too. Smelter and Davis probably wouldn't play huge roles anyway, but Smelter at least would be worth a flier look in deeper leagues if he does make the team.

San Francisco 49ers RBs Carlos Hyde (foot) and Mike Davis (hand) both missed practice Friday, Nov. 6, and have been ruled out against the Atlanta Falcons.
Fantasy Tip: Kendall Gaskins ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) is set to start against the Falcons with Reggie Bush (knee) also out for the year. The Falcons are the top matchup in PPR leagues like FantasyScore for running backs, so Gaskins has plenty of appeal as a deep sleeper.

San Francisco 49ers RB Mike Davis (hand) is scheduled to undergo surgery Tuesday, Nov. 3, to repair his broken hand, according to sources. Davis will know how long he will be out after he undergoes the surgery.
Fantasy Tip: Owners will have to look for an updated timetable on Davis' return after he undergoes the surgery. Kendall Gaskins likely would start against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 9 if Davis is not able to play. Gaskins recently joined the active roster and probably should be avoided by fantasy owners.
Mon, 02 Nov 2015 10:52:40 -0800
San Francisco 49ers RB Mike Davis (hand) is believed to have suffered a fractured hand in Week 8, according to sources.
Fantasy Tip: Reggie Bush is out for the year with a torn ACL and Carlos Hyde is battling through a stress fracture in his foot, which means Kendall Gaskins is likely the next man up in this backfield with Davis likely to miss at least a few games. Gaskins should be added for those owners desperate for a running back in deeper leagues, but don't look to roster him on FantasyScore anytime soon behind that bad offensive line.
Sun, 01 Nov 2015 12:53:38 -0800
San Francisco 49ers RB Mike Davis (hand) will not return to Week 8's game against the St. Louis Rams because of an injured hand.
Fantasy Tip: Although Davis ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) is not a viable FantasyScore option, this injury is notable because Reggie Bush ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) has also been declared out. This means that Kendall Gaskins, who is not yet available in FantasyScore, could receive a good chunk of the carries for the remainder of the game.

San Francisco 49ers RB Reggie Bush will receive the start against the St. Louis Rams in Week 8 with RB Carlos Hyde (foot) ruled out. Bush will share carries with rookie RB Mike Davis. RB Jarryd Hayne is also more likely to be active this week after sitting in Week 7.
Fantasy Tip: Bush ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) and the others are likely to struggle on Sunday against a much superior defensive front. This is not the matchup to get cute and use Bush in a flex spot on FantasyScore.

San Francisco 49ers LB Ahmad Brooks, RB Mike Davis, TE Vernon Davis, LB Gerald Hodges, NT Mike Purcell, OL Ian Silberman and WR DeAndrew White were each inactive for the Week 5 game against the New York Giants.

San Francisco 49ers RB Carlos Hyde carried 15 times for 51 yards in the Week 3 game against the Arizona Cardinals before exiting the blowout loss in the second half. RB Mike Davis took over and had seven carries for just six yards.
Fantasy Tip: Hyde ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) had a giant game in Week 1, but he has been so-so since. Still, it appears he'll be the top dog in San Francisco for a while to go, and Mike Davis is certainly no threat to his job security.

The San Francisco 49ers have declared OT Brandon Thomas, DL Corey Lemonier, WR DeAndrew White, DL Mike Purcell, RB Mike Davis, OT Nick Easton, CB Shareece Wright inactive for Week 1.
Wed, 13 May 2015 22:49:07 -0700
San Francisco 49ers RB Carlos Hyde is the expected starter heading into the regular season while RBs Reggie Bush, Kendall Hunter and rookie Mike Davis all compete for touches as well.
Fantasy Tip: Hyde will get first crack at the carries and if fantasy drafts were today, he would be the first San Francisco back off the board. The San Francisco RB situation is crowded, though, and it could be similar to a New England situation from last year where one guy is a stud one week and non-existent the next. Be careful to have plenty of depth at the position if you draft 49ers.
Mon, 11 May 2015 19:25:54 -0700
The San Francisco 49ers signed RB Mike Davis to a contract Monday, May 11. Financial terms of the deal were undisclosed.
Fantasy Tip: With the departure of Frank Gore during the offseason the running back position is in flux in San Francisco. Davis could earn himself a chunk of the carries with a strong training camp and preseason. Stay tuned to see if his fantasy appeal will be small or large.

Free-agent RB Pierre Thomas (Saints) has drawn some interest from the Washington Redskins as they look to give competition to RBs Chris Thompson and Silas Redd for the third-down role, according to a source. However, Washington will likely see what's available in the draft before proceeding with Thomas. Among the options the Redskins could look at in the draft are Nebraska RB Ameer Abdullah, Northern Iowa RB David Johnson, Miami (Fla.) RB Duke Johnson, South Carolina RB Mike Davis and Alabama RB T.J. Yeldon.
Fantasy Tip: Thomas could be an intriguing fantasy option if he lands with the Redskins, because the team plans to utilize the ground game often. However, his value would be clouded if Thompson took valuable third-down touches away. Stay tuned on where Thomas lands in free agency.
